I laughed out loud when they were showing the Philly phanatic and he said “what is that?” 🤣
Imagine if they saw Gritty 😂
Which is weird. Because he said he watched the game until the 7th inning. There’s no way they didn’t talk about the Phanatic
@@michaeldooley6804 They wouldn't be here to tell the tale if they saw Gritty.
Nothing like playoff baseball in Philadelphia. You will never experience a greater fan.
Philly fans are nasty.
Best fans in baseball ⚾💯
Nothing better in the US. Most European soccer teams have better fans.
@@ColognialNoahDE Yeah, sure you do! Do you have more than one spectator sport?
@@ColognialNoahDE Nah. They are just allowed to unsafely pack stadiums in some parts of Europe, and use FLARES. If the USA allowed flares, Philadelphia would EASILY make a video alongside "ultras" in footy.
The guys on top of the stadium are our pyrotechnics crew 😂
I was at three playoff games at CBP last year, including World Series Game 3. Yh3 crowd gets so amped that you can feel the stands sway under your feet. There is nothing like a Phillies playoff crowd.
Literally. And the stadium was constructed that way, it literally sways and bounces like shocks on a car lol. when it was built in 2003 my uncle was a union carpenter and worked there the whole year during construction. I was in 5th grade. I live 8 minutes walking distance to CBP.
That big, green, fuzzy, horn snouted thing you saw in the stands was none other than the greatest mascot in American sports, the Philly Phanatic!
Finally, British people that actually understand it’s not a game of rounders😂
14:09 That’s Nick Castellanos’ 9 year old son. Must be pretty awesome to see your dad hit 2 HRs in a postseason game. You’ll notice Nick points to his son after he touches home plate.
and two more tonight! Lets go phills!
Yeah, but that little snot is going to be unleashed on us and it's not going to be good.
@@anitanoecker2569 Lol if you're a dbacks fan you might be lucky. I think he missed the Wild Card games because he couldn't miss school.
I was at this game last night, it was electric there at Citizens Bank for the entire game. 6 home runs hit too, Phillies in 4!
Fans in Philly are so passionate that we do not cry when they lose, we cry when they win.
This game showcases why Bryce Harper is a perfect fit for the Phillies. Philly is a loud and aggressive city and you won't find a more aggressive player in the league than Bryce Harper. He's the perfect man to lead this team and represents this city to a tee.
I love seeing you guys take an interest in our sports like a lot of us love football in your country. Barnsley fan from Philly here!!!!!

Barnsley? Like me watching the Cowboys 😂😂👍🏻
@@officeblokedaz hahaha yup!! Them reds!!!!!!

