I know I’m gonna get a lot of flack but I actually loved Prometheus & Alien Covenant but I’m glad Alien Romulus is it’s own thing I feel like stand alone movies always do great and are great movies.
Prometheus was so interesting and Scott was right to say making another ALIEN movie off of it would lil the franchise, he had no new ideas for it..and it showed I damn him for his mistakes, but he was right, Prometheus needed to stay parallel to Alien
Michael Fassebender's David deserves a movie, to give some sort of closure to that arc. But, if they don't do it, i'm ok with that. The clifhanger of Alien Covenant is scary as hell and gives room to imagination.

People get the misconception during that the audition process. He saying Prometheus and Covenant are the first two movies. "Yeah, your not getting the role." Alverez is NOT bashing the prequels and already said he likes ALL the Alien movies including Prometheus and Covenant. What he's doing is being honest and stating which movies came first and that he had a clear direction for Romulus we already KNOW has something to do with the prequels, but has more in common with the first two Alien movies Romulus is set between.

@@supoa9489 honestly I don’t think it’s “Hollywood”, because there are a lot of hard working actors. It’s known that this is a young cast, and I’m pretty sure it’s a generational/work ethic thing. A lot of the younger generation are not keen on learning history.
I likes Prometheus and Covenant too. Now they will link it to the other movies through Romulus via the black goo I am not so desperate for them to finish Davids trilogy. Too me they are great films in the alien universe. I do also think David needs a movie to finish his story arc, he was such a good android. I think we will see a King alien in Romulus, we have seen a queen and Kings do exist in the comics. That tail coming down and grabbing someone is why i think this. Im pretty sure normal xenomorph tails could not reach that far and we have never seen one grab or wrap anyone up with there tail yet.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I sincerely hope Romulus lives up to the hype. In that it is made "for" the fans, serving the fans' nostalgia, staying true to the established canon and blows up at the box office. Proving to Hollywood as a whole, a film with a female protagonist can be a hit with hardcore fans in the box-office "if" you keep alphabet politics out of the narrative.

I loved Prometheus. Covenant, not so much. But at least, Covenant continued the David storyline. And the ending of Covenant... WOW ! I really wanna see David's arc continue. Fassbender is a superb actor and he plays David / Walter to perfection.

