Can we take a moment to appreciate that MaCenna stopped at least twice mid-move to adjust the camera angle for us while bringing the desk inside the house?

You know, if you are looking for a really miminial, not looking like a desk, look, that open side drawer can be a great place to store your laptop and then pull it out when needed! Then the desk can stay lookiing like a writing spot when not in use! Or maybe making a drawer that opens when you pull down so the laptop can come out? Lovely purchase!

I damaged A few discs in my back for life carrying a desk upstairs to our bedroom to surprise my senior in college husband.
I had to cut the leg off an old desk to remove it once. It would not go around the corner and I wasn't going to lose the fight! 😂😂

Yep! Kept saying, "MaCenna! You forgot to buy a couple of straps with ratcheting buckle-things! I was also worried when she whipped around the corner that she was going to snap one of the legs off! 😂 Next I was afraid she would run over Kinsley or trip over her and drop the desk. Then I told myself to calm down - it's MaCenna and I swear she's charmed!

I'm feeling your joy. I bought an antique sideboard (buffet) off marketplace today. For only £80! It is absolutely the sideboard of my dreams, I literally gasped when the pictures appeared on my phone. I'm so happy! Your desk is beautiful too ☺️

I bought two beautiful landscape paintings with gorgeous wood frames for $20 and $10. The $20 one was 48 inches long! I feel like no one in my life understands how fabulous that is the way Macenna would!
The desk is stunning! An idea if you’re hoping to make the bay window a reading area, you could move the desk in dining room and make that your office since you’re not using it to eat in. You could also move your round table in the bay window for a change. Just ideas… I love moving rooms around to reimagine then as another space.

Since it is a desk, that hole is an awesome place to put a charging station! It is out of sight, and the perfect shape for a power strip and the space in the drawer should make it easy to hide excess cords!! just a thought! Love you and everything you do!
Max Sold is another place to look for previously owned furniture. I purchased some vintage chairs last summer for $60 each. The Habitat For Humanity Restores are great, too. I bought a window and a metal door for my shed there.

The open missing drawer space could be to stow away your laptop or other electronics. And maybe a pretty basket somewhere for headphones and other stuff that you need but can clutter your desktop. So happy for you to have found such a statement piece of furniture! 🥰
You need to get some Murphy's Oil Soap! It conditions the wood as you clean!
You could totally DIY a cover for the missing drawer (or even build a new drawer lol!)
Just what I was thinking as she wiped it down with straight up Pine-Sol! Murphy's mixed with with a little warm water, wipe a part and dry quickly and work in sections. Then hit it with a coat of Howard's Feed & Wax.
AWESOME Find! From someone who moves around a lot of antique/vintage furniture, be careful as to not scratch your beauty! Use a towel/washcloth, something to protect the wood that is laying against your dolly. Metal like that is not forgiving on your wood surfaces.

A grand find ! I was looking for a French writing desk forever ; but , they were all so insanely expensive on eBay & Etsy & local antique / vintage stores (+$1000- , that I simply bought a beautiful mahogany antique table for around $600- . I love my table ; but , wowza !!! Kudos to you !
Yeah to the new desk! I envision a brass lamp [maybe textured even] with a beefy base to it. I am stubborn and wouldn't have waited for Romeo either to get it in the house. We need a full length view of your new dress. You two looked great and I am sure that you had a nice time.

Smarter not harder is my motto!! I've moved a LOT of heavy stuff, even up and down stairs, that men were amazed I did by myself, and it's all because I used my brain and didn't need the brawn!

I get excited when i can do a 2 person job by myself. Here are two tips i learned the hard way.
1. Get coulme adjustible tie down straps. That will help you be sure tall heaving things will be secure while moving. Especially when thee object's weight may not be evenly distributed.
2. The back of a dolly/hand cart is open. I measured the opening and cut a piece of plywood to coner the hole. When you are movin heavy things, bricks and pavers come to mind attach the plywood oner the hole with adjustible straps, then nothing can fall through.
I'm 73 and still able to move almost anything with my dolly. I love her and all her adjustible straps. ❤

That desk is out of this world, and it looks so you! I feel like the original owners may have had a piece of furniture looking like it-it’s so perfect in your house!! Why don’t you take some wood pieces and build a laptop holder for your desk? You could give it some sort of old world finish. Building it for you would be a piece of cake. You and Romeo were truly beautiful people dressed for the wedding, but I wish you would’ve showed a full length view of your dress.

Loving the desk 😮 as far as the The mystery stains on your pants check your steering wheel. That’s what happen to me a couple times and I realized that when I was getting out of my car my leg was hitting the steering wheel it’s just needed to be cleaned, Just a thought . thanks for sharing.

Love your desk and your dress. My husband bought me a similar desk, a number of years ago. It is a place for my sewing machine. A storage cube fits underneath and can serve as a footstool or large pincushion as needed.
