Great video :-) Since I saw this video, I use the Hi-Hat the same way as you demonstrate! I did this video too! I can only use my right arm so it is one handed.
its some what tricky to get it down but keep on learning and it will come some beats are tricky for me but its still a good song to learn and i love taking on songs to paly as a chanllge and just to plain have fun thats what its all about
Phil does not show, which makes him unique, plus his rythms keep up with Angus and Malcolm without over doning things you know? Nicko is another one of my faves...His high energy gets me going.
This is very cool. I am a drummer and also a singer. I agree 100% with the comment above this. I am always open and there is always something new to learn. I thank all of you out there for the opportunity to learn more and inspiring me about creativity. Check out my drum cover, "Gimme Shelter." Look under Diana Lynn Howard. I am looking forward to working on this song! Thank you.
Yeah, but he doesn't need to be a flashy drummer, flashy drummers are great for things like Zeppelin or the who, but AC/DC are more straightforward heavy rock n roll. Phil does what he needs to.
Exactly, the average middle schooler learning drums plays this just as well! Complexity? What the hell is he talking about. This is as simple as it gets. Break down Mike Portnoy or Neil Peart! THEN I will be impressed!
I'm sorry but that sounds slow and laboured compared to the studio original. If you try to scientifically dissect genius, sometimes you find it to be self-defeating.
Today on DRUM!, we'll teach you how to play overly simple beats so that you can be overshadowed by obnoxious guitarists! Learn how to be a backdrop for other people's skill! Learn how to sell yourself short!
I totally disagree with this bro. Just because his drumming compliments all the guitar playing does not mean he is a drum god. If he was a good drummer, he would be busting out more complicated beats and fills, but ones that still fit in with the song and compliment the other members in the band \0_0/
This is a great instructional break down of a classic rock and roll beat by a great rock and roll band!
Thanks Charlie, PIT and DRUM!!
so simple yet so great. phil is badass
the DRUM group really help me out a lot when trying to learn songs.
Really great for those drummers that are just starting to put beats together and want to play a song. Awesome 5/5
This is one of the best one's out there, I try to learn all the time and this guys instructions are nice, cool
this whole album made me believe i could learn the drums. It's simple and to the point.
This song is so easy but so fun to play.
PHIL IS MY IDLE!!!!!!!!! He is the whole reason why I play drums.
Awesome thank you, great explanation of groove

this rocks ill try it and work with it
it's all in the hi hat, the difference is astonishing!
3:25 Franchise Fill -trademark(R) A simple fill, yet so great, off of a great album too.
set your watch to Rudd's rhythm because he is a time machine.
nice lesson!
then who made the drum beat for this song chris or phil
I didn't realise how technical AC/DC was!
Definitely better quality with an overhead microphone guys.
PH
nice, very helpfull.
@cookiegod39 yeah, my tutor is a grand dad and still says he's learning all the time, I am 11 and been learning neary half my life so far LOL!
nice lesson
yo should make a full cover of the song
He left the band -83 and Back In Black came -80. So yes, he was in the band.
wow✨
Phil does not show, which makes him unique, plus his rythms keep up with Angus and Malcolm without over doning things you know? Nicko is another one of my faves...His high energy gets me going.
I'm playing drums and this song
cool lesson and all but why is this featured over millions of other lessons?
Stick around, because later in the series we're going to have James and Kirk from metallica show you how to downpick on the e string.
1:32 Yea I caught that little ghost note, now you're getting too technical for Rudd.
I'm just joking but i just wanted to point it out
if you mean flams in the break before the second verse, try again, because the answer is no. only a flam on the snare...
rudd's good.. like Scotti said, 90% of ACDC songs have the simple KICK SNARE KICK SNARE beat. he makes it sound good though
cool
@dark0hell agreed :D
@Murmaidergrind66 LOL so true
WOW!!! like the drums to this song is so difficult! fuck me running!
@brianmcclane congratualtions, do you want a cookie?
He looks like a young Danny Carey!
hey now what about who made who and blow up ur video?
its cool, you don't expect amatures will get it
I went from watching, "How to make cool COD Black ops emblems, to Freddiew videos, to the price is right, and now this........ O_o
I'll take Danny Carry any day

you being a bass player explains it.

i play drums
i second that..
except i only got 5 years under my belt hah
He's definitely not the best, but his drum parts do compliment the music, which is all you really have to do. I guess.
dude drums are a back up instrument... how often do you see someone just jam on drums and sing it's ok though i feel your pain on bass
Phil was hired in February 1975.
Phil Rudd was a fucking "human metronome." Bill Fisher
Ya I get you know your "Rim Shot." However.. ruclips.net/video/zakKvbIQ28o/видео.html Standard snare hit.
By the way.. Nice Shooting.
big cymbals... 14 hats and 20 crashes 22 ride... at least xD
yeah right you think you can take Daney Carey
no he doesn't. believe me, I know my Rudd-stuff.
hahaha
dude you only talked about the song you didnt even show me how to play it!
yeah, rock music would sound great if the emphasis was on the drumming -_-
its cool, we all know Phils just an average 4/4 beat drummer, thats why he was so easy replace back in the eightys when he got booted, NOT!
i dont understand drums there cool but i dont under stand them at all - im i a bass player
@ironmaidenNicko666 No no no I mean I would rather have Danny Carry than this guy. I can't drum
lol......this is silly,......yeah it's a classic but whatever it's still a beginner song.
