hey moog do you have your own channel for music? would be awesome to record some stuff and put it up behind the scene stuff. and show off your studio i would love it and im sure alot of people watching would love it also
That first version was _amazing_ to see. No talking, wonderful supporting music, and you even skipped the usual MCM intro. And yet, you perfectly presented what was going on with the truck. I'll enjoy this long version as well, I expect.
lol should of tried using the small turbo to feed the bigger turbo

We need more Turbo Yoda!
benny and al's cameo made me miss the good old days. i watch both their channels but i still miss the good old days when they were all in the video
Yup
Hopefully when vackseems are more prevalent and we can hopefully knock stuff down they can all get into videos together again.
BUT HOW MUCH DID IT COST?! Price breakdown in the description... doesn't include tools and electricity and timtam packets but gives you a bit of an idea of the stuff we bought from various places to complete the swap. Tuning it will cost some more for ECU and Dyno time but this is a starting point.
Great vid!, wish i could afford to do this myself, ive got a na impreza. i actually found a supercharger kit for it but it'll have to stay a dream, Stay safe from Perth!
Put in piggyback..haltech standalone is expensive
"How much did it cost?" More then its worth, but if Marty gets to enjoy it and gives us 2 great videos, its priceless.
Toyota Previa, boost from below.
Probably less than buying a timtam on amazon in the u.s.
TurboYoda may not be a man of big words, but he is the true TurboJediMaster.

Just wanted to say thank you Marty and moog and ALL of MCM/Unicorn Circuit. I reached out for donations as a classroom teacher and they were happy to help. Keep in mind in in the middle of the USA in Indiana. Thanks MCM, I’ll email a pic of the class later!

The first video with the artsy shots and music was really well made and looked pretty, but personally I enjoyed this one much more. All personal taste, but to me the build process is much more interesting than the finished product.
something for everyone
@@mightycarmods true, and keep it up, you guys have consistently provided us viewers with some of the best car content on the internet for many years now.
Try drifting it once you're done. I promise it won't roll on you......
Sammit that was the funniest thing I have seen in ages! ✌
LOL - they actually drift , well on dirt ...... remember the one Taku's mate has .... but yeah funny as too see you watching MCM and actually dropping a comment
Sammit.. buy a pair of rwd wheel (1pair wider than the other pair) and put the wider pair up front... It help stabilized the van...

Producing this in both filming styles offers us viewers a lot of insight on not only what it takes to turbo a kei truck, but also what it takes to document the experience. Thanks for continuing to give the internet some truly excellent content, lads!
I love that after all these years you guys still put so much effort into your videos and builds ✌
I fuckin love when you guys talk about the filming process and camera gear.
I have that 5D4 camera and Samyang 35mm f2.8 lens - it works. Do you notice the judder ? This video was uploaded to youtube at 25fps, and being played back on my 60fps tablet (most phones are a,so 60fps). The 25 to 60fps conversion is causing judder. RUclipsrs should always film and upload in 30 of 60fps.
On desktop all the lower res re-encoded versions do actually play at 25FPS.
I like this format, quick little video of the entire process followed by a longer detailed video I can skip through.
Please please please the tuning part of this guy's would be the icing on the cake!!!!
Boys that last episodes was one of the best I've watched on the tube. Ever. Respect.
Got the perfect turbo sitting im my garage. TD025t0.5m. Designed by mitsubishi for a 1.5 engine. You can have it if you want to come & get itl
Marty, your welds are looking so good! Nice to see the progress over the years.
I really like this new parallel video format! I've been wrenching on cars for years now and knew pretty much everything you were doing without the explanation and voiceover, and it was refreshing to have a chill video with only music. But something was missing. You captured exactly that in this video, kudos!
That informational aspect rather than straight entertainment.
Hey, something relevant; the RHB31 is factory fitted to first gen Cappuccino's! the RHF3 is the same frame size but newer and better designed (RHF vs RHB), and a "big" turbo upgrade is a RHF4 which is the next frame size up.
Nice! I enjoyed the 10 minute version, I'm going to enjoy this even more! Thanks guys!
why not both is the meme of choice here!
When the engine blows up this needs a k swap or pd130
@@mightycarmods why not both turbos?
@@guylishman3209 You spelt Rotary wrong!
Nope definitely said k swap or pd130 correctly, rotarys are good engines and that but only when they work and they go rong a lot and require a lot more maintenance and parts are even more expensive and hard to come by 😂
Ay lads, any chance of making a metal mug? I'd be afraid of using a ceramic mug in the garage in case I break it.