Yeah I liked them they were well made movies, just went in the wrong direction with David creating the Xenos and would have liked to have seen more about the Space Jockeys in Covenant.
I rewatched the final trailer and noticed something! the shot where the facehugger is being pulled off of navaro, it looks like the hugger manages to force the empyro down as you can see the tube or whatever its real scientific name is expand and move down into her throat, right as its being pulled out, so to me it looks like she isnt hugged for very long at all, like that character in covenant!
I guess I've got an unpopular opinion but I liked Prometheus. But Covenant was just... bad. Tried too hard to make all new lore even worse than the Prometheus.
The Alien franchise has been my life long Sci Fi love since I was 12 years old. My alltime favorite is Aliens, but what intrigued me most about the first movie was that there were two things that hardly anyone gave enough thought to, namely: 1, There was another alien race involved (the Engineers) and 2, how comes this xenomorph species had to rely on humans to hatch when humanity was so far away?. We had to wait Thirtythree long years for an answer until finally Prometheus came out, one of the most underrated movies ever. Those of you who dislike this movie, dislike it because you do not grasp the true potential that is hidden within this magnificent gem. I have a few thoughts that might change the way you think about this masterpiece. Thanks to the prequels, the Alien universe became enriched with story potential and so much more. Enter Fede Alvarez, a man who was not creative enough to know what to do with the existing material (I literally can do better with ideas than this man, given the chance). The sad truth is that Alien is being downgraded to a cheap scare horror franchise by a Director who lacks vision and creativity, and is being supported by the kind of fans who preferr Popcorn and cheap horror thrills rather than having to switch on their brain. The Alien saga is possibly the best written and most intricate storyline ever written for a horror franchise. Please please do not let it degrade to one of those cheap scare franchises like Halloween or Scream etc. Alien is too valuable for that. All of the above is the view of the sceptic in me. I will be watching the movie because I love Alien too much as to not watch this, and to see if my scepticism is justified. I will take down my comment and apologise with a portion of humble pie if I am wrong, but I needed to get this rant out of my system because everyone so far has been crawling deeply up Fede's butt. No Thanks. It is just the same rehashed plot. At this point These Alien Movies are just like Friday the 13th. People are only watching to see the Alien kill people. Well it depends on how you look at it....... Saying Prometheus and Alien Covenant were the first Two... is basically the same as saying Star Wars EP 1 and 2 where the First Two Star Wars Movies. Chronologically.... but not release Date etc But I can understand that Alvarez wanted people who have seen Alien and Aliens because those are the kind of look and feel he wanted to replicate
The only thing that concerns me is that there only appears to be 5 or 6 characters that are in the movie and the trailers give away most of the death scenes already. So with such a low body count, will it compare with the first alien movie.....
Well it's an alien movie... Not a lot of people will survive Let's be real here, but i do agree that the death scenes shouldn't be revealed in the trailers it takes away the surprise or the fear of it all.
Alien only had a creature kill count of 5, and that's if you count Kane dying from the chest burster. Brett from Big Chap's ambush kill. Dallas from literally running headfirst into Big Chap in the ducts. And Lambert and Parker getting it while trying to collect coolant.
Prometheus and Covenant I thought were great movies, and I enjoyed the story arc. It is good to have different types of stories in the Alien universe. I look forward to this movie and Ridley to complete the prequel series after this. If they start using Alien RPG lore, that goes even further into the future, you find that the Engineers created other beings. One they called the perfected. If the movie series goes in that direction that would be gold. But for now if you want to encounter the perfected you have to play Alien RPG.
I'm keeping my expectations low; the best I can hope for is a solid haunted house movie like the first one; no need for new lore entry to be honest. I hope they can manage the suspense well in this movie.

I think you're reading too much into the comments by Fede Alvarez; I don't think he was trying to throw any shade at those films. Prometheus and Alien Covenant were passion projects by the series founder Ridley Scott. After the filming wrapped on Romulus, Fede Alvarez was desperate for RS's approval after he watched it. I think what Fede meant was, "Prometheus and Covenant were NOT the first Alien movies; you're not getting the job because you haven't seen the originals".

And not for nothing, Ridley Scott intentionally left the 'Alien' part out of the 'Prometheus' title on purpose. It's called "Prometheus" not "Alien: Prometheus"; he wasn't trying to trick anyone into thinking that it was a typical Alien movie. Both of those films were meant to be stand-alone and separate from the rest of the Alien franchise. I mean how many times can you tell the exact same story? "Characters find face-hugger(s), some get impregnated, chest-burster scene, xenomorphs kill most of them, female-lead survives". It looks like Romulus is going to be expanding on certain concepts and bringing a horror element to the franchise, even if the plot follows the typical Alien formula.
Just my opinion and I would like replies …. But there is absolutely no way he has moved away from any alien film . Stupid people , Terra forming a planet , facehuggers , alien eggs , alien . It’s literally all the same thing . Getting away from Prometheus and AC is completely absurd. WTF was in the chair in Alien and that needs to answered. We want to continue to see alien films and neglect the SJ in the chair. Fede is fooling us. This is a stand alone film but the black goo was in the canister. The black goo has an origin that needs to be explained and completed. Prometheus was awesome and AC was a complete failure mimicking everything after the original.
Scott will get to make his final prequel if Romulus is a hit, that's why he is producing the movie. Though he's not directly involved, Scott wouldn't be doing this if he thought Alverez was going to trash anything that came before... which he obviously isn't! 😉

Regarding the Video Title....... Romulus was never going to connect to the Prequels so its not really moving away from it. We may have some loose connections with maybe the Xenomorph DNA can be used like the Pathogen.. maybe. Is that a good thing? The moving away from the Prequels, i would say yes........ However Alvarez has no Plot that had written him into a Corner unlike at the time of making Alien 3 and AR. And so the way that Alvarez obtains the Xenomorph is not the only option he could have taken. There is potential for Movies to go back to LV-223 and Planet 4... maybe LV-426 as to me the Damage done to the Derelict and the hole the Jordans entered in ALIENS looks like some kind of internal Damage/Explosion.

