2017 was the year I first discovered and came obsessed with your videos! It was also the same time I was in the second year of university and living away from my parents. Your content was so motivating to me during university, but it’s crazy to see how evolved I’ve become since then and have adopted a more “relaxed” approach to motivation, as opposed to the toxic “girl boss” way I was back then. Time flies.

Sometimes I go back to these videos just for the nostalgia.
It's funny to see how you, not knowing me, made such a huge difference in my life and was a catalyst of many changes I've been through, and for that I'll be forever grateful.
I found you in 2016 when I still lived in Brazil and had just spent a month in Arizona, I remember going through this process of reevaluating all my life when I came back and finding out that I was trapped in a life I didn't love. Didn't love my career path, didn't have many true friends, felt like I couldn't be myself and had just found out that the place I came from didn't satisfy me and there was a whole world to explore.
Your youtober 2017 was when I found out I wanted to move to Canada. And here I am, 4 years living in Ontario and it all started with your videos.
Thanks for sharing your life with us, seeing you live your authentic life, go through all these different eras and finding yourself gave me the courage to pursue my own path. 💜
I still love rewatching vlogs from when kalyn lived alone since I'm a military wife and spend all of my time alone I get ideas of ways to spend my time.
It is so nostalgic watching these videos because I’m now a mom with 3 kids but in this era I was in exactly the same place as you were In life in terms of living alone and I feel like in a weird way we grew up together. Watching these videos brings me back because I remember being in my old apartments and looking to you for inspiration. Thanks for always showing up as you are ❤

And I just wanted to say that it's sooo beautiful to see you look at your old self with so much love in this video!! Like the way a mother looks at her child.. The look in your eyes while watching your old self shows the work you've been doing the past years.. I'm so proud of you!! I started following you in that year and I remember looking at you with such inspiration and motivation to be better and do more. And now I still look at you with a lot of inspiration but just to be myself, to heal, to allow myself to find my way.

At the time I have just moved to a different country (didn’t know at the time it was the beginning of healing my trauma) and I remember I absolutely loved watching your videos. You have inspired my girl boss phase as I was very lonely and thought if I’ll be more productive and successful I will feel better 😂
Watching your videos feels like watching an old friend. I have also grown since then so it’s nice to listen to your perspective on those times too❤️
2017 is the year I started following you, I found your channel in July 2017 my mum had just passed away a couple of months before and I found joy and motivation by watching your videos since then I started using RUclips more, and like opened my eyes to the world of vlogging, lifestyle, and self-help videos which still motivate me and cheer me up❤❤ As someone suffering from anxiety and mental health issues, I felt happy that someone understands how I feel and that I am not alone in this.
Watching you now and seeing how far you have come, and how mature you are now makes me proud 😍 The part where you reacted about the San Francisco trip and feeling that you should have been more grateful or if you had filmed it now it would been different is a sign of how amazing, grounded, mature you are now ❤❤ You wouldn't have felt this grateful now without living that past experience and it applies to all of us.

I have always LOVED Youtober but this era is one of my favorites 🥰 I was so disorganized in every aspect of my life and couldn't figure out how to get out of the rut and these videos are SO inspiring! I'm so grateful you had the bravery to put yourself out there online because you absolutely helped my mental and physical health and my apartment had never looked so adorable 😅

WOW! Did not expect to be in my feels watching this video...I remember watching your videos and thinking "This is what I want to aspire to" (in the most sincere, chill way possible). This is the year that I started following you 😊 I was down a bit because I got a heart attack at a young age and I survived thank God but I found you and you kept me going and making me laugh and I always got up looking forward to seeing another video of you and in all you always kept going no matter what and that pushed me to get up and keep going no matter what. Ahh 2017!! I had already been following you for awhile at that point but this was a big transition year for me- I had experienced a big breakup and was working three jobs to keep life together- one of which was as a survivor advocate & I would work nights so sometimes it was incredibly busy, but other nights I’d just put your videos on to remind myself to lean into the seasons; I was also living alone with my soul dog & trying to figure life out. Love that you can hold gratitude for that version of yourself too ☺️ we were all so young 🥹

god i feel old, i think this was the first youtober i was here for! i remember these videos vividly and i remember how much i loved your old apartment and would wish i could live in an apartment like that when i grew up. crazy to think i am living in my own apartment now and we can all be here to rewatch these videos 6 years later :D

Watching this and what you said in the last couple of minutes made me realise why I resonated so hard with you when I found your content back in 2015.
The long girl syndrome, I had it too.
I remember watching your videos wishing I was as brave and skilled as you to become an influencer but also secretly wishing if I was that our paths would cross because anytime you'd talk about your anxiety. Although my anxiety and panic attacks happened for different reasons I always felt like we'd have so much in common and to relate on. I'd often find too that you'd make videos on subjects or things I was thinking about which was always weird but comforting to know I wasn't alone or you'd share something that would reflect situations or lessons I was navigating in my own life, it was bizarre but I was there for it!
Also I just loved how you created and had a RUclips channel at such a young age, doing something like that, that you ran by yourself and all the skills you'd have to have to think of videos, then the filming, setting up shots, what equipment you'd need, the editing and it blew my mind that you knew how to do all that as well as the bravery to create and share like you did.
I mean I still love your content and style now for sure. But it just hit me why I felt so connected to you without even knowing you as I was quite lonely back then too, struggling but bossing my way through uni as a 28year old.
Plus I always felt like as much as I was older you seemed wiser and more together with your direction and motivation which always inspired me. I've learnt a lot from you over the years, so glad you where creating and sharing and still are now 🤗

