But seriously tho, this helps me focus on my actual personality, relationship with God and make sure others like me for who I am and not who I look like. And remember, the best people won’t care if you have mud, slime, and bugs covered all over you as long as you are you :)

I've felt ugly most of my life. This past week it's been rough. This popped up out of nowhere and I already knew as soon as I read the title god was watching me. I'm better now than in the past. In the past I hated my hair so much I tried ripping it out my head and my scalp started to bleed. A bunch of other things, but now Its not as bad. What helped me is to remember that the Bible says that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made.

Both of you are gorgeous. Sometimes I don't think I am "beautiful " in comparison. When I was growing up, I truly had an excuse because I was not pretty, and it took me awhile to ever see anything attractive in the mirror. This is a great topic.
I, too, had a lisp, and a major speech impediment, for which I had to have a couple of years of speech therapy, which really helped me develop great articulation when I speak.
I now know that true and lasting beauty comes from aquiring the reedemed heart and character of Christ.
As He has shown me what His version of beauty is, I'm getting better at believing I'm beautiful, irregardless of my cosmetic flaws, or less than attractive figure.
What inside of me; the beauty that God gave me, is what counts. Amen

I was bullied is school too growing up. I was the shyest person. And we weren't Christians - all my worth was in the visible world. But once in college everything changed, gradually as we all grow i was surrounded with people who cared more and more about inside. And, oh boy, confidence alone can make a person beautiful!
But i realize now those terrible years of school made me very strong!
I would love Nathaniel to do a story time about the jaw surgery and more in depth on that!!
My son has mandibular hypoplasia so his bottom jaw was severely underdeveloped. It causes his teeth to become very malformed. And even the structure of his face. It was torture for him growing up. He was treated with so much malice by his peers because of the way he looked. My heart goes out to anyone who has to deal with that. The world can be brutal.

I was actually listening to one of my favorite songs "confidence - by Sanctus Real, before I got into this video. 🤣 I really recommend you all who are reading this to listen to that beautiful Christian song. I felt the love of Jesus in me the first time I was listening this song. It really touched me in a different spiritual way. It is through the Son of God Jesus that we can get more confidence about everything in life and when people see that through us and ask "how can you be so confident? " then we have to tell them the truth that it is JESUS our father that gives us this confidence so we can inspire more people to believe in Jesus and that way spread the gospel! I'm 18 years old now and it feels like Jesus wants to make me to spread his name and truth all around the world through me. I don't know how but I'm trusting him so much and I have the will to do it. And all the glory goes to God and his son Jesus!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻😁🥰🥰 Put your trust in Jesus and he is going to show you the way because he is the way, the truth, the light and life. 💖💖
There is definitely a lot to be said for going through ‘appearance hardships’ when you’re younger. I had severe eczema on my face and arms in High School, but it’s actually made me more confident now because it forced me to not only work on other things but above all made me trust God with this aspect of my life.
There was a stage in my life where I was getting a lot of attention for my appearance. I even took pride in being good looking enough to sleep with a guy who had a girlfriend. Then I developed a bunch of debilitating illnesses, and I became bed ridden. Unable to eat, sleep or exercise properly. Over the years, I see my looks fade as I gained weight and just don’t have the energy to doll myself up anymore.
I’m 22 yet I’m pretty much disabled from chronic joint and abdomen pain. Yet I realize this is God humbling me. I have an amazing boyfriend, who not only is a super loving, kind and loves God, he’s also really cute 🥰 yet I tried to break up with him countless times cause I thought I could get someone better- better looking, smarter, more godly etc. and I was confident to leave him because I knew I was young, pretty and love God. Yet through the years, God has utterly humbled me, and now I’m starting to realize how weak and unimpressive I truly am. I am not as good as I once thought. I’ve since committed my heart to my boyfriend and we will be celebrating our 3rd year anniversary this May! Our goal is to get married soon, Lord willing, to glorify God in our marriage 💛 but I think God allowed all my pain and suffering to prepare me into a faithful wife, from an adulterous woman who thought she can seduce other men. I’m writing this on a day my family doctor told me I probably have arthritis, and at 22, that’s pretty devastating. But I chose to trust God, because I know one day, I will receive a new gloried body that will never have any aches, pains or sin 🙏💛
Most times, it's easier said than done. I've been fighting low self esteem since I was a teenager and I'm currently 25 and still fighting it.
Been a Christian for a pretty long time. Wouldn't say it wasn't better some days but some days it's hard. Even when you keep confessing the word, you are faced with so many physical and environmental situation that just keeps putting you down. The worse part is how it eats into your subconscious..so everyday is a struggle.
Yeah, all you've got to do is keep believing, keep confessing the word, but....
I can relate to this, I was born with a deformity, although I got it reconstructed it shattered by confidence for years. I was really bullied for it, I hated going to school the boys through rubbles at me, the girls snubbed me. Because of all that, throughout my youth I constantly needed validation and confirmation from others (men/women). Even though I was a size 4, I always wore baggy clothes because I thought I was fat. I was a late bloomer, but even when I finally blossomed I was still insecure, had no confidence and become heavily reliant on the attention of men for approval/acceptance. It was only when I gave my life to God, I felt beautiful on the inside, in turn that translated on the outside. I find that the love of God makes you beautiful - when I allowed His love to shine through me I looked radiant. Thanks for sharing this!

And Sutton, before I even clicked on the video, I was like 'wow, Sutton looks so pretty!' But I understand how acne can make you look down on your outward appearance; I've been struggling with the same thing lately.

