He impressed at the rookie camp so I plan on watching a bunch of his games. Last year over at hockeysfuture on the Habs board I was the 1st person to point out how well Florian Xhekaj was playing and how they might have a real gem on their hands. I don't know if Thorpe can impress as much as he's got more to work on but that shot is very heavy and he's got a good release.
He is kind of soft for his size unfortunately.
That's an interesting take after watching him throw at least 5 hits. His main problem seems to be heavy feet, he's going to need to be much more explosive.

his feet are heavy too, he glides a lot. Guys his size due take longer, over at Hockeysfuture Habs board for years that Mike McCarron was struggling in the AHL I said to give it time as guys his height at forward are rare and take longer to adjust but now he's been able to create a role for himself in the NHL, so you never know with Thorpe or guys like him, got to take some chances on guys like him, Florian Xhekaj, Pezzetta, etc..
