Crocheting is definitely worth learning. There are many RUclips how-to videos. It's actually very easy to learn (5 minutes per stitch type like chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet) and you will improve quickly with practice. I learned when I was 16 (learned knitting when 6) and have crocheted as lot since because it is relaxing (serotonin is released). It's useful for making cords, bags, throws, but not great for clothes. This is a great idea; I will make a granny square mini afgan like this.
OMG... this is where the money's at lol!! I will never look at dollhouse miniatures in the same way. I will definitely be on the lookout from now on. Hi Dalton! 🤗 Thanks Kat 😀 Another great video
I’m loving these big sales videos! I’ve been selling 9 years and am learning so much! Thank you for taking the time away from your business to share this research knowledge. I know it takes time doing this! I’m kicking myself that I didn’t purchase several tiny pottery jugs at an estate sale yesterday. I looked at them and passed them by! Not again! Thanks again!
I went to a farm auction on the Great River Road along the MIssissippi River in Wisconsin many years ago now, but the owner was a big time collector of dollhouse and doll sized miniatures. There were hundreds of boxes of the stuff. I was able to find some wonderful miniature 1800's enamelware cookware, from a confetti enamel teapot that was 2" tall to tiny serving spoons, spatulas, frying pans and other kitchenware!!! I sold most of it on eBay years ago for big money. I think I got $400 for the teapot if I remember right. At another auction I was able to find a dollhouse miniature feinting couch that had been hand made from tiny bits and pieces of scrap wood and was upholstered in vintage velvet. It also dated from the 1800s. I also sold that years ago for many hundreds of dollars!!!
Wowsers! Who would’ve ever thought!? I have a miniature rocking chair with the velvet seeds that I think is our doll house. However it stands about 7 inches tall is made of wood.
About 6 years ago, I found a small box with all kinds of very old dollhouse miniatures, including 4 ornate chandeliers. I paid 50 plus auction fees. There were tiny food items, cutlery, all kinds of tiny things. The most expensive chandelier sold for over 400. Not too many of those finds around! This was a fun video!
Love. Love. Love your videos!!! I learn so much from you. Also, now I’m REALLY bummed out cause I passed on a miniature Royal Doulton tea service at an auction b/c I didn’t think it would resell. Someone picked it up for nothing. Note to self: continue to grow your knowledge to be successful 🎯
Thank you for sharing your valuable time and knowledge Kat! Best part of your videos is your precious little one...he is so well behaved and polite...I hope I don't sound like a weirdo...I just love him to pieces, gives me my fix when I'm missing my grandson becomes unbearable. Love your content!
The prices of these are unbelievable. I'm keeping an eye out for miniatures. I do have a couple of miniature picture frames, pewter that I'm searching for solds. Thanks for sharing Kat
That afgan is crazy. I crochet and knit. Taught myself when my oldest was little. I made her dolls and webkins hats and scarfs and blankets. I may have to try tiny dollhouse afghans. Lol.
I have thousands of these things in bins that I sold at the shows before covid, of course some are plastic, some are glass, some are ceramic, So glad to. See the tiny items getting some credit ;-)
I loved watching your video about I do have some and it's from it's carved rosettes on it and it's in an off-white color with gold trimming in the roses that are carved on it or a rose color and it was given to me by my brother he bought it from an estate sale more than 10-15 years ago another State hearing Texas matching pieces that is the bedroom set made the same way with the carved rosettes and it's in the same color
These are amazing and I am so bummed today because yesterday I passed up a bunch of doll house furniture at a garage sale, the only item I can recall is a silver wicker couch/loveseat. I didn't think it was real silver but I didn't really look at it either. Never again will I just pass it by!!! Thanks for sharing, have a terrific weekend. Hi Dalton
The Crawford Armoire also had the Winterthur name and logo. Winterthur was one of the homes of the DuPont family and is located in Delaware and that is their logo. It is now a historic home open to the public. I wonder if that piece is a replica of one in the actual house possibly originally purchased in their gift shop.
Again really enjoying video's.I have lots of dollhouse furniture. My grandmother used the old wooden TVs and turned them into dollhouses with lighting. I did look some items up about 10 years ago on eBay and they were selling for 1000 then . Thanks again
I so appreciate your sharing these videos. I'm thinking I am under pricing my miniatures in my booth. I had not considered they might have been dollhouse miniatures. Thanks again.!!
You inspired me to go digging through our storage garage for the dollhouse furniture I had as a child in the 1970s. I only have a few pieces left, and it's nothing fancy, but I've been meaning to sell it for years. I have one piece that is a tiny Asian jade horse figure that I hope will do well. I'm sure it's handmade. Thanks for reminding me that miniatures can bring decent money.
Thanks for another great video Kat. Everything that you showed is absolutely amazing. One thing that I noticed is the 1st bird you showed is actually a cockatiel not a cockatoo. I raised them for many years and love the orange patches on their cheeks.
Wonderful video! For me, the Eugene Kupjack piece is the one I would love to own. (Can't afford any of them). Kupjack is famous for making the miniatures for the Thorne Rooms in the 1930's, and made the silver items also. His sons continued as miniaturists.
This is my niche, lol! Artisan miniatures. I was actually expecting to see comps from my store here, but I don't think there were any (unless I missed them). :)
And I have the matching set now cuz it all matches to the bedroom now with the bed spread and it's beautiful but I just need to make a mattress for the but I would never get rid of that cuz I thought the rest of it here in town for like $8 and it was the whole bedroom set and it's from Germany
Miniature iron wood stoves were sometimes made as door to door sales models for real iron wood stove companies. As such, some models will be rarer than others, as some would be mass produced for doll houses but others would be used as sales models for the full size appliance, which would mean far fewer made usually. I remember my mom having one of these.
These are Amazing! Thanks for doing the research and informing us. It looks like a lot of work. I used to sell on EBay and the last time I did, they held back the customer’s money for 21 days. They said it was because I hadn’t sold anything lately. I didn’t think that made sense. I don’t know whether to try again or not. I’m trying to sell clothes and purses on Poshmark and nothing is moving.
New to you, but researching. Do you wash, dry clean, soak, or spray your linen, cloth items, blankets before selling. Love your knowledge and experience.
With my luck I would lose one of these microscopic $300 items before I had a chance to get it sold and shipped, lol! Thank you for another awesome video!
Just thought about it a good place to look for things like that is in those little grab bags.I have at my American thrift store them put a bunch of little things in a bag for like $1.99 or 2.99 I bet you can find a lot of stuff in those.😊😊
I used to collect this stuff and have, somewhere, one of those dollhouses that has not been put together. I was looking up the dishes and furniture one night and was surprised at how much they sold for. People take this stuff seriously.
I just bought a cast iron stove with all kinds of accessories at an estate sale for $29... Gees, maybe I should list mine for $1k - I planned on keeping it, but if I sell it for that amount, I'll just buy another LOL
Hi Kat. I love your videos and I actually do have doll house furniture from my mom’s doll house collection. How do you box it up if you sell it? I have an eBay store and am inspired to sell some of this but I usually sell and ship things I can easily put in an envelope.
Don’t pass up large Shadowbox or trinket displays. I found one that was a diorama of a room filled with dollhouse miniatures. I broke it down sold the empty Shadowbox for what I paid for the whole lot. The money was all the little tiny treasures inside. It was very profitable but would have been impossible to ship it as I found it.
I make miniatures. I don't know what area you're in, but around here, the "flipping" consists of someone only wants to give me a quarter or 50 cents for something, but they want me to buy it for 39.99.
Hi Kat I'd like to know if you are able to tell me the value of this miniature chair. It was my Mom's who was born in 1923. I know it is old but, just not sure of value. I've seen similar for 229.00 for 1 chair.
Kay can you please tell me what I am doing wrong with shipping. All my money has been going on shipping. I am afraid to use calculated shipping because it might scare my buyers away. I live in Florida and if I ship to California I never make money. I do everything from my phone so I just write my labels. I have got to find a way to ship without losing money.
Easy solution, switch to calculated it's the only way I do .... So, why be scared if they buy there and you make no money anyways??? SWITCH IT we're in the corner of the country we can't afford to cover cali shipping which is where a ton of our stuff seems to go
So my mom just brought me a bunch of dollhouse items. Like itsy bitsy things. I knew immediately that there could possibly be some things worth some money. She could use it. So my question really is… where do you go to get these things appraised? Or do you have a direct link that I could maybe send some photos? I’m very curious to see what they could possibly be worth. I have quite a few different items.
I'm not sure where specific appraisers are I've not heard of any. What I would do is join a group for dollhouse furniture collectors on Facebook and post pictures if they don't have names on them if they do simply search ebay for the name and look for the piece
I have seen them,, bought one put together, resold to dealer they sold it to another dealer all as I watch my $10 yard sale dollhouse turn into $150.00
I noticed some of the items had 1:12 scale. Was that marked on the piece? How did they know to put that in the description?Love these videos. Thanks, Kat.
I have some gualart miniature charis sets and I cant find it anywhere on the internet. I can only find limonges from France. I need help please 🙏 I know they are worth money bc I found 1 peice similar that went for 100 and i have the whole set

