All things green are good! Leafy plants and greens are so exciting to draw, I really like your point of view, it is a simpler design without having lost its naturalistic twist. Thank you so much for the tutorial! 🙏🏻💚🐛📗🌿🌾🍃
A wonderful artist. I love your sketches. Thanks for sharing. I grow herbs in my garden and now want to really look at them and draw them on a grid now.
This so fitting for me. Last year, in July, I did a full page of flowers from a tutorial you had done. It was the first page of my first journal. This month I am starting my second bullet journal and I will have the first-month sketches from this tutorial (and probably the last one too) You make it so easy, Shayda, thank you for what you do.
I finally sketched this into my bullet journal. I struggled with the mint. It was quite tricky getting the leaves to look right but I am quite pleased with my final result - thank you for doing step by step instructions. I kept telling myself, "perfectly imperfect". :)
This was EXTREMELY helpful they are so simple yet so easy to identify. You described everything perfectly and made the steps very clear. Thank you for making this tutorial I’m so happy 😃
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I love how you explain drawing the mint with jagged edges! So many times I have tried to just draw the jags while drawing the shape and it is so hard to do :). But your plan of drawing the shape first will make it easier! I will be watching this one over and over and over :)
I’m not normally interested in drawing object or plants but you’ve convinced me to try it! I think I’ll go and pick some herbs in my grandparents garden since they own a lot of plants and draw it! Thanks for the inspiration
Thank you for much for this. I've been wanting to do this for ages and never felt confident enough. I do now! You are so clear and obviously talented. Thanks again.
Another wonderful tutorial! The way you teach makes drawing so approachable. I'll have to go back to find your other herb illustration videos. Thanks, Shayda!
I hold my pen the same way.........but I put my thumb over my two fingers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- God made us all different and unique.......it would be boring if we all look the same or held our pen the same way.
Corinne Baker same. but my fingers are almost equal (rather than like hers) w/my thumb over or up against my 2 fingers. Basically the same as a lot of other ppl except that I rest my pen on my ring finger.
The mint from the top looking down has been my biggest challenge and the most fun to try and capture . As always thank you for sharing your creativity and making your tutorials so enjoyable
Tried it not perfect but was so fun to draw different leaves and herbs and stems so much fun keep posting more simple videos like this! Maybe try some trees too?
Thank you so much for this! I tried to draw alongside you but it took a bit of pausing XD I'd never managed to pull off drawing a plant that wasn't a tree in such a recognizable manner, thank you! I love drawing backgrounds, landscapes and such but I can never come up with the proper variety a field or a garden would actually have, this really helped me understand how to add such simple but different shapes to the mix :D
I love drawing herbs with you. They are my second favorite sketching subject after flowers! I wondered if you have illustrated iris's, violets and pansy's yet? Also, what is the best eraser to use? I have the pink, grade school variety and it's not the best, I suspect!
Yes, my fav erasers are gum erasers. They're the color of honey (usually) and they're nice and soft so you don't tear at your paper. So glad you're enjoying the herb illustrations- they're one of my go-to subjects also ❤️
@@ShaydaCampbell that would be great! I would love to see your flowers! And not to be a pest, but would you mind adding a link to your favorite eraser? Thank you for all you do!!
I love your channel so much! I recently started getting into this style of artwork and you make things really fun & easy :) just did these doodles and they turned out great. Thank you for all that you do
It does, doesn't it! I wish RUclips allowed images to be uploaded with comments - some of my stuff looks appalling! I reckon there are preschoolers painting better than me!
I find your grip curious :3 I even tried drawing something real quick just to test it and it feels weird to me but also kinda gives more control to my lines xD Lovely doodleses
Dot from UK Just started drawing herbs this was a great find and easy to follow thank you for sharing. Can I just say that the English version of Cilantro is called Coriander not flat leaf Parsley that's a different herb. Love from the UK, Dot x.
I wish there were measurements for the graph, having ocd this really made it quite frustrating when I tried to make the graph. Everything else was great though! 💕
Could you please give the link to the videos that you mention in this video? I especially want to find the 4 herb one since I already saved the other one to my playlist... Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for not being someone who won’t share their secrets. You are TALENTED
Yeah
I love how you simplified the plants but their easily identifiable!
I love how all of your drawings are so detailed!

I love the minimalistic aesthetic.
Excellent and beautiful presentation
OK this tutorial is so much easier to see than the last one I watched. Zoomed in is good. Love it. Thank you.

What a peculiar way to hold the pen
its kinda off putting to me, i cant look at it
Dude, I was about to comment about it. Weird af

@@corinnejanebaker holding your pencil or pen so oddly, is due to you being taught at school the proper pen manship. Too bad
As a beginner (and someone with no artistic ability), this video was so helpful. Will you make one for autumn as well?
You handwriting is so beautiful! thank u for all your content, it's really helpful!! Keep on going!

OMG!!! I love this video! Thank you so much!
I could give a thumb up in the first seconds of the video :) Thank you for all your advice! After explaining everything looks really easy to repeat.
I've always wanted to create my own herbology book(not printed)
That is a great idea. I hope you do start it. It would be a great coffee table book :)
