Shayda, you could easily illustrate and publish these journals for people who love journals but just don’t have time to make them. I love how you just make things simple.
U and your arts are amazing. Arts play an important role in our life. People have recovered from certain diseases that have no medicine by looking at pleasent and peaceful arts. And people have discovered their hidden skills and talents. You also helped me discover and grow my skills and talents. Thank you for helping many peoples Shayda. Love all your arts. Your flowers are perfectly imperfect. They are awesome, amazing, wonderfull, gorgeous, nice and very beautiful. I never knew I could draw so beautifully before I watched your videos and tried to draw them. That turned out into a skill. I was over the moon when I knew I could draw so well. Every person has a hidden artist inside them , only that they don't know how to improve the skill and leave it. But everyone must try art.
Love these doodles! I recognize all of them. I had a peace lily for over 10 years! Hard to kill but I managed to do it somehow!!!! I have a few succulents now. We will see how long I can keep them alive. Congrats to all the winners.
pam I used to keep them going as lpng as possible but just like us they have a lifespan. So eventually they go in the compost bin so in a way they live on.
Some “fun facts” for you about the houseplants - the one that you called the “snake” plant is also known as “mother in law’s tongue!” The long stringy pathos plant can be cut and placed in water as it grows and you will then have multiples of this plant. You can even leave them in the water instead of dirt! For the spider plant - when it grows babies, cut them off, put them in a cup of water and when it roots, you can then plant them in dirt. Enjoy! 💜
I love the idea of a separate doodle journal! One more item you may want to note on your plant tracker is when to add fertilizer 😊 My favorite houseplants are a Christmas cactus & shamrock plant. Both have been thriving for years now!
Your Doodles are SO fantastic looking. the speed & the control of your pen is almost magical. Its like the images just suddenly appear on the page with absolute perfection! (yours, not mine!)
Yesterday I filled my first bullet journal following your 2020 setup video (even did the Dutch door with flowers), I love painting again, I haven’t painted with watercolor in two years and I missed it☺️ thank you
Great doodles! I have so many of the ones you doodled. My spider has many babies hanging as well. My jades I’ve had for 20+ years. My cactus is about 3 feet tall! Now it’s time to draw them!
This was such a fun instructive time. I'm a very beginner in doodling and it helped me a lot! Thank you Shayda Campbell! I love your work, I resonate with what you do very much ! Many blessings!
I love this idea. I used to work in flower shops and could tell people how to care for their houseplants, very professional. My plants, well I'm not sure how they survive me. A couple of recommendations, plants I've had for more than 30 years, Ponytail palm ( I grew them from seed and they look funky), Christmas cactus (cuttings from my mothers plant so it's actually more than 60 years old) Angel wing begonia and dracaenas.Very forgiving. I have couple more but these have made it through various moves and so much neglect it's amazing. I will doodle them right now in honor of their steadfastness.
This is a brilliant tutorial. Your teaching technique is just right, I never miss any of your tutorials & of course to be one of your Patreons, I feel blessed to see even more. Brilliant Shayda. 🤗🎨💝
I love the tracker at the end! I’m participating in a thing called 20 in 2020, which is about limiting your clothes shopping to 20 purchases this year. I would love ideas for a purchase tracker!
Thanks for sharing. You are one of my 2020 resolutions to draw more by following your doodle videos. No Stress, lots of fun! In the days I had a jungle in my house, 3 of my faves pop to mind for future doodling: - Norwegian Pine - this will be a challenge for me because they are so symmetrical, a big problem for me, keeping things symmetrical. - Hibiscus: how to distill the pretty, fluffy flowers into a doodle minimum of lines. I miss my Hibiscus. - Ficus - this one should be relatively easy. I've had two, a monster tree that reached the top of our vaulted ceiling and 3 minis that were so adorable and cute. They were 12 years old when they had to be re-homed and were approximately 30 inches tall. If I could have any of my houseplants back I'd choose the mini-ficus. Super easy to care for, not fussy about lighting, tolerant of our very dry winter house, and they looked like a miniature forest on my desk.
We have quite a few different house plants. I honestly never gave it a thought to sketch them even though I sketch almost every day. We have a number of succulents, a few huge philodendron, I can’t remember the name, but a beautiful tropical vine. Even though it’s not quite a “houseplant” we have a huge pot of rosemary as well. Thank you for sharing this idea for the tracker!!
Wow came across you yesterday and your such a good drawer , I used to draw a lot but stop for 3 year and I wnat to get back into it and I'm watching your video and I'm going to try to recreate a lot of them , I brought loads of art supplies so hope I can get back into it :) x
I love this video! I can draw some of my houseplants now! I have a few of the plants you doodled: spider plant, snake plant, string of pearls, aloe vera, split leaf philodendron, and a pothos!
Funny you said about houseplants you haven’t killed, lol, I am the same way. I have learn to not give much water to my succulents/aloe. I also have 2 spider plants that are very forgiving with me. I have a flowering plant, an impatient that I have had for 3 years now, I put it out in summertime and bring inside when frost comes. The coleus I had I did the same thing as impatient and lasted for 2 1/2 years and I grew the coleus from just a seed and was huge! So fun to grow your own plants and watch how long you can keep them going. I by no means am a green thumb, but my mom is. She has a jungle inside her home, that is where my spider plants came from. Well thank you for posting this video, I totally enjoyed it. And....congrats to the winners!
Doodeling houseplants... never had that idea. But it is very charming. I'll give it a try. As well as the plant-tracker in my BuJo too. Thank you so much - and to your sister too, for the idea! ;-)
You're amazing with these! Your doodles & sketches capture the essence so well, yet easy enough to follow to make your own. Who'd ever have thought of making a plant tracker! ha! what a great idea... I really appreciate your journaling style, layouts, & ideas. It's very inspiring & ended up jump-starting me into starting my own in Nov of 2019. Thanks for sharing! :D
If yo need a safe, effective pest and disease treatment, Mixing rubbing alcohol and water together works wonders. its 1 part ra and 3 parts water. Its safe for the plant and pets but works really well to keep plants healthy.
So many cool ideas, thanks! If you really want a plant-sketching challenge, find a Harry Lauder's Walking Stick. Best wishes for a wonderful new decade. :o)

I can never draw. And this is literally the first time I feel like I can finally draw something! Thank you so much!

Love Love Love!!! House plants are my favorite thing and this year I started a bullet journal. So both combined ahhhh
Great doodles! I have so many of the ones you doodled. My spider has many babies hanging as well. My jades I’ve had for 20+ years. My cactus is about 3 feet tall! Now it’s time to draw them!

Another fav tutorial! The plants I have are: protos, snake, jade, aleo and a cactus! Keep these incredible tutorials coming!💐

I actually love the unique simplicity of doodling. Part of the reason I took up bullet journals.
Love this!! 🥰 Can u make a part 2 of this with new houseplants?? 💛💛
This is a brilliant tutorial. Your teaching technique is just right, I never miss any of your tutorials & of course to be one of your Patreons, I feel blessed to see even more. Brilliant Shayda. 🤗🎨💝

Glad you enjoyed it! While researching our houseplants I realized that all the ones I haven't killed like dry soil and are drought resistant LOL
