    In MechWarrior 5, one of its strengths is that the Head hitbox seems to be small. I've head-shotted many models of 'mech, but never a Cyclops.
    One of it's weaknesses is that the Center Torso hitbox is large, even for a 90-ton 'mech. I've put many Cyclops' out of the fight with the CT hitpoints gone, and the side torsos apparently untouched.

      It's funny because in the lore that sheath of armor on top of its head wound up making it more prone to headshots too.

    This is pretty damn close to what I run. The AC 5 is one of those underrated weapons that’s super handy in just about every situation. It’s a lot better than how it performs on the table top game, that’s for sure.

      Yeah, most likely due to fire rates not being a thing. The AC5 outpaces so many weapons due to its high rate of fire as well as much farther range. Damage falloff is significant.
      I've stuck a helicopter with a PPC, and it survived because it was at a long range where the PPC suffered enough damage dropoff.

    Hi @GitGudFox I have been using your content to help with my MW5 play through and it’s been extremely helpful. I’m new to mech warrior games except for mech assault games which don’t really translate well. Are you planning or have thought about doing any content surrounding optimal lance groups for specific missions such as raids, demolition, warzone, etc. I understand the types of mechs and weaponry for each type; however, I am struggling to make a decent lance that is optimal support for each of the mission types. Thanks for the great content and I hope to see more mech optimization as I have many that I don’t know what I’m doing with at this point.

      Hey I'm glad to hear it helps. The issue is that there is A LOT to cover in the game, and it takes me about 1 week to make a video like this without like becoming essentially a slave editing and recording every day.
      So the issue is that making 1 video for each Mech already is going to take months.
      There's other subjects I'd like to explore like how to manage your money effectively, but I don't want to hop and skip all over the place and have a bunch of incomplete series.

    It feels like a oversized Shadowhawk. But for 90 Tons a little bit undergunned.

      You have to use its speed. The most heavily armored Mechs cannot handle rear armor damage, and a slow 44km Mech really has to take fights as they're presented while a 64km Mech can engage in flanking maneuvers.

      Yes, for 90 tons it's under-gunned. To go the speed it does, it needs a 360 engine. Well, engine weight doesn't go up linearly with rating. It's more like an exponential progression. An 85-ton 'mech with a 340 engine would have more tons available for armor+weapons+equipment.
      85 tons seems to be the point of diminishing returns, for mechs going 64 kph, with a standard engine.
      If you must have the weight, the CP-11-B (not available in all games) is a better use of 90 tons, because it goes down to a 270 engine.

    I need to try out the Cyclops and it's variants I've never used them other than the hero mech. Though the Sleipnir is rather impressive in my opinion.

    Great format! The double screen would be perfect if it had blueprints of the mech with the stats on screen as you mention them. This is great!

    Excellent redesign Fox, I like to rock a ac10 over the 5 but the rest is all most identical to how I dress the mech for battle

      I tried both since the Cyclops was tested a lot during my recent streams. Ultimately went for the AC5 because I could fit on an extra 4 heatsinks.

    This is exactly how I have built mine out since the first playthrough I got 1.

      I find as long as I don't charge directly into their gunfire, this Mech can do respectable damage. The extra speed can create flanking opportunities that a slower 48km Mech wouldn't find.