Alien franchise should expand more on what Prometheus and Covenant did with David. I think the Waylan Yutanni corporation following David’s bread crumbs could explain their motives on why they want to capture a xenomorph and their willingness to sacrifice human life in order to achieve that. I think having David lurking in the shadows could add a more menacing feeling than the xenomorph itself, because at this point the chest bursting is overplayed and has lost its impact, I mean its not the same when you know it’s coming.
@@frankthecat1660 to each its own, but using the Alien franchise as just another “slasher” film is such a waste. The themes that the first Alien movie explored were interesting and frightening. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Aliens and AVP just as much as the next guy, but Aliens had amazing characters that you genuinely cared about and didn’t want to see die. And AVP was fun and all but it created so many inconsistencies and plot holes for the Alien timeline. And AVP Requiem is proof that using the Alien franchise as a slasher film is a horrible idea, because when you see characters that are just there to die is very disengaging. Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Alien Covenant are proof that the chest bursting is overplayed and isn’t enough to carry the fear factor in the film. You gotta have another threat, an invisible force that’s influencing the course of events from the darkest reaches of space. Someone or something whose presence you can’t see, but you can ominously feel. To me David fits that role perfectly. And the Weyland Yutani corporation has a very good motive to search for him. I mean, David was with Weyland on his last expedition in search for immortality. I think that would connect a lot of dots in the franchise, as well as give the past films deeper meaning knowing that David was lurking in the shadows and that WY was blindly and desperately following his bread crumbs. Think about it, in the beginning of Alien 3, when Bishop tells Ripley that another life form was inside the ship, how did it get inside? It’s been long standing theory that the Queen placed the egg inside the ship just before its showdown with Ripley, but what if David was watching the events in Aliens, and was surprised by how Ripley was able to save Neut, destroy the xenomorph colony, defeat his Queen and escape? He could have intercepted their ship and place the egg inside. And since he is an Android, he could have gone unnoticed by the ship and Bishop. Moreover, he could have been surprised by Ripleys performance in the Nostromo and gone out of his way to get her to go back and have another showdown with his creation in Hadleys Hope. And after those two encounters he could have tried to get her DNA to create a better xenomorph Queen, which is why WY showed up at the end of Alien 3 and that perfectly leads to Alien Resurrection, where the Xeno Queen gave actual birth thanks to Ripleys DNA. To me that makes more sense and can be explored deeper. Alien without Ripley, just isn’t the same. They tried to fill that role with Shaw and Daniels but David killed them off too quickly for the audience to build a connection like the one with Ripley.
Well I think that the Franchise hit a Brick Wall with Alien Covenant.... by that in how we get from that to Alien. Ridley Scott had indicated that AC would need 2-3 more Movies before we get to ALIEN.... 2-3 more Movies over a Time-Line of 18 Years until the Nostramo turns up at LV-426. I am not sure the Fans would have had the patience for that... It seems like RS was more interested in other things than just the Xenomorph.... and I felt that was the correct. Unfortunately I don't think we will see any conclusions to the Prequels and maybe not answer to the Derelict incident etc
Let's be honest..Aliens did more damage to the franchise than Convenient did.. because they turned the xenomorph from a force of alien nature, to just chaff to be gunned down in the hundreds. That's my view tho, i just like the OG.. yes the sequal had cool stuff, but it just removes the horror and scary element. I've seen the alien die like a bunch of background noise. It's not scary anymore
U claim Aliens may not be as "scary" as Alien, but it was definitely as tense. The way the situation deteriorated logically was thrilling. Space marines descent into the Xenomorph den not knowing exactly what they were dealing with. Then were ordered to disarm themselves lest they rupture the nuclear coolants. But some understandably disobeyed orders & ended up rupturing the coolants anyway. Then the surviving members thought they had to hunker down for a wk to await rescue, but bcuz of the ruptured coolants, they suddenly only had hours to evac. The stressful circumstances just kept piling up. Imagine being in that situation with the looming threat of death, wud u have held it together? I think most ppl wud've noped out like Hudson did.
Saw the trailer at the cinema and i think it might be crap. Everyone is so young, gave me the vibe everyone will be making obviously stupid mistakes. Im not optimistic but really hope im wrong, need a good alienovie again, its been nearly 40 years
The respect element is so vital they really are showing love to the franchise and are adding things without killing the feel of the first 2. For me a film needs to have texture atmosphere ambience all things that modern films don’t have! This is why studios like A24 do so well because the create worlds and places that are lived in. Anyways rant over I’m so hyped to see a new alien film with I can finally count next to the first 2 😂
I'll never understand why all the Prometheus and Covenant hate. I've seen many say that Romulus is just more of the same as far as Alien and Aliens. I don't agree with either of those positions. Prometheus and Covenant are still canon and easily mesh with Romulus.
Alien 3 despite its obvious flaws was a great way of closing Ripley's chapter. Resurrection shouldn't have happened and I find it worrying that there's rumours of a hybrid in this movie.

