  • The struggle is my daughter combed her sister blacks out and now her hair is so dry that we have to put her on an extreme moisture regimen to get her back on track. This is just the beginning and I will walk through this journey with you guys on seeing her hair get back to a place of hydration.

    Those “satin” scarves actually dry out our hair because that fabric is mostly polyester, which is synthetic. I’ve switched to mulberry silk pillowcases and scarves, as they’re natural fibers and does not dry out our hair, and I do see a difference!

    My daughter has the same color and texture as your daughters hair. I combed out her sister locks just in time for school to get braids. Why did I do that. Major breakage after 4 weeks installed. I wanted to cry. Didn't think about she not having conditioned her hair the last 4 years with the locks. I was told not to add any product. What a stupid mistake. I need to bring her to your salon. I told her we will get through this 💪🏼. Blessings from Atlanta....❤

    I appreciate your video and you did a great job.
    Water setting on top of the hair like this does not mean her hair is dehydrated at all!
    Hair, like skin, can only absorb so much water at a time. There are also parts of the hair, just like skin, that could be more absorbing than others.
    Thanks.

    • @ed-0364
      @ed-0364 2 месяца назад +2

      Exactly, usually it does absorb the water but slowly as it dries plus water is the moisture then just add a sealing oil or blue magic grease. Personally both can be use, that’s what I do plus add a protein leave in conditioner and style. I gently mist the hair weekly or every 3 days, plus clarifying the hair twice a month. Trim every 6 months. Would love to travel to Texas but got to save a lot more. ❤😊

    • @IvoryS2012
      @IvoryS2012 2 месяца назад

    • @FlourishCurls_Salon
      @FlourishCurls_Salon  Месяц назад +2

      That is true! But a good indicator of dehydrated hair is its inability to absorb water well. Once the hairs hydration levels are up there is a huge difference in how it absorbs

    Based on what you’ve shown, I think I have a moisture problem. I’m generally in protective styles (braids, cornrows, etc). I wash my hair during these styles and use aphogee leave in conditioner to saturate through the braids.
    I use JPM tea tree lavender and mint shampoo and Miellé deep conditioner as well.
    Are these good products to hydrate my hair? If now, what do you recommend and how often should I use them?
