I just wanted to say that I'm actually really enjoying the shorter videos you're making for youtober this year Kalyn! (as well as the longer ones ofc hehe). I think they're giving me this really lovely and nostalgic feeling of what youtube was like in my teens where the videos were shorter and didn't have the pressure of being perfectly produced

My mom died in 2016 and I was extremely depressed and lonely. I remember I was nonstop binge watching your videos to motivate me to still be productive and keep going. Years later I’m so much happier, with many friends and a loving boyfriend, but you honestly saved my life back then ❤️❤️. More than you would ever know. Thank you Kalyn

I love how you could be honest and also kind when talking about yourself from so long ago. It’s easy to insult the selves that we were before we knew better and I’m glad you can look back with more wisdom and still have empathy.
I swear I still watch all of your old videos because it reminds me of that time in my life too. We’ve all grown so much 😭 love seeing your youtober videos now and then!
I actually would love to see those kind of Youtober videos once again (like the make up, fall decor, and outfit ones) they were quite inspiring and different. But I'm glad you are doing much better now. They were comforting videos, I was quite ill from 2013 till 2018 to the point I didn't have the strenght to stay up for more than 2 hours due to muscles pains and problems and when I was up I had to exercise...not very fun times, but Youtober and vlogs helped me a lot, I felt less isolated and had fun despite everything.

omg the nostalgia. i found you about this time when i was trying to get some control over my life, when i was in the heat of a miserable job (that i left only in late summer 2021) and nowhere close to the person i wanted to be. it took me the longest while to come around, and just loved the vibe you had in this era, and in the crummiest of ways, its comforting to know that i wasn’t alone in my depression and mental health struggles, when you’re my age and knowing you were going through it too.
it shows that you can be in the deepest throws of mental health, and many can be none the wiser, based on how we try to make sure we don’t show it.
i’m in such a better place, and i’ve loved popping in and seeing your growth!

Omg I remember this videos soooo VIVIDLY all of the sudden. I'm 22 rn and its sooo weird that you were 22 at that time. Times have changed sooo much, the world in general as well, drastically. I was 15 at that time and really thought I knew it all, girl was I wrong 😂 this was almost like a magical experience... like a little time machine to little 15 year old me ❤

I think I joined in 2017, bc I don’t remember seeing Kingston, I think you were already in Toronto. I found myself getting teary eyed watching this … not just because we’re seeing Lil Kalyn, but it made me think back to where the rest of us were then too. Look how far we’ve come! 🥹 I will always love Youtober or Talktober or whatever it’s called. I ain’t goin anywhere. 🍁 👻 ☕️ The amount of work and time that’s gone into this year’s prep is very evident. From topics, to graphics, to final product. Fall has always been my favorite season, but this series has been a staple of it since I found you. ❤

I have rewatched YouTober 2017 more times than I can count- it got me through some VERY tough times in my life. In general all videos/vlogs from that time period did. I still watch them. Thank you for all you’ve done over the years!

I love the comment you made about how you felt like you were much more confident back then in a way, and that you feel like you lost your spark a bit. Ive been really lost these last few years, and I definitely feel like ive lost mine. & I would be so hard on myself as to why I'm getting older, but I'm less confident than I've ever been in a way....and I always thought it was supposed to be the opposite - you're supposed to be more confident as you age. So thank you for making me feel like I'm not the only one going through this.❤

Watching your first video back resonated with me 100%. I was always like this - either feeling like a bossbabe and confident, or feeling riddled with self-doubt and low. At 33 I was diagnosed with ADHD which has now made me realize it was just how I was wired and trying to cope. Love how you have managed to create a safe space purely from creating these beautiful Youtober videos 🥰
I love that even though you're watching your older videos and reacting to them that you're showing up with so much grace and softness for your younger self. I feel like so often I see similar videos where the person is just so painfully judgemental of where they were or who they used to be and it's so nice to see the opposite of that.