Probably for the best that they move away, but I can't say I think Prometheus and Covenant are bad films. I enjoyed them, but Romulus looks like the straight-up horror film that the franchise has needed as a kick up the arse for a while. Ditch the philosophising and get back to freaking people out
What a shocking Revelation : Spoiler : RIPLEY´s Hybernation Pod found inside Romulus SPACE STATION . 57 years was a lie . They found long before the events in ALIENS. Lobotomized her and made up a story so she could live her life on Earth as an ordinary human.
If Fede’s movie ends up being good , then what timeline does the next movie take place ? We can’t keep making movies of stupid people getting caught by facehuggers and Xenos taking over. You have to do the SJ justice. The Alien was not only the Xeno but essentially Alien was the big guy in the chair. U have to continue to explore the Engineer/SJ.

The actor got flunked out of the casting cause he didn't named the correct first two Alien films (which were Alien & Aliens) not for the fact that he named Prometheus & Covenant and that Alvarez don't like them! Alvarez already said that they are part of the lore and parts of them will be in Romulus (black goo). Not much maybe but at least it's not ignored.

Fede was being _very_ poltically correct when egoist Ridley Scott opened the trap of "Tell me which of the Alien films was the best". Fede butters Scott's bread by saying "Alien" (79) was the best, not mentioning _any_ other _actual_ Alien franchise film ( _especially_ James Cameron's blockbuster "Aliens" (86)). It was a cheap shot for him to attack AVP : Requiem because it was a "B" movie and is _not_ part of the actual Alien franchise. Further, Fede isn't beholden to _any_ of the minor film industry shot callers involved in the AVP films as he is with Ridley Scott and the actual Alien franchise IP masters, who will determine if he gets a follow-up to Alien : Romulus. By the way, I am now very sure that you, Mr H, are correct about the Romulus alien being linked to Ridley Scott's Big Chap, because Scott remains incredibly resentful of Cameron's success with Aliens and has been trying to soft retcon Aliens and deprecate Cameron's influence and legacy.

People get the misconception during that the audition process. He saying Prometheus and Covenant are the first two movies. "Yeah, your not getting the role." Alverez is NOT bashing the prequels and already said he likes ALL the Alien movies including Prometheus and Covenant. What he's doing is being honest and stating which movies came first and that he had a clear direction for Romulus we already KNOW has something to do with the prequels, but has more in common with the first two Alien movies Romulus is set between.

