Seems like people are completely ignoring the explanation. LISTEN!! to what he says at :30 also 1:48-2:08 and 4:25 and you will get the whole purpose of the video. This is a great video!! Very well explained. Please keep posting
Yes is this one of the most easiest beats to play as a begining drummer. But what people are not understanding is that he is actually trying to explain what made this groove so great. THE SUBTLETIES!!
He visto varios videos sobre Back in Black; muy buenos todos, incluso, los de menor calidad, vale el esfuerzo PERO, sin lugar a dudas este video es el mejor tutorial que he visto; claro, sencillo y efectivo. ¡Felicidades!
I am 11 years old and i started playing the drums september of last year. I dont do any drum lessons and i cant read sheet music at all. Most of the time in this vid I had no idea what you were talking about but i could play this song I just wanted to see if I had done anything wrong. Great video keep up the good work
thank god a famous and talented drummer like this guy understands and recognizes that phil rudd's beats aren't just simple beginner music. i hate when people (mostly ignorant arrogant pricks who think they're good at drums) say "oh ac/dc drum beats are so easy!" yeah, well lets see you play with as much feel, rhythm, and backbeat as phil rudd and then you can say its easy. oh and by the way, phil rudd can probably keep time better than all of you who insult his simplistic style.
Phil Rudd is one talented guy too. He can keep time perfectly and drop a solid beat for ages. Any drummer can play fast or loud but it takes a skilled drummer to keep perfect time. Also AC/DC doesn't repeat themselves. They can just take the three same notes and create fifty different chord progressions that are upbeat and just rock. Anyone who appreciates good music writen by talented people appreciates AC/DC.
I WAS TOLD THAT IF YOU LEARN THE BASICS AND CAN PLAY AC/DC, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY ANYTHING OR ANYTHING IN THE METAL SCENE - THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS - I HAVE ONLY 3 HOURS OF LEARNING BUT ALREADY HAVE FIGURED OUT HOW TO PLAY 4 SONGS - PROBABLY BECAUSE MUSIC RUNS IN MY FAMILY AND I ALREADY CAN PLAY GUITAR SO IT COMES NATURAL - I SUBBED TO LEARN FROM THE BEST :)
@spartanassain Phil Rudd has one of the deepest pockets in all of rock. This guy touches on that. Any fool can play fast but only the best can go deep.
I've been teaching a young fellow this song....hes doing really well although there are some tricky parts....thanks for the tip regarding the hi hat idea I'll pass it on 😁
You're really good at explaining .. but I'm Italian and I can not understand everything you say .. can you explain the part after the initial six bars that are equal? (I hope to have everything spelled correctly) Thanks in advance!
What you don't tell but played: On the accent on the fourth notes on the HiHat, you have to release the pressure from the left foot (lifting the toes). So you can make the accent notes a bit longer.
Verry nice studio u have there! =D But dont u think that back in black is way too easy for making tutorial? I mean If u can play the normal comp ( hihat and bass hihat hihat and snare and so on) u can play back in black..
@earache70 i agree with you you can make amazing grooves out of simple stuff and if you dont try and play simple things chances are you wont even be able to play them
that's right. people tend to focus on their skills, rather than to entertain others. hose kind of people are egomaniacs, they only go like ,,look at me, how great i am!''
bayi159357 i used to be a guitar player and holy shit was marty a good teacher it doesnt matter what song it was he made me know what to do like other teachers they act elegant and "im all smart" but he act cool btw i agree with you
tbh you could check tab website like 911 tabs sometimes has drum tabs too so you might try that but that may not be as accurate. Btw y the hell r ppl rating this as a bad comment lol?
ofc he doesn't lose the beat when he has same beat in all songs and it's the same beat what u first learn when u start drumming. anyone could replace phil rudd
he was replaced. he wasnt in acdc for several albums...Flick of the Switch, Fly On The Wall, Who Made Who, Blow Up Your Video and The Razors Edge were not Phil Rudd...they were all Simon Wright except Razors Edge which was Phil Rudd.
Seems like people are completely ignoring the explanation.

This is a great video!!
Very well explained.

Some people call Phil's drumming "easy", but he always has this funky "push" with the hat that's not easy to duplicate.

The most useful drum information I've ever seen! Thank you DRUM!

Really good lesson. For a noob like me, it's as simple as you could've made it. Thanks. You are the Marty Schwartz of drumming! :)

Great video...I really like the shoulder tip technique. BTW...how can I see the comment string in order? The dates seem to jump around a bit.
Great video, thanks for taking the time, as a beginner it is a big help.
Those cymbals were a 22" Zildjian Hi Bell Dry, 15" & 17" Dark K Zildjian Crashes and 13" K Zildjian Hi Hats
DRUM!
Phil Rudd lays it down on this. One of the all time great beats.

Shoulder/tip, great tips dude. Great stuff. from a slighty mature beginner of 33.
Wally says, "Those cymbals were a 22" Zildjian Hi Bell Dry, 15" & 17" Dark K Zildjian Crashes and 13" K Zildjian Hi Hats"
Thanks DRUM!
Yes, if you want the music we'll be posting it for all these lessons in a couple of months.
PH At DRUM!
I'm 17 and you've already kicked my ass as far as drums go.
There's a long list of requests for AC/DC tunes. We'll try to get to some of them.
Keep cool, SuperDali75,
Some people are beginners and need the instruction.
you need bass drum splits in there occasionally at the end off some bars there's a bass drum on 4+a on the a
Very informational .... Good work!

Its just the same thing throughout the whole song
Yeah! Now it's too easy. I can play Back in Black with drums. This is an excellent drums teacher.
You just blew my mind!
What you don't tell but played: On the accent on the fourth notes on the HiHat, you have to release the pressure from the left foot (lifting the toes). So you can make the accent notes a bit longer.
Very interesting! Thanks for posting that.

The Drum Guys

tbh you could check tab website like 911 tabs sometimes has drum tabs too so you might try that but that may not be as accurate.
Btw y the hell r ppl rating this as a bad comment lol?
Did it take you over a year to think of that comeback?
0:52 Uh, excuse me. One and three on the bass drum and two on the f-f-two and four one the snare drum.
I have been known for that. :)
ofc he doesn't lose the beat when he has same beat in all songs and it's the same beat what u first learn when u start drumming. anyone could replace phil rudd
i learned all the parts for this song for my band man all the parts sound so stupid but when you put them all together its like hell ya bitch
he was replaced. he wasnt in acdc for several albums...Flick of the Switch, Fly On The Wall, Who Made Who, Blow Up Your Video and The Razors Edge were not Phil Rudd...they were all Simon Wright except Razors Edge which was Phil Rudd.
