I already bought the Bauer 20V Jigsaw but I haven't used it yet! I already have many of the Bauer 20V tools! I'm glad I watched this video because I didn't buy the blades, my old Craftsman jig saw uses U shaped blades so I'm going back to buy the T shaped blades tomorrow!
I have a jig saw from like the 60's that my grandpa gave me. It weighs 30 lbs, its got no safety, no laser, no quick release blade set up, and a sketchy cord that shocks you. Just bought the bauer 3/8 impact and i am really impressed. Definitely wanna pick up this jig saw along with the angle grinder and the hammer drill. I never was a fan of harbor freight but they have been stepping up there game with the bauer line.
I have the cordless angle grinder- 10/10 recommend. I have put it thru hell and it works great would recommend the bigger battery though as it drains the smaller one a bit faster
Old video, I know, but I just sold all my porter cable 20v stuff and bought all Bauer stuff. So far, I have zero complaints. I don’t build houses for a living, just a DIY guy and couldn’t justify the price tag on the box store name brand stuff. Sure it’s not all brushless, but a lot of it is. They don’t have the warranty, but everything I bought was under $100 a tool; and they sit in my tool box 80% of the time. No regrets on my end
I just picked this up today. I noticed the two different types of blades while in the store. I could not find information about blade type on the outside of the box so I had to ask an associate. Thanks for the video, it's great information. I am definitely excited to play with it when I get home from work.
I am preparing to return my second jig saw. The first one worked great until I tried to cut shelves for a cabinet. The blade ran about 1/8 inch left of the line when I used the laser as a guide. My bad, I figured, and I clamped a straightedge onto the work to use as a fence. Never failed until now. The sole plate agreed with the laser but the blade forced the saw left, sliding the fence even though it was held tightly by C clamps. I returned that unit today and immediately ran into worse problems with the replacement: the orbit control / blade guide was too far forward and would not allow a blade to be inserted. I set the orbit to 4 and got the guide to move enough to get the blade in, but not nearly as smoothly as the first one did. No hassle in returning the first one but I was disappointed in the second one being defective. I see others have complained in the reviews about the tracking... not a problem when cutting freehand but disaster when trying to use it for precision straight cuts. EDIT - BTW, I am a big fan of Bauer tools. The 20V drill is a workhorse, and the small 4V drill is one of the most versatile tools I have. I even clean the sawdust from the work area with the battery-powered leaf blower. I hope the third time is a charm on this one - even if it doesn't track perfectly I will keep it and use it within its limitation.
The only reason I didn't get the corded was because I wanted to be introduced to bauers battery system and see what they are all about. Thanks for the comment!
I have the 20 volt compact impact drill cordless and so I have the charger pluse a second battery for it. Sometimes jobs prefer corder tool, sometimes it's worth sacrificing the cord for convenience. I've been very impressed with the impact drill one of the best tools I bought at harbor freight hands down!
It throttles down pretty well (trigger control) but it takes a bit of practice to develop fine control of the speed. The only other operating control it has is the orbit control; it affects the movement of the blade rather than speed.
To be honest I haven't really put the batteries to any type of test. Especially on these light projects I work on, I never really run them dry. Good video idea though.

Just got it today. The store finally had them in stock.
We just bought this. Waiting for battery to charge. thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Awesome! What are you making?

After using this battery for over a year, I 100% agree with you on buying a bigger battery
Helpful - thanks!

I agree! Perfect if you only use it a few times a year around the house.

By the way, great production quality for the video.
Thank you! I thought that would be an important mistake of mine to point out.

Let me know howyou like it!
i love mine
I went for the corded one and it’s a freaking beast man... so awesome for the price
Glad its working out for you man!

Thanks for watching and thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention.
That 4v screwdriver is impressive. Have used it to put a screw into hardwood a few times not wanting to go get my drill
This Bauer jigsaw’s blade compartment loosens. I tried many times inserting the blade and when I start cutting it drops.
Man sorry to hear that. I haven't ran into that problem yet. But thanks for bringing that up!
Good review man. I was looking to buy this to go along with my circular saw I’d picked up as an open box. keep the good content coming
Thank you my friend! And thank you for taking the time to comment.
Still a toss up for me. It between this or the corded model. Thanks for the video good an insightful!!

I absolutely agree! Everything has its place. What amp batteries do you have and do they last pretty long?
Thank you !!
Thank you!!! For watching
Can you notice a big difference in the speed settings? the one I got seems to run at the same speed no matter which selection I make. Thanks
That's a good point. Not a huge difference now that I think about it. I'll test it again when I get home and get back to you.
I didn't know this had a speed setting. I thought it was only an orbital setting.
It throttles down pretty well (trigger control) but it takes a bit of practice to develop fine control of the speed. The only other operating control it has is the orbit control; it affects the movement of the blade rather than speed.
How strong is the base plate? The one on my B&D is bent to bejesus and back from dropping it a few times.
Its pretty stout. Well made in my opinion. Haven't done a drop test though lol
Good video thanks
Thanks for watching!
Damn inflation. $59.99 as of 4/22/2022
you can now buy it online
Thanks for the heads up!
I do same mistake with the blades thanks bro
Thanks for watching brother
What type of battery life do you get?
To be honest I haven't really put the batteries to any type of test. Especially on these light projects I work on, I never really run them dry. Good video idea though.
I like my Bauer tools but I think that jigsaw is junk.
I like the jigsaw and I own the corded version it not as good
Really? Why is that?
I wish you could do a review instead of run your mouth
Horrible review. 😤