I likes Prometheus and Covenant too. Now they will link it to the other movies through Romulus via the black goo I am not so desperate for them to finish Davids trilogy. Too me they are great films in the alien universe. I do also think David needs a movie to finish his story arc, he was such a good android. I think we will see a King alien in Romulus, we have seen a queen and Kings do exist in the comics. That tail coming down and grabbing someone is why i think this. Im pretty sure normal xenomorph tails could not reach that far and we have never seen one grab or wrap anyone up with there tail yet.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I sincerely hope Romulus lives up to the hype. In that it is made "for" the fans, serving the fans' nostalgia, staying true to the established canon and blows up at the box office. Proving to Hollywood as a whole, a film with a female protagonist can be a hit with hardcore fans in the box-office "if" you keep alphabet politics out of the narrative.

But at least, Covenant continued the David storyline. And the ending of Covenant... WOW ! I really wanna see David's arc continue. Fassbender is a superb actor and he plays David / Walter to perfection.

I rewatched the final trailer and noticed something! the shot where the facehugger is being pulled off of navaro, it looks like the hugger manages to force the empyro down as you can see the tube or whatever its real scientific name is expand and move down into her throat, right as its being pulled out, so to me it looks like she isnt hugged for very long at all, like that character in covenant!
I guess I've got an unpopular opinion but I liked Prometheus. But Covenant was just... bad. Tried too hard to make all new lore even worse than the Prometheus.

It's like Star Wars. It's better to watch the movies by the release date, instead of the canon timeline.
The Alien franchise has been my life long Sci Fi love since I was 12 years old. My alltime favorite is Aliens, but what intrigued me most about the first movie was that there were two things that hardly anyone gave enough thought to, namely: 1, There was another alien race involved (the Engineers) and 2, how comes this xenomorph species had to rely on humans to hatch when humanity was so far away?. We had to wait Thirtythree long years for an answer until finally Prometheus came out, one of the most underrated movies ever. Those of you who dislike this movie, dislike it because you do not grasp the true potential that is hidden within this magnificent gem. I have a few thoughts that might change the way you think about this masterpiece. Thanks to the prequels, the Alien universe became enriched with story potential and so much more.
Enter Fede Alvarez, a man who was not creative enough to know what to do with the existing material (I literally can do better with ideas than this man, given the chance).
The sad truth is that Alien is being downgraded to a cheap scare horror franchise by a Director who lacks vision and creativity, and is being supported by the kind of fans who preferr Popcorn and cheap horror thrills rather than having to switch on their brain.
The Alien saga is possibly the best written and most intricate storyline ever written for a horror franchise. Please please do not let it degrade to one of those cheap scare franchises like Halloween or Scream etc. Alien is too valuable for that.
All of the above is the view of the sceptic in me. I will be watching the movie because I love Alien too much as to not watch this, and to see if my scepticism is justified. I will take down my comment and apologise with a portion of humble pie if I am wrong, but I needed to get this rant out of my system because everyone so far has been crawling deeply up Fede's butt. I honestly hope that the last missing jigsaw piece that was to connect Prometheus with Alien 1 will finally be made before I die.

Well it's an alien movie... Not a lot of people will survive Let's be real here, but i do agree that the death scenes shouldn't be revealed in the trailers it takes away the surprise or the fear of it all.
Alien only had a creature kill count of 5, and that's if you count Kane dying from the chest burster. Brett from Big Chap's ambush kill. Dallas from literally running headfirst into Big Chap in the ducts. And Lambert and Parker getting it while trying to collect coolant.

Prometheus and Covenant I thought were great movies, and I enjoyed the story arc. It is good to have different types of stories in the Alien universe. I look forward to this movie and Ridley to complete the prequel series after this. If they start using Alien RPG lore, that goes even further into the future, you find that the Engineers created other beings. One they called the perfected. If the movie series goes in that direction that would be gold. But for now if you want to encounter the perfected you have to play Alien RPG.
I'm keeping my expectations low; the best I can hope for is a solid haunted house movie like the first one; no need for new lore entry to be honest. I hope they can manage the suspense well in this movie.

I think you're reading too much into the comments by Fede Alvarez; I don't think he was trying to throw any shade at those films. Prometheus and Alien Covenant were passion projects by the series founder Ridley Scott. After the filming wrapped on Romulus, Fede Alvarez was desperate for RS's approval after he watched it. I think what Fede meant was, "Prometheus and Covenant were NOT the first Alien movies; you're not getting the job because you haven't seen the originals".