From a braves fan, Harper is just a different animal come playoff time
You gotta pitch around Harper, but they haven't figured it out apparently.
@@RyneMurray23 Yup, same thing with Yordan Alvarez, idk why they keep pitching to him
Harper is a different animal all the time, he's a different monster in the postseason. Dude came back from Tommy John this year in record time.
Great stuff guys, come to Philadelphia as my guest,no place like it
Always love the office Blokes (and Bloke adjacent) reactions. Love it even more that you're reacting to my Phillies!
Game is back in Philly tonight. It’s on at 1:07am UK time (8:07pm eastern standard time). The weird times for games have been like that for awhile.
If you guys ever come to Philly I'll personally take you to a game😁
See you at game 7 World Series yeah? 😂
The green thing is the Phillies beloved mascot known as the Phillie Phanatic.
The Phillies are the oldest still in the same city baseball organization in the country. and the only team whose name is the city. Which is a big reason why we are so fanatical about our baseball team and our mascot of course, Phillies aren’t just our team. We are Phillies.
The only team in the world to tell'em who you are and where you're from!
@@technomasta exactly what I keep saying what a lot of people don’t realize.. your team is the one your father took you to see when you were Young I danced with a Phanatic on the dugout the first year he appeared and watched him destroy three cars at the dealership. My dad worked at.🤣 not only do we have the best fan base and the best mascot. We have the best fans but people just focus on the bad ,we are that way because we know this game and we know our team and we let them know
To be fair the twins are named after the twin cities. Not exactly a city name but it’s very close
@@chrismarston4266 have thought about that it’s close, I have no problem with the twins because of the great Charlie Manuel
Except for the Reds
Glad you guys did game3 after watching you guys react to game 2!!
Nothing like playoff baseball
TOINIGHT THE BRAVES GO ON VACATION!! GO PHILLIES!!
Okay, to answer your question about the 'Check Swing', it is when the batter starts to swing the bat at a pitched ball, but holds back enough so that the bat does not go past the plane of home plate. If the batter can't hold back, it is ruled a swing attempt, and thus a strike.
A bit of trivia also for you guys over there - Citizen's Bank. to which the Phillies home field is named for, is a subsidiary of The Royal Bank of Scotland, of which you can see its logo next to the name under the Liberty Bell in the right field.
The Phillies wear powder blue for Thursday home games, cream white for home afternoon games, red shirts for regular season road games with travel after the game, and then grey for all other away games and red pinstripes for all other home games are their two basic uniforms.
If the bat goes over the plate, then it's a strike. If the batter manages to hold it back from breaking the plane, it's a checked swing. But honestly, because of the nature of umpires, it almost always comes down to a judgement call
Yea. It’s 100% a judgement call. Ask 10 umpires, and you’ll get 100 answers. I just asked myself “Did he strike at the ball?”
Also From what I understand there isn’t an official rule to correctly identify what is or isn’t a check swing… I might be wrong tho
Thank you. Great explanation 👍🏻
@@LuigiGHD your bat has to cross the plate for it to constitute a swing iirc
@@maaarcus7227 Yeah but I mean there’s no rule for it in the official baseball rules. It’s all up to the umps basically
I love videos like this with other people enjoying our sports and culture. Great video. Go Phils.
I really don’t know why he would piss Bryce off
That night was crazy !!! My son and I enjoyed it at home. Philly, Philly !!!
i was here and you don’t understand how loud it is. you don’t even hear yourself scream it’s that loud! the headache that comes after the game is unreal, from the drinking, the screaming, and overall adrenaline through the whole game. phillies fans don’t sit when it’s red october. we stand all 9 because that’s what fans are supposed to do… support your team!
Players now use bubble gum or sunflower seeds since chewing tobacco has fallen out of favor, but it used to be every baseball player pretty much chewed tobacco. Part of it is just culture and tradition, partly to have something to occupy you in the dugout, but some players insist chewing something helps with the various timing-based aspects of baseball.
As a Philly native you should watch more of our sports teams highlights 😅
Calm down 😂😂
If the bat breaks the plane of the bottom of home plate, it’s counted as a strike. The home plate umpire will appeal to either the 1st or 3rd base umpire because they have the best view for judging check swings.
Check Swing: the bat needs to cross the front of the plate, but there also needs to be "intent to swing" usually rotation of the shoulders and hips. It's a judgement call by a 1st or 3rd base ump. And one they get wrong a lot, like in this case. No way they call that in the regular season. They've been a lot more conservative in the playoffs this year.
that big green thing is our mascot. the Philly phanatic..
A.k.a. the greatest mascot in the world😊
@@KWC33 GO PHILLIES !!!
The little kid who had his mouth wide open is the son of Castellanos, the guy who hit two homers
If a player swings past home plate it’s considered a swing rather than a checked swing. The opposite field umpire makes that call. For a lefty the third base umpire makes the call and for a righty the first base umpire makes the call.
Aiden, I introduce you to the Phillies Phanatic, team mascot!!
There is no venue like Philly for sports. Go Phils!
Jomboy's breakdown of Harper's homer is actually better plus they add some clips of Harper staring at Arcia while running the bases, just so much fun
The green thing is the Philly Phanatic. one of, if not the greatest mascot in US sports.
Now I will say Philadelphia fans do have a well earned well reputation but the full house and the energy of the crowd makes even watching on TV or listening on radio far more engaging than say the Tampa Bay Rays game with 19k people. I think the Phillies get more than 19k during a normal season weekday game.
"Bryce Harper I think his name was" (1:22) cracked me up.
Bryce Harper & Nick Castellanos (both hit 2 home runs last night) were wearing Deion Sanders ‘Prime’ shirts going into the ballpark & after. Funny thing is, Sanders won a World Series with the Braves.
You couldn’t hear some of the other chants too well on tv (on purpose because they weren’t PG) but they were way better than the mock tomahawk chop! 😂
We're not much for protocol 😂
DUI! DUI!

4:44 when the bat crosses past plate fully, that white blob between his legs.
Best fans in baseball. I heard you guys asking how the MLB playoffs work. Here it is.
Wildcard Series Best of 3.
Divisional Series Best of 5.
League Championship Series Best of 7.
World Series Best of 7.
yea the young pitcher for the braves was a qb for Texas tech if I'm not mistaken .
Let's Phuckin' go Phillies! Atlanta pissed off the wrong fans.

