As well as for the dealership that gave them that information! While many industries are making it harder to work on your own belongings, this dealership seems to have been happy to help!
Agreed. Had a "buddy" that once told me that I was at the beginning of a project and to call him when I'm closer to finishing it. I haven't talked to him since I don't know when...
Some come with them from the factory, that's why he mentioned maybe trying to find a factory turbo one so it's lower compression. Looked for them myself but it seems if it's turbo it's automatic
Another mad nugget to add to the collection. What even better that its a practical truck to fang around in to get all those juicy turbos and bit for your up coming projects. Top stuff McM.
I hung around for every second of the "nerdery". Was a mechanic in the 60's and am slowly getting up to speed with the ECU "nerdery" age. I've had several decades absence from the automotive industry so watching videos like yours and from Haltech and The Skid Factory and others has really helped me. Thanks boys.
One thing I really like about Moog and Martin is over all these years they have managed to stay very humble. I have seen many RUclips Creators get a bunch of likes or views, subs, and turn into complete A holes. Moog and Marty don't even have a Patreon account. If you want to help them out, you buy some merch. They never have pleaded for likes, subs, or asked for donations...Very Very rare to see that on RUclips....These guys not only make great content year after year, they have remained friends, and have made the viewers seem like friends as well. All I can say is never change guys, keep doing what your doing, and we will keep watching. Much Love to you all from the USA 👍🙏
Saw a guy in london wearing the in the bin tshirt, told him cool shirt bro. My missus and his looked confused as us 2 strangers exchanged a smile and nod of heads 😁 cheers mcm, bringing petrolheads together all over the world 👊👊👊
just read mary's fb post and screw the unappreciative people who thought this video was boring. no it isnt a video of them doing an enormous burnout with a 1000hp car or ripping through the streets ken block style with dancing gorillas. but its a genuine insight to what the build process is like when you're working on a project you sincerely care about. I've been watching mcm since the very early days and i love how you guys have stuck true to your roots and shown us the ground up builds. i've built a handful of cars in my time but always steered away from electronics because i feel like im hopeless with the little wires and currents etc. but videos like this remind be that you just gotta get it done and give it a try. you appreciate it so much more when you just do it yourself. good shit marty love ya work
Funnily enough I was once told that the Japanese language has no real word for the colour green. In their language, green is considered a shade of blue. I'm told the actual primary colour is that teal colour that Makita tools are. Not sure if that's true or not but seeing green translated as grass does kind of corroborate that.
@Por Qué? Sort of on topic, there's a liqueur from Japan that is used in coctails called Midori Green Melon. A bit redundant to call it midori and green in the same sentence though.
Awesome work! A challenge and you've done it. Got to say, the influence from you and the guys at Haltech and BCW have definitely made things better, when wiring on my own car, I'm now using proper connectors and proper tools. Keep it up!
What an awesome little build. Props to your mate in Japan for getting that wiring schematic for you. Good friend. Very cool to see this running on the Haltech.
Barely understood any of this but enjoyed every minute of it. Marty youre a true hero mate. Keep pushing your limits because watching what you blokes can do with cars is truly inspiring

Well done Marty! I once had to redo all the wiring in my 68 Mustang and adapt it to a new Bosch coil with a closed coil to switch assembly (security regulations in Germany), to get it street legal. Was a real nightmare. You need balls to touch any electrics in a car. Chapeau...
Just seen Marty’s Facebook post about how people hate on ‘nerdy’ videos… I just wanted to say I love all your videos even if I have no idea what is going on. A different but still enjoyable video, thanks for sharing. Over the years you've always been into your wiring etc, and you can see the enjoyment you get from achieving it all
Finally getting into it. Held off on watching any new eps, so they could build up and I could do a little binge watching. Surprised you didn't get the ecu pinout from the dealer first. I've gone through the Subaru dealership and they are super helpful. If they don't have it, they get with the Subaru manufacturer. I had to do this to show proof that my Subaru was built for and sold in Japan, so I could get it legal for the road. I was bringing the car back to Japan and I didn't have the export certificate.
I want to modify a Daihatsu Hijet Deck van so bad... But getting one here in Canada is very difficult. I'm living vicariously through you guys! Keep up the good content!
All I can think of is turbo yoda saying something like: "Almost complete, your training is" while standing in front of a fan. You're really smashing these builds now. Great can do attitude and knowledge.
Thanks for the nerdery. Awesome info and good to come along for the journey. Hoping to do a haltech in the future so the more information the better, thanks!
Thats awesome you can do all that by yourself, with some help from your mate of course, but it inspires me that i could do my own upgrades to my fiesta st. Thanks Martin and Moog, for all you do
I love when you get nerdy and show us how to. Most of us probably won't go that far, but it's nice to know we can if we want. Also, I am anxiously wait for my Cheryl's Big Box w lucky dip! Great video, i'm currently learning about ECUs CAN/FlexRay etc, and it's great that you provide us with alot of knowledge around the ECU side of cars. A lot of good information. Another great video as always!
Great job Marty! After being stuck on wiring up my Glanza gauge cluster in my Starlet for a week, I can't imagine tackling wiring an entire car like this. Looking forward to the aestetics!
So so good, awesome to see how far you guys have come with the knowledge and the know how! Kei truck sounds absolutely sick haha, 3 cylinder nuggety goodness with the turbo flutter, so cool :D
We've got a bunch of stuff made especially for people who love cars, we'll pack it up and send it to you anywhere: www.mightycarmods.com/collections
May I ask what vaccines did u guys get or did U get it
Hurley think what you guys done with that truck is really cool👍😎
awesome job marty!
Hey Marty . Now that you have a translated wiring diagram maybe put up a link to make it available for anyone that may need it 👍
I shouldn't hope this... But god I hope moog got a kei van.... I really do.
Let’s get a round of applause for Rob getting the info and translating all of it. What a legend
Second this.
Rob well done
Rob is the real MVP! (and of course the Haltech legends.)
Oh, then there's Google Lens.
@@twinshock175 it’s no good for kanji, I’ve got some stickers I tried to translate, it had no idea 🤣

Watching Marty throughout the years you can see how far along his skills have come. Keep up the good work sir!
Facts same for Moog
Their skills changed, Them themselves didn't at all. Still the old moog and Marty. That's what I love about these dudes
I just got here (like last month) it’s a trip to see these boys cover all the topics mostly for my jmd mad ideas aga
They have come a long way from the start, lots of knowledge gained along the way! And yes pretty much the same people
Watching Marty geek is enjoyable but there's something missing without Moog's barefoot wrenching and trouser hand shaking.
holy cow, Rob is an incredible friend for doing all that!

Can we just appreciate the Daihatsu dealer for just giving the pinouts and Rob for translating everything? Champs!