And not for nothing, Ridley Scott intentionally left the 'Alien' part out of the 'Prometheus' title on purpose. It's called "Prometheus" not "Alien: Prometheus"; he wasn't trying to trick anyone into thinking that it was a typical Alien movie. Both of those films were meant to be stand-alone and separate from the rest of the Alien franchise.
I mean how many times can you tell the exact same story? "Characters find face-hugger(s), some get impregnated, chest-burster scene, xenomorphs kill most of them, female-lead survives". It looks like Romulus is going to be expanding on certain concepts and bringing a horror element to the franchise, even if the plot follows the typical Alien formula.

Just my opinion and I would like replies …. But there is absolutely no way he has moved away from any alien film . Stupid people , Terra forming a planet , facehuggers , alien eggs , alien . It’s literally all the same thing . Getting away from Prometheus and AC is completely absurd. WTF was in the chair in Alien and that needs to answered. We want to continue to see alien films and neglect the SJ in the chair. Fede is fooling us. This is a stand alone film but the black goo was in the canister. The black goo has an origin that needs to be explained and completed. Prometheus was awesome and AC was a complete failure mimicking everything after the original.
Scott will get to make his final prequel if Romulus is a hit, that's why he is producing the movie. Though he's not directly involved, Scott wouldn't be doing this if he thought Alverez was going to trash anything that came before... which he obviously isn't! 😉

Romulus was never going to connect to the Prequels so its not really moving away from it. We may have some loose connections with maybe the Xenomorph DNA can be used like the Pathogen.. maybe.

However Alvarez has no Plot that had written him into a Corner unlike at the time of making Alien 3 and AR. And so the way that Alvarez obtains the Xenomorph is not the only option he could have taken.
There is potential for Movies to go back to LV-223 and Planet 4... maybe LV-426 as to me the Damage done to the Derelict and the hole the Jordans entered in ALIENS looks like some kind of internal Damage/Explosion.

Alien franchise should expand more on what Prometheus and Covenant did with David. I think the Waylan Yutanni corporation following David’s bread crumbs could explain their motives on why they want to capture a xenomorph and their willingness to sacrifice human life in order to achieve that. I think having David lurking in the shadows could add a more menacing feeling than the xenomorph itself, because at this point the chest bursting is overplayed and has lost its impact, I mean its not the same when you know it’s coming.

@@frankthecat1660 to each its own, but using the Alien franchise as just another “slasher” film is such a waste. The themes that the first Alien movie explored were interesting and frightening. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Aliens and AVP just as much as the next guy, but Aliens had amazing characters that you genuinely cared about and didn’t want to see die. And AVP was fun and all but it created so many inconsistencies and plot holes for the Alien timeline. And AVP Requiem is proof that using the Alien franchise as a slasher film is a horrible idea, because when you see characters that are just there to die is very disengaging. Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Alien Covenant are proof that the chest bursting is overplayed and isn’t enough to carry the fear factor in the film. You gotta have another threat, an invisible force that’s influencing the course of events from the darkest reaches of space. Someone or something whose presence you can’t see, but you can ominously feel. To me David fits that role perfectly. And the Weyland Yutani corporation has a very good motive to search for him. I mean, David was with Weyland on his last expedition in search for immortality. I think that would connect a lot of dots in the franchise, as well as give the past films deeper meaning knowing that David was lurking in the shadows and that WY was blindly and desperately following his bread crumbs. Think about it, in the beginning of Alien 3, when Bishop tells Ripley that another life form was inside the ship, how did it get inside? It’s been long standing theory that the Queen placed the egg inside the ship just before its showdown with Ripley, but what if David was watching the events in Aliens, and was surprised by how Ripley was able to save Neut, destroy the xenomorph colony, defeat his Queen and escape? He could have intercepted their ship and place the egg inside. And since he is an Android, he could have gone unnoticed by the ship and Bishop. Moreover, he could have been surprised by Ripleys performance in the Nostromo and gone out of his way to get her to go back and have another showdown with his creation in Hadleys Hope. And after those two encounters he could have tried to get her DNA to create a better xenomorph Queen, which is why WY showed up at the end of Alien 3 and that perfectly leads to Alien Resurrection, where the Xeno Queen gave actual birth thanks to Ripleys DNA. To me that makes more sense and can be explored deeper. Alien without Ripley, just isn’t the same. They tried to fill that role with Shaw and Daniels but David killed them off too quickly for the audience to build a connection like the one with Ripley.

