I top out in the 140 to 150 region when the piano gods are smiling down on me. Typically though problems seriously start to set in around 130. However strangely I can handle 16ths that are in regular patterns, e.g. Hanon, at 50-60 (quarter note), but that would again be with piano gods (PGs?) smiling down on me.
I love her teaching specially because she ALWAYS find music in everything she teaches. I call her my BEST MUSICAL TEACHER. This is one of my biggest challenge playing fast and rhythm patterns. Where can I find more videos like this one and rhythm pattens ones. Thanks for all your videos. A big hug and blessings 🤗🎹❤️
Lisa.! Hats off to your hardwork and I appreciate your each and every video for making piano easier to everyone who wish to learn it properly. A very humble way of speaking, a proper way of teaching, videos with notation🎹🎼 makes it understand better. I personally find it very much helpful. I think every learner should take advantage of it because no one gives that much deep knowledge free of cost 😊 I wish you good luck🍀. Love from India ❤
This tip was really helpful!! I didn't practice it as I was listening to the video. But I definitely did pay attention. I hope later when I practice this, it comes into play. No doubt in my mind, it'll benefit me.
You showed me the speed I won't live to see :D - I play Hannon's 1st at about 90-100 and can't go faster (my mistakes starts multiplying), can't get proper coordination on 2nd yet and I'm even afraid to look at the 3rd. But I tried piano for fun only 4 months ago at the age of 44 and self-learning only, so I don't have to and I'm in no rush. Greetings from Poland.
Thanks for many god videos! This was great and helpful to me 👍 Guitar is my thing so it’s time to try piano also. My left hand was better than right because I play guitar and I take piano like yoga to my brains. It’s fun to breathe and take it easy with piano. Struggling with my brain I did this super slowly with both hands together.. Always happy when I can do something new.🎶
Thank you for another great video! I might be weird but I love doing Hanon exercises. I only know 2 or 3 but I always do them as a part of every lesson every day. I know you have a long list of requests but would it be possible to make more Hanon videos? I don't think I'm the only beginner who'd benefit from them and you are such a great instructor; everything's so much easier to learn from you than the books I use. :D Have a great day!
Hi Liza.. your videos are always very helpful.. Could you please make videos on right and left hand arpeggio patterns with reverse arpeggios to use in songs.
Great video - memorization is always a component. The pinnacle of arm rotation as far as I know is Taubman - many RUclipss but pretty radical - big claims. My instructor turned me onto this, but is a "what do I do with this information" kind of thing. Knowing I should be rotating is way easier than adjusting my playing.
Yes, absolutely! Eating well is going to help your mind AND your body play better at the piano! (And you might get a little less frustrated in practice too!)
I just notice though that this exercise can be seen on a know piece. I think that's Passacaglia by Handel Halvorsen. Though the pattern is for the right hand, at least you are actually playing a piece and kind of enjoy it. Thank you!!
What delightful videos that you make, Lisa. Such warmth. Anyway, will try your technique, at least on the Hanon's that I'm working on at present, 1-4. I do realize that #6 provides a better framework for focusing on the wrist-rock but it seems that the technique can be applied to those also, even though they are somewhat more arpeggio-like. Number 3 might be the hardest to do with the wrist. I will eventually get to number 6. Again, thank you for another wonderful exercise. I now can do yours and Dave's drumeo exercise(s) in all 12 keys and am now working on the mirror of it, i.e. octaves in the right hand and chords in the left. It is surprising on how foreign that feels.
If I practice this drill for 10 minutes every day. How long will it take to get to that super fast speed you demonstrated? I know it's different for everyone but perhaps if you could share how long it took you when you were learning, that would provide some insight. Thank you 😊
I freakin LOVE YOU! Everything about you that is... Seriously! You are a great teacher and of course being super cute makes going thru these practice assignments pleasant and enjoyable. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am slowly tackling each of your videos as to not rush the process. Thanks again for being YOU! - - - xoxo
I love piano and your lessons...but I have to say as I dont know if anyone has ever said but you are super likeable and really hot, I want my wife to have your hairstyle it's so nice and great colour

I just found Pianote & I just love it. Lisa's spirit helps me keep motivated and I love the weekly check-in list, I'm printing it right now.
I’ve been slacking in learning all my Hanons but now I’m gonna make a effort to continue! Thank you!
This taught me better than my piano teacher who taught me for 3 years, and forced me to learn on simply piano
Glad to help :)
Can you really learn well in Simply piano? I just started few days back.

No it didnt, made me pay, had to quit it
Except your teacher would make you do this hands togerher at some point.
I love your tips... thanks for the positive energy

Great tips, especially 1) using the wrist rather than muscling the fingers, and 2) thinking ahead. Thanks for posting this!

Good tips! 1:49 exactly😀, economise movements, no need to do excessive movements which aren’t going to contribute to the playing
unless its dancing!

What a coincidence, I'm currently at No. 6 - although I'm far from this speed. Thanks for sharing these helpful tips!
good timing!
This exercise remind me to Handel Halvorsen - Passacaglia. It's very beautiful and romantic music
Very nice video i like it 👌 ❤
Good speed exercise. lot going on in those forearm muscles. Thank you.
They are some of the most important muscles!!
Hello maam I just love your teaching, could you give training on targetting the 4th finger strengthening of both hands
Nice video. Do you think that eating well helps in performance? I have noticed a differance for myself.
Yes, absolutely! Eating well is going to help your mind AND your body play better at the piano! (And you might get a little less frustrated in practice too!)
Cool💞
This is a brilliant exercise. Thank you so much! But try playing it upside down too. It’s more challenging that way in either hand.
Thank you! I think the next step is to play it in all the scales :)
Exactly, that s how they practice Hanon in Russia

Playing at minimum what bpm can be considered as pretty fast speed?
Roland fp-10 or Korg B2 for the first piano ? 😀 Give advice pls 😃
Kinda leaning on the FP-10 because its got the best keys around. Super nice to play.

Ohh thankyou 🌟
I find it strange that the hanon says to play with the finger high and deliberate. That's pretty hard to do when you're playing fast.
I am counting myself how many times I hit the guy at 6, I keep hitting it 4 times until I get satisfied and move on! LOL