Yeah they do that with new sellers or those that haven't sold in a while. Poshmark I wouldn't get sales without the program that I use
I just bought a thrifting haul for $150 and find a Gregory lonewolf indigenous seed pot that goes for $600-800
Plus 20 pieces of bespaq pieces
Nice
@@TheNurseFlipper your video definitely helped with determining what to sell individually, a lot, and set! Thank you 😊

Hi Kat. I love your videos and I actually do have doll house furniture from my mom’s doll house collection. How do you box it up if you sell it? I have an eBay store and am inspired to sell some of this but I usually sell and ship things I can easily put in an envelope.
Just wrap in bubble wrap and in a box
@@TheNurseFlipper where do I get all these boxes lol.
@deighfrost3023 you can re use Amazon boxes or ask neighbors. I buy mine off off ebay and Amazon

Hi I was wondering if you could give me a ballpark figure of what you pay your listers? Trying to figure out a fair price.
$2 per listing for photos and draft. I edit title and do all pricing and research

I look on worth point as they have ten years of history
Small things are hardest to make
Yes for sure
I would bet good money the Poodle was made by Alice Zinn.
How do you list for so much on ebay the lisinga I seen don't sell for much. I have a few that are nice
It depends on the maker
I have seen them,, bought one put together, resold to dealer they sold it to another dealer all as I watch my $10 yard sale dollhouse turn into $150.00
nice!
Thanks for a great video, might these be found on the bag walls in the thrift stores?
I think so!
Or at.the bottom of kid toy boxes at yard sales
What do they mean by saying or using thre word Artisan?
that it is a piece designed by a artist. I use artisan for pottery pieces myself
I noticed some of the items had 1:12 scale. Was that marked on the piece? How did they know to put that in the description?Love these videos. Thanks, Kat.
I typically look at measurements of other pieces like mine, but someone said 1" = 1ft
