It’s amazing the effect music has on our mood. This is why I tell friends, who may be going through some difficult times, to play their favorite happy music. I suggest they listen with headphones and play it at a relatively high volume to help them focus on the music and not their emotional pain. It works for me.
Wow cool experiment! It’s amazing how much music effects our emotions! All of the versions were effective. The suspenseful left me with a lot of questions. My favorite was the sad.
The sad one had me tearing up ,but I've always been a sucker for sad songs . Great fun video , the most interesting piano based channel I have ever seen . Thank you .
@@javierayala1931 Dude I'm not sayin' I wanna marry her, she's just got a cute and bubbly personality. Good lord man, calm down! Lol. And trust me, I know about the hair, I went to school with a woman who had a full head of gray hair by the time she was 27. Lol.
Love Gmin...and Emin...actually, I love all of the Minor scales *but* I love Pianote almost even more because without you guys I wouldnt know any of them. You deserve so much more views and subs than you have so far. Love your channel folks. As for my fav, the E Minor ;)
The spooky one! That was my favorite. Chills! 😱 😄 But the sad one? It tortured my soul in the sweetest way. Like Lisa, an entire story unfolded in my mind as I watched. This was really fun! 💘💘
This is a nicely put together video and well explained and demonstrated. Good job Pianote! The music genres I would like to see is relaxing and inspiring.
@@PianoteOfficial What a fun word "juxtapose" first time hearing it. When I looked it up it fits perfectly. I learn in all kind of way from you channel.
Great video as always! Could you please make a video on how to aurally identify if a piece is in a major scale or a minor scale? And when the piece modulates from major to minor and vice versa? What exactly are we focusing our ears on when we want to identify this? Can someone please help me with this I am new to music? Thank you in advance!
Hello Ma'am , I love your tutorials very much. I am just a beginner at piano , your lessons give me so much positivity... Your way of teaching lesson is really beautiful and effective... Love From India🥰
That was great!! The sad one and the last one provoked the most emotion in me. The middle one was fine, it just reminded me of a typical romantic movie. Maybe like a romantic comedy, my least favorite movie genre. Thanks to both of you.
Oh yes, that works incredibly well! I do think the minor, sad sound was so sad, it brought up the most emotional feelings in me and gave me a huge back story. The romantic one didn't do an awful lot for me because I thought the pace was a little too quick to be romantic. The third, spooky sound was definitely spooky, and made it seem like Lisa was giving Sam a very strange and dangerous package. What an excellent lesson this was in how music can seriously affect our emotions. Music is used to great effect in movies, tv sitcoms, churches and many more media to cause exactly the kinds of feelings the creators want to instill into the human species and has been used for this purpose since humans were created.
The romantic major chord part even when the tempo is slowed down, felt as a happy memory rather than a sad present. Excellent video! Thank you so much for making on this theme...looking forward to see more on these lines...eg: slow motion vs regular speed video for same audio..if you could make the video length more crisp, that will be great!
@@PianoteOfficial I think the sad one; it matches the lighting, the pace of your movements and of the camera shots (length of each scene and transitions), even the facial expressions! It sounded like a sad towards uncertainty, maybe an aftermath of an event. Very cool; ties in a lot of different aspects of the arts, and ultimately what makes us human😀
Hi Lisa and Sam, that was indeed really creative and interesting ! I hope more details on how did you create those melodies will be coming soon on Pianote’s students’ area. Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving !
Very interesting, plz do video playing each emotion..... sad, romantic, suspenseful (I play relaxing spa music often until I am about to fall asleep at the piano)
Very cool. I've seen the concept brought up on cinema vlogs but not discussed by musicians. The first one was really interesting. It seemed like a breakup gift, like a past gift returned. Near the end, though, I thought Poison Pastry! Great experiment.
The sad one was personally my favorite. I even came up with a story in my head thinking that it was a story of a guy proposing to a girl and the scene that we see is of her giving him back the ring. Or even something like a couple that was trying to have a kid, and in the box was a pregnancy stick that was negative. I really loved the video, I just wish you guys could go a little bit more in-depth into how to play those particular emotions. I may need a little bit more specifics on how to evoke those emotions.
In the sad version I felt like the girl wasn't sure if opening the door and offering the present was the right things to do. She was rather hesitating of doing a sad yet inevitable act. In the other 2 versions I felt she was determined and confident to proceed. I liked all the versions, but maybe a little more the sad one.
Could you pleaaseee tell what chords and patterns you used in the happier and sinister version , it was really amazing! Ps- you might aswell wanna tell us what was inside that gift wrap?😬
What an interesting experiment! I think maybe my reactions were slightly muted knowing what to expect, but I was still affected haha. The suspenseful one actually made me laugh a little-- put me in mind of 50s era thrillers with that music. And my favorite was the sad version-- it was what most surprised me. The first minute or so did make me feel down and wistful, but from 3:55 to 4:10-- even though it was minor key, that part suddenly made me feel hopeful, like whatever was wrong might still work out. I wonder if anyone else felt that way...
I personally liked all three because of mood seen in each shot. Oh by the way, what was the piano keys your co-star was playing in and he teach those chords.
I just watched this and maybe it's just me, but I did not get the same emotions, which I'm sure it's all subjective. But the first one, I didn't get sad, more mysterious per se....like...here's the pregnancy test no one wants to see or here's your finger back that I chopped off...definitely not sad. The last sound I didn't get horror or scary, maybe a little suspenseful. But Hitchcock was a master of using sound/music to push his movies further, clearly a technique still used in so many other areas today.
Kuleshov wasn't deaf, and he wasn't stupid. I'm sure that a good director would also send out instructions for the pianist in the movie theater along with the reel of film to set the mood.
This vid did not seem like 10 mins. Enjoyed throughout. This was different than your usual vids still loved it though maybe even appreciate it more being someone into film and photography.
When you come out of the room you're not wearing glasses but in all the other scenes you have them on 🤔. Other than that blooper a very interesting concept.
I’m not saying Lisa’s 40, but as I am a 40+ person those glasses come on and off all day from room to room. The other half of the day is spent trying to remember where you put them.