Ridley Scott had indicated that AC would need 2-3 more Movies before we get to ALIEN.... 2-3 more Movies over a Time-Line of 18 Years until the Nostramo turns up at LV-426.
I am not sure the Fans would have had the patience for that...
It seems like RS was more interested in other things than just the Xenomorph.... and I felt that was the correct.

Let's be honest..Aliens did more damage to the franchise than Convenient did.. because they turned the xenomorph from a force of alien nature, to just chaff to be gunned down in the hundreds.

U claim Aliens may not be as "scary" as Alien, but it was definitely as tense. The way the situation deteriorated logically was thrilling. Space marines descent into the Xenomorph den not knowing exactly what they were dealing with. Then were ordered to disarm themselves lest they rupture the nuclear coolants. But some understandably disobeyed orders & ended up rupturing the coolants anyway. Then the surviving members thought they had to hunker down for a wk to await rescue, but bcuz of the ruptured coolants, they suddenly only had hours to evac. The stressful circumstances just kept piling up. Imagine being in that situation with the looming threat of death, wud u have held it together? I think most ppl wud've noped out like Hudson did.
That's such a cope. Aliens is on a godlike pedestal of film making. Prometheus and Covenant are forgettable garbage.
And there was plenty of horror in Aliens.

The respect element is so vital they really are showing love to the franchise and are adding things without killing the feel of the first 2. For me a film needs to have texture atmosphere ambience all things that modern films don’t have! This is why studios like A24 do so well because the create worlds and places that are lived in. I'll never understand why all the Prometheus and Covenant hate. I've seen many say that Romulus is just more of the same as far as Alien and Aliens. I don't agree with either of those positions. Prometheus and Covenant are still canon and easily mesh with Romulus.

If Fede’s movie ends up being good , then what timeline does the next movie take place ? We can’t keep making movies of stupid people getting caught by facehuggers and Xenos taking over. You have to do the SJ justice. The Alien was not only the Xeno but essentially Alien was the big guy in the chair. U have to continue to explore the Engineer/SJ.

The actor got flunked out of the casting cause he didn't named the correct first two Alien films (which were Alien & Aliens) not for the fact that he named Prometheus & Covenant and that Alvarez don't like them!
Alvarez already said that they are part of the lore and parts of them will be in Romulus (black goo). Not much maybe but at least it's not ignored.

If Ridley was bold enough to follow Prometheus ideia on Engineers, that would be amazing... But this shit almagamation of Alien and Engineers got us here... Maybe we get something good of that...

Fede was being _very_ poltically correct when egoist Ridley Scott opened the trap of "Tell me which of the Alien films was the best". Fede butters Scott's bread by saying "Alien" (79) was the best, not mentioning _any_ other _actual_ Alien franchise film ( _especially_ James Cameron's blockbuster "Aliens" (86)). It was a cheap shot for him to attack AVP : Requiem because it was a "B" movie and is _not_ part of the actual Alien franchise. Further, Fede isn't beholden to _any_ of the minor film industry shot callers involved in the AVP films as he is with Ridley Scott and the actual Alien franchise IP masters, who will determine if he gets a follow-up to Alien : Romulus. By the way, I am now very sure that you, Mr H, are correct about the Romulus alien being linked to Ridley Scott's Big Chap, because Scott remains incredibly resentful of Cameron's success with Aliens and has been trying to soft retcon Aliens and deprecate Cameron's influence and legacy.