I was so happy to see this pop up today. I’ve had so many bad experiences with peers and friends my whole teenage life. My confidence, to tell the truth, is completely shot. I don’t even want to leave the house. My 18th birthday is coming up and I’m so nervous to become an adult, and much of that comes from the confidence issue since I’m to nervous to get a job and interact with people. I’m slowly getting a little better and this video in particular helps a lot.

Great reminder. Still tough at times especially when your 36 & single.. question what is wrong with me and why don’t guys find me attractive...
I’m going on 32 and I’m single, never married, no kids, and I’ve only had one serious relationship. That relationship showed me that people finding you attractive doesn’t mean they will stay. Before that, people would tell me I was single because I was ugly, etc. This was as an adult, too! My ex, on the other hand, DID find me attractive and that’s why he pursued me, and he was an awful human being.
Look around you, and you’ll see plenty of people who don’t fit society’s standard of beauty, and they have loving, lasting relationships and marriages. I think when someone can’t find a good, lasting relationship, there’s almost always another reason other than how they look.

Today's world puts too much emphasis on looks. The Bible says God doesn't think like man, He judges according to the heart. Today's society conditions people to be consumed with looks, romantic relationships and self indulgence. If only people would focus on Jesus Christ, but they won't, according to the Bible things will continue to become more jaded.

Thanks for doing this, I know I have a complex problem, and feel real insecure, and it is harder when others make fun of you and that brings you down even more. I know I am made by God, and I am fearfully and wonderfully made... but it is hard to feel it
I definitely struggle with this. Not only do I feel like this generation deals with social media and all the self image problems that brings but also porn. I feel like knowing loved ones struggle with that really can be discouraging when I feel like there is something so much better than me. But I do need to dwell on who I am in Christ and my worth in Him,. Thanks so much for this video - you are both such an encouragement :)

I relate so much to this topic. This video was an encouragement!
My whole life I was told I am the ugly sister, 1 of 8 girls, it really crushed my self-esteem as a young child. It informed the way I interacted with people until my 30's when I eventually decided to get counselling at my church. It's been a long road to accepting identity in Christ. An ongoing process! I am so grateful for God's mercy and love in these issues and that He doesn't value me because of beauty or the perceived lack thereof.
I developed rosacea as an adult and it is not pleasant. I used to not wear makeup except come concealer around my eyes l, but because of the rosacea, I now wear powders too. Certain times of the month is flares up and looks angry on my cheeks.
I also have pretty advanced varicose veins on my legs and people stare and ask questions. The treatments available don’t fix the appearance because they are so advanced. Eventually I can have the entire vein removed, it’s purely cosmetic though. So I haven’t yet. But shorts/swinsuit season is rough. Plus the poor circulation causes me to retain fluid around me ankles… you can imagine it makes you not feel beautiful. I’m really thankful for my husband, who tells me at least twice a day how attractive he finds me. I really struggle to believe it, but I know God is using his kindness to help me.

I've personally have been battling my self confidence. It's been bad to the point, I feel uncomfortable when my boyfriend looks at my face and I always tell him to "look away" or "don't look at me" cause I feel self conscious. But reminding myself I've been beautifully and wonderfully made by the creator of heaven and earth gives me assurance in being who I am. Cause ultimately "charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised" Once we learn to love God, we can learn to love what he's made us to be! Remain confident in God and in knowing that EVERYTHING God has made IS beautiful in some shape or form.
Use to say the same, to stop staring or look away ☹️ I also keep Reciting that verse to remind myself it's the inside beauty that can never fade away. ❤️

Concerning the "bumps" around your mouth and eyes- you could have too much flouride in your body. Look it up. I developed the same thing several years ago. After researching it, I started buying fluoride free toothpaste. With fluoride in our water and many foods, we don't need as much in our toothpaste.

I've always struggled with how to accept if there isnt the right one out there? I know God has a plan for my life but I've been discouraged that I'll never find the one or anyone to date.
I really needed this I always had my insecurities and it’s Nice to know I’m not the only one who has them
My preteens aren't on social media. My oldest is nearly a teenager and has no desire for it so far. We've talked candidly with her and her sisters and brothers who are old enough to understand about the problems with social media and why we don't have accounts. So far, they seem to be pretty well adjusted kids. I honestly can't see any reason a teen needs to be on instagram, fb, whatever. Aside from the cesspool content on some of these venues, these kids are coming into themselves just as you say and don't need to be constantly bombarded with the fakery and the fake sense of connection.
The devil speaks to our mind in our own voice to whisper horrible inner words. HAVE A KIND INNER VOICE TO YOURSELF .STOP BASHING YOURSELF AND EMBRACE THE HIGH VALUE PERSON THAT GOD SAYS ABOUT US.

Literally thinking about this as I got ready for work. I realized that I dont get ready for me, not at all really. I get ready so people won't look at me as "unkempt". If I had it my way, I wouldn't really care. I dislike wearing make up, but I have hyperpigmentation and think it makes me look dirty. Sucks man, it really does, but I'm trying to bring it to God.

I met phisically ugly people who I find incredibly attractive because of their personality. I really forgot how they look, it had no effect on my mind. I was looking at their face and all I could see was their personality ❤️✨.

I have suffered from this all my life; it has ruined my life. I never married, I never felt like I was good enough for anyone that I was interested in. I could relate to Woody Allen: I wouldn't want to join a club that would have me in it! It's a terrible thing. I wish I could have overcome this when I was young. I am now 60 and it's too late.
