Before I moved here permanently I used to buy a load of stuff in Mercadona on my visits to Spain and take it back home, maybe you can do the same next time you're here 😊
@@MillennialsWithMoney Ahh, yes I did this as well. Last May this year, before going back to Indonesia, I purchased chorizo, nuts, chocolates, olives, muesli, etc.
I have a very funny story, last April this year I was travelling across Europe. When I was travelling from Gothenburg to Oslo with FlixBus, the border officer asked everyone to get out of the bus and there was a police dog that keep sniffing at me. The border control officer asked me to the interrogation room and asked me where am I from, why I travel to Norway, and what do I do for a living, and finally he strip me out. He also asked me if I know the reason he interrogate me, obviously, he thought I'm bringing and using drugs. I explained to him that I don't smoke, I don't drink and I don't use drugs. After he continues to search my bag and he found a Mercadona's Chorizo in my bag, that's why the police dog keeps sniffing at me. Then Norway border control didn't apologize and just let me go. LOL
Wherever I am in the world, I know that Lidl (pr. Leedle in German), or Aldi, will have extremely competitive prices, so they are always my first port of call.
I have a Carrefour 6 mins walk and a Lidl 2 mins walk from my place and I prefer Lidl. I find the bread and own brand cheeses are far better at Lidl (for my Australian tastes) and I can get most of our family stuff from there too. Though I do go to Carrefour for their Tortilla con Cebolla (so good), flans and Soft Drinks as they have a better “branded” variety. I don’t have a Mercadona walking distance to me, wish I did though everyone raves about it.
Worst shopping list ever. Try something with cleaning products and other items, like seeds, nuts, toiletries, fresh herbs, baby products, baked goods, breads, seafood and more items for example sesame seeds on Carrefour was Robbery, in Mercadona was 10 x cheaper. You have selected all food items which supermarkets will match. Do it again with a more broadened shopping lists.
Which supermarket in Spain is your favourite? Leave a comment and let me know!
Those 3 are our main ‘go to’ supermarkets. We also use Aldi for more specialist items. Great content, thanks !
Thanks for watching!! Aldi has some very good chocolate 😁
I love Mercadona, they are easily accessible. I enjoy their selection of chorizo, nuts, snacks, etc. Ahh I miss Spain already :)

Always a good shout! My parents took this approach when they visited me in Spain this year 😁

Good analysis, I agree particularly regarding the branded variety. You should definitely pay a visit to a Mercadona if you ever get the chance!
