But the engine and exhaust note and the smell of racing fuels exhaust all part of the sensational thrill of Motorsport... I digress but can you imagine an all electric drag racing???? Just not the same, yet its happening...

Indeed Toyota is experimenting with it. Already in 2022 Toyota had even a hydrogen Yaris as course car in Ypres and Japan driven by Kankkunen, Mäkinen and Toyoda. That Yaris also did FoS 23 with "Mr.Bean" Rowan Atkinson. And they ran a hydrogen Corolla in a couple of 24hr races in Japan. The interesting bit here is that it is no fuel cell but these experiments are with hydrogen combustion!
I was in Ypres when Toyota explained their idea: One would think hydrogen combustion is less efficient than hydrogen fuel cell. Well, according to the Toyota engineers, the fuel cell needs hydrogen fluid and here is the problem with cooling and storage. The combustion can ran with hydrogen in gas form and such the main problems of hydrogen are solved.
I also remember Kankkunen and Atkinson both stating after their tests, that the car sounds exactly like the petrol version, it had exactly the same BHP, but it had even more torque.
I personally still see hydrogen as very complicated, for me the future is clearly synthetic fuels, as even all existing cars can use that without changes and without problems. However no doubt what Toyota is trying here is mega interesting and even the better they use rallying as the test platform. Being this innovation platform is something that I feel rallying has lost completely with the current spaceframe cars and that rallying urgently needs for future public acceptance.

Actually, since I can't add links here, try and search RUclips for "Toyota Yaris H2 Rally" and you find a lot. And I just learned Rowan Atkinson drove the hydrogen Yaris rally car in FoS this weekend again, he was overjoyed, car improved a lot, apparently the biggest let down was his codriver who apparently had no idea about rallying or at least Atkinson's interpretation of rally driving, a certain Seb Ogier! Haha.
But what should make us all thinking is the seeming lies or pre-selection of general media and politics:
Here we never hear about such experiments. Everything is BEV focussed and if Toyota says the future is NOT EV, it is only a short note and they laugh about Toyota.
Hmm, hang on a minute? Isn't Toyota the biggest car manufacturer in the World? Isn't it interesting that Toyota not only says BEV is not the future, but they also invest heavily in developing alternatives?
I ask: Who knows more about cars and the future of the automobile:
      - Akyo Toyoda and his family, running the most successful car brand, his fleet of engineers, his test drivers Kankkunen, Mäkinen, Ogier, Rovanperä, who combine 18 WRC drivers titles
      or
      - The gang of IPCC, Joe Biden, Rishi Sunak, Boris Johnson, Robert Habeck, Annalena Baerbock, Greta Thunberg, most of them never even worked or visited university...
Answers on a post card please. You may actually win a set of yellow sunglasses, which are a hell lot better than the green fairytale glasses everybody else seems to wear!