This video is actually really therapeutic. I think we could all benefit from watching back our old selves and taking things away from it and putting things into perspective. Also sometimes we have the limiting believe that we haven't really grown that much or got stuck somewhere or are behind in life, but there is actually an entire world between what we used to be, think, feel or behave like and who we have become up until now. I don't remember exactly when I started to watch your videos (maybe around 2017-ish) but I do remember it was after stumbling upon your podcast at the time and I immediately loved it and then went to follow you on YT as well. I started watching you in 2017, and I did watch Youtober in 2016. I fell in love with you then, and I've grown with you throughout the years. Thank you, for your cozy content.
My grandma, the glue that held our family together passed away in October 2016. The morning I got the call she had passed, I also got a fb message from some rando girl my boyfriend worked with, that said he was cheating on me with her. We lived together. So when I confronted him before he left for work, he beat the shit out of me and kicked me out of our home. Youtober got me through some shit for sure. I have lived vicariously through your videos for a while and even now, as a mom to an almost 6 year old, I still do. Your videos make me long for the baby years again.

Idk if anyone has told you or if you’ve ever talked about it but I SUPER appreciate that your fall decor is still around after all this time because they are pieces that you truly enjoy and aren’t just trendy. I discovered your channel very shortly after you moved to Toronto, so I don’t think I’d seen these videos before. I loved that looking back to them surprised you as well or wasn’t quite what you were expecting.
In 2016 I was 29 years old, living in London (England), and having some of the best and not-so-great moments of my life (not saying ‘worst’ as that definitely has to go to 2021-2022, for health reasons). 2016-2018 were definitely important years for me in discovering who I am and how I want to live my life as well. And discovering your channel was helpful in that, too.
I got sooo much nostalgia just watching the clips of your old 'Youtober' videos, I was just a teenager yet in 2016 and watching your videos really helped me out A LOT. My favs were most definitely your YouTober videos. Please don't EVER delete your old videos, I still go back and rewatch them, favorite parts of my teenage years🤍
I found you in early 2018 but I fell so much in love with your cozy content I went back and binged a lot of your old stuff too. it's really cool to see your reactions to them. honestly can't wait for the 2017 and 2018 reactions!

OMG Kalyn, through watching this I realized just how much you have influenced my life. I was 16 at the time, and I remember each one of these clips. I was literally thinking about the one in which you mentioned watching Vampire Diaries a few days ago, and I haven't seen that video for 7 years! I'm a content creator myself and I many times feel like I'm not reaching enough people. But then I look at myself and the way people like you influenced my life and I realize that you have so much influence without knowing it. I mean I'm a 23-year-old psychologist living in Croatia and you have no idea that you influenced my life for years. I just wanted to say thank you! This was the year I found you!! I am like 6 years older than you, and I thought you were so mature and insightful, I learnt a lot from you. I know that you felt lonely, but I did as well. I admired your resilience to create something beautiful with what you had. It was immensely inspiring. You inspired me to get my shit together and romanticize my life. That changed my whole perspective of existence, it made me grateful of whatever little I had. I hope you know that. We can impact people in a very positive way regardless of wether or not we feel like we’re crushing it.
I don’t remember when I started following you, but I definitely remember these vlogs. I remember binging the heck out of them and being envious of your hustle and your lifestyle. I always knew most things you see on the internet are not real, but hearing you explain your process and the real behind the scenes is a good reminder of that. I love that you have progressed to a different place in your life. I haven’t and I feel like a lot of the creators I followed during this timeframe I am no longer in sync with. Oh my god 2016 YouTober was my intro to you & your channel 🥹💕 Kalyn I have so much respect and love for you, Bentley, your family and gosh- you’re a phenomenal person. When you put your mind to it, set your intention to something you really gun for it. All these years you truly helped me 🥹 and when I was tearing down the broken and abused version of myself and started to rebuild YOU were the person who had their hand held out whenever I felt like giving up. You uplifted me and so many many others 💕 I truly mean it when I say I love you Kalyn. You’re the big sister I always always wanted- begged for. My older half sister never wanted me around which was heartbreaking but I’m 27 and I’m finally at peace with myself.
I can't remember the first of your videos I ever saw, I just know it was 2016 and I followed your adventures ever since! I'm a 94 too and I always found comfort in knowing that we were going through similar things at the same time. For example 2016 was also the all-time peak of my depression. And watching your videos used to bring me so much comfort that it makes me nostalgic in a weird way.