Checked swing is what ever the ump says it is,generally the barrel of the bat cant go past the foul lines.
I thought it was the bat couldn’t go past the plate?
The bat can’t go past the plate
higher seed gets home field. So 2 games at home, 2 games on the road, then 1 at home if necessary. Once it goes to 7 games, it goes 2 home, 3 away, 2 home, higher seed get 4 home games. As an American, I hate the playoff system. Just depends on which team has the momentum going into the playoffs. Regular season does not matter.
We talkin' 'bout the FIGHTINS!!
Love this!
Fuck yes. Finally some Phillies reactions!
Finally?? There was one like 2 days ago 😂😂
Phillies and Mets are the London series for 2024, if you want to see them mash in real life!
Hope you guys are watching this next one
The determining factor on a checked swing is if the batter breaks his wrists.
If the bat crosses home plate on a check swing then it's a strike. If the batter keeps the bat behind the front of the plate then it's a ball.
The Bat has to sweep across home plate or its a check swing . Umpires were terrible with calling actual check swings strikes all series both ways.
The Bat Has To Cross The Plate To Be A Strike.
The only really hard and fast rule pertaining to check swings is the fact that the rules of Major League Baseball stipulate that the home plate umpire had to determine whether or not , in his expert opinion, the batter swung at the pitch. There is no official guide or anything to tell them how to actually determine that, just their own judgement, expertise, and observation. That said, in the event that the home plate umpire rules that the batter did not swing, the catcher can request that he ask one of the other umpires for a second opinion, and typically they then ask the first base umpire (or the third base umpire, depending on who had a better point of view on it, which will be different depending on whether the batter is batting lefty or righty). The home plate umpire will generally take the other umpire's ruling and use that, in those cases. There is the myth that, traditionally, any time the bat crosses in front of the imaginary plane formed by the front edge of home plate (imagine a flat vertical plane which is bolt vertical and contains the front edge of the plate), that it should be considered a swing, but there's still a lot of ambiguity in that. Whether the batter rotates his body in any way, where he stands in the batters box, etc.
If the umpire at first base for right handed batter or third for a lefty see's the top of the bat, it's a strike.
I once saw a braves fan waving a neon lit tomahawk back in the 1990s,
PLZ react to Dodgers vs D-Backs NLDS game 3 highlights .. D-Backs made history in that game!!
We don’t burn things down, but the city literally greases the light poles and converges on Broad St/City Hall. When we’re about to win something, announcers and fans alike yell “grease the poles!”.
Philly fans are the best in the world !!!
The bat must cross the front of the plate to be considered a swing
Please react to some Diamondbacks! We don’t make it to the playoffs often and we swept the Dodgers in a wild series. Also set a record for most home runs in one inning in the playoffs, 4 home runs. React to that at least, it was insane to watch live!
love the show boys..FYI. all the info is in the box on the screen. outs. men on base. balls/striées etc..keep it up..
4:45 unfortunately there is no clear rule as to what a check swing is. The way it's worded is the pitch is a strike if it: “is struck at by the batter and is missed.” It's basically umpire's discretion. Typically people go off of whether the wrists "break," allowing the bathead to come around. Other times it seems to be based on if the bathead goes forward of home plate. It's really something they should nail down
That was a good game. Phillies humiliated the Braves!
Waiting for my Tigers to use our draft capital to good use.
Check swing is no longer a check if the bat crosses the front of the plate
Philly would love to have you in the stadium. If you're fans 😂🎉🎉
If the USA allowed flares, Philadelphia would EASILY make a video alongside "ultras" in footy. We are CRAZY and considered to be the Newcastle of the USA in terms of rowdy fans
Check swing rules are sort of arbitrary. Past the front of the plate usually, but up to umpire discretion.
yall gotta watch the diamondbacks hit 4 homers in an inning, it was electric
Great video
Go Phils! NOTHING compares to playoff baseball in Philadelphia.
Its electric
As a Phillies fan, there are no fans like Phillies fans! There may be about 45,000 people in Citizens Bank Park, but it sounds like 100,000. I wish I could attend more games, but Philly is too far away, especially for night games. You can't hear the person next to you.
Saying something terrible about Harper is just stupid. Don't 'poke the bear'; you will pay for it, and the Braves did. He has been a superstar since he was 15 years old. The MLB was already scouting him then, and was on Sports Illustrated's cover when he was 16.
CONGRATULATIONS to our Phillies!!! 💗🤍💙⚾⚾⚾
check swing can't go more than halfway through the swing it admittedly can get pretty subective
It 2-2-1 two in Atlanta- two in Philly and if need game 5 in Atlanta
Love it!
You guys should react to Oregon Washington this week. Top 10 matchup and whoever wins will most likely make the playoffs since USC has a paper wall as a defense. Thanks for uploading
You guys should also react to the other NLDS game last night. Dbacks vs Dodgers. Go Dbacks
As a dodgers fan, nah 🥲

How about the diamondbacks beating the dodgers

Harper hit that first homerun about as hard as you could hit a baseball. Absolutely mashed.
The braves are stacked! I hate them so much.
Phillies won game 4 as well, Brave have never beat Philly in a playoff series
It has been said that the Phillies and the Eagles have the best fans in the nation, in their respective sports . . . . . AND, in the case of the Eagles, the worst fans, as well.
6 minutes in, no reactions. Shouldn’t they be saying something?
Philly in this bih 😝
Not much of a reaction, eh? You sit in silence and even when an exciting play happens, you maybe say a few monotone sentences.
Another example of the flawed new playoff system. 5 days off is way too much and takes the teams who won their division off their hot streaks.
The only exclusion is Houston who already have a ton of post season experience. The Orioles and Dodgers are another w smoke along w/ the Braves. Awful decision by MLB to extend the wildcard Eddie’s beforehand..
Which part of Atlanta are you from ?
Wah wah wah
You sound like a niners fan.
React? You guys, for the most part, just sat there and didn't say much of anything with blank expressions on your face throughout out the entire thing.
React to action. Shall we cheer in a fake manner to a pitcher getting hooked?
Imagine demanding someone to react more 😂 lame comment
You should definitely do a video on Bryce Harper’s career there is a really good video of how he went from the most overrated player to the most underrated player.
Actually there is one on how he is the biggest villain that is even better.
Bryce Harper, the new gatekeeper for the unwritten rules of baseball. What a big baby.
