David was an early influence for JM and David joined his band extremely early in his career. I think JM learned a lot from DRH and has a part of him ingrained!
I never knew how similar DRH and JM sound. Half the time it sounded like John was signing. I took many double takes. Very similar sound and styles love it!
To be honest, JM is nowhere near DRH's vocal. It is pretty distinguishable when they hit the higher notes. Even at the lower notes, DRH's voice has a very distinct vibrato to it compared to JM. Guitar skill wise, two different leagues.