I also found you during Youtober 2017 and I was obsessed because I had moved to Toronto the previous year and lived in my first apartment and I wanted to have your life, lol. It’s so sad but I actually still watch these videos to this day because I find them comforting and fun and I loved the effort you put into them. I remember getting into a major like cute apartment clean apartment grabbing coffee with my dog eating spaghetti and meatballs (I was vegan!) and drinking tons of cheap wine era.
Maybe this is to honest for a RUclips comment but oh well. I remember this year of Youtober so vividly. I had lost my sister that previous spring. I had just moved in to my first apartment alone. And I also didn’t have a lot of friends at that point in my life. And I know it’s very one sided especially then. Less so now. But at that time I leaned in to your channel hard. Maybe I started following you earlier that year.
I always thought you often sounded so wise at so young, and I was in my late 40's feeling less than and so behind in my personal development.
Plus, I was deep in major depression and spending 90 % of my time alone.
Mostly still have up until now.
I recently started a new job and it's full time.

2017 was the year I discovered you and your channel. It was actually the calm before the storm for me regarding my health. I remember finding your videos and feeling like I found a 'big sister' in a way. I had to rediscover your videos a couple years later, but I still feel that way even now. I'm pretty sure I found your channel in 2017 or 2018. I remember i had just gotten out of a really bad relationship and was temporarily living with my mom again (and also taking care of her because she was ill). It was one of the hardest times in my life, but your videos helped me stay on track as best as I could.
i remember being in my second year of university at this time, still trying to figure it out, really struggling, and wanting nothing more than to go to medical school - today, i'm in medical school and it all really did work out in the end :') these videos bring me so much nostalgia xoxo

I literally had flashback to the moment I was watching this event video where you were in the hotel room and talked about having panic attack or anxiety. I used to suffer from heavy social anxiety and panic attacks. I felt so seen and not alone in this moment. 🥺
I remember 2017 morning routine being the first video I ever saw from you. I was a confused teenager not knowing how to live my life and manage simple tasks, but then your videos inspired me to wake up in the morning and set a routine, I even started to slowly enjoy fall and the cold weather- I was really negative teen- however your "cheerleader" energy made me smile anytime I watched your videos. The nostalgia of you moving into your own apartment and me wanting to do the same in the future and be independent. I took you as my I can say a guardian to shaping my life. Now I moved into my own apartment and I feel like I made the dream of my teen-self come true. You now have a house and a family, while I started finally living on my own, yet you still inspire me to live my life to the fullest even on the bad days. In 2017 I finished high school and went on a 2 month trip to Toronto. I chose it because I found your videos a year before, and I loved the vibe of the city. It was lonely but very good for me, and I ended up discovering a passion for programming, on my laptop in various cafés around the city. Now I’m back in Sweden, stydying my last year of my master’s degree in computer science 🧡

In 2017 I was watching YouTober, got engaged, and finally got sober. It was a huge turning point in my life.
I actually hate the feeling of nostalgia and tend not to think about my past because of it. I would have such a hard time confronting that feeling if I had videos to look back on. But what an interesting way to reflect on how far you’ve come!

2017 was one of the worst years of my life. I had finally left my abusive relationship after some very traumatic events and having been already a huge follower; I distinctly remember looking forward to RUclipsr and just having great content to keep me distracted and not feeling so alone. I know you struggled a lot with mental health and being an influencer trying to create a path for yourself but I am so incredibly glad and grateful looking back that you pushed through and continued to create❤

2017 was the year I moved out of my home state after leaving an abusive relationship. Beginning the healing process with family around was really good for providing a little guidance and encouragement to get out there and try things I wasn’t able to before because of my ex stopping me from going out and doing things for myself. I’m so happy I had the determination and the means to leave and start a new life.
I think I discovered you shortly after this youtober!! (Pretty sure it was very early 2018, gotta love the new year planning vids) but I have every one of the playlists in this video saved 😂

When I watched Youtober 2017, I had just started university, met my now best friends during fresher's week. I moved out of my parents' house and prepared to move in with my boyfriend the following month (still happily living in the same apartment with him). And currently I'm preparing to write my master's thesis. Such a weird and awesome feeling at the same time 😮

EDIT TO ADD: It's wild that in 2017 I was struggling with my mental health, and I had started therapy that summer too. Your videos actually helped me SO MUCH during that time because I felt like I had found a kindred spirit. (I still feel that way!) My life is so different from the way it was back then.
Now I am intentionally single, and although sometimes I struggle with my mental health I have more tools on how to handle it. I am also moving soon, which is exciting!

Fall of 2017 I had my first semester of college early that year I finished high school and also I got my first mini trampoline and went to a Justin Bieber concert
I actually did the dead-girl one this year because I was at work and I got lazy 😂
And actually, to answer the prompt at the end… I was living with my parents and HATING it. I was 26 and had just gotten back together with my long term boyfriend I was with since 2012 but broke up with him basically to teach him a lesson (that he never learned). I was still trying to be a beachbody coach but I was working in an office job trying to find my big break so I could afford living on my own.
3 years later, I broke up with that guy and moved out of my parents. 3 years after that, now, I’m doing a COMPLETELY different profession as a personal trainer, making more than I ever have, and loving my life so much more. 6 years. Wow