No such thing as "hard" and "easy" only a matter of time. If you normally think something is hard, just change your mindset and say it takes a lot of time. You get rid of the "hard" aspect and mentally it makes the job easier. Before my injury when I was a mechanic, I wouldn't look at a job based on how hard it was, only the time it took. And usually I would end up completing the job way before the paid time. So if a job paid 6 hours I would get it done in 4 hours, but still get paid 6. All because I kept my mind on the idea that it would take time instead of how hard it was. Some people don't get it, think im crazy, but once you start doing it, things move forward pretty well.
Also, you keep saying your skill level. like you want to apologize. don't. do what you love, do what you want, and enjoy the shit out of it! love the build.
I'm attempting to turbo my AE95 corolla 4x4 wagon , so seeing the process on the kei truck is really interesting! Cheers

Nerdy and exciting stuff you mean Martin ✌😁 this makes me want to turbo my 1 litre K11
do it!
Martin, you talk about the RHB31 and the RHF3 being the "Upgrade" for Daihatsu Land but you forgot about the RHB32 that came out on Charade Turbos from factory.
Using the factory parts off a original G11 Turbo i ended up turboing my G200 Charade, the only let down was the mechanical fuel pump couldnt keep up and the carby would begin surging
@@FixingWithFriends i was running the factory G11 Turbo carb instead of the G200 NA carb. Problem was G11 Turbos have an electric fuel pump where as the NA engines use mechanical fuel pumps, the mechanical pump cant keep up with the fuel requirements needed to run the engine properly, sure it would idle and i could slowly accelerate along but if i miss judged how hard i accelerated tbe car would start hunting along and starve for fuel
First 100 comments!!!
Was waiting for this! Missing the bucket on the intake!
The planning and skill to make two videos, and then plan and build a turbo system on top of that. 👍
The hard line from power steering pumps makes great return flanges!!
Good tip, thanks!
You might do engine work from under the seat in a Cab Over truck, if you cut a hole through the floor!
I'm surprised Turbo Yoda didn't laugh at the engine size. He really has seen and heard it all.

I have a seemingly dumb question, I have a 2013 opel astra j 1.4t pushing 158 wheel kw. How do I get my turbo to make those sweet sounds? Love this channel, have been a fan since the Subarute build.
It would be hilarious if they were to get another kei truck and STI swap it, it might just fit in there

TimTam's are hands down my favorite cookie and you guys introduced me to them on the Unicorn Circuit. When I can find them here (Oregon, US) I keep a pack in the tool box incase someone needs a morale boost in the shop. Broken new parts or tools, TimTam. When placing things always look at what it takes to repair or remove the thing in 2 years. A good fabrication rule. That battery placement you will need to remove that crossmember to change the battery. There must be a better spot.
Oh that turbo flutter.... I can hear the turbo fins shaking and disbalancing itself.
Pressure relief valve! or blow-off or whatever. It's meant to be used!
I watch a many of RUclips videos from basically all the automotive content creators. But no one does it like MCM. Don’t know what it is. But everything they do is relatable. I have never met these guys. But I almost seems like I work with the guys everyday when they make one of these videos. Freaking awesome love when a new one drops no matter the material, because at the end of the day they have killed it. That being said. I think the guys should do another engine swap. One in a sexy kinda modern Jdm legend. With one of the worlds best engines. Mk4 Supra with a n/a coyote. It would tick off the entire world and I think the guys would be down for it. Plus I don’t think it’s ever been done. Sure it’s difficult and expensive but just imagine it being delivered in this same format. Complete short video at first with the detailed one to follow. I would watch it 10 times. Cheers fellas
Everything's great as of late. But wtf about Marty's gemini???
I might never meet you guys in real life but just so you know , i love guys!
Thanks for the great videos!!!

If my suspicions are correct, Marty smokes weed and I swear I can tell the exact point in the video where he comes back on screen after a session lol
And so what? It's legal where I live. Only difference is nobody sells it privately anymore.

Great for people to see how much time it takes for the different shots for a video. Redoing stuff, setup, lens changes etc rather than just getting on with it. Appreciate all the effort as always.
Nice job guys. Always a pleasure.
is it bad that my eyes lit up and a smile crossed my face when i saw a time mark of 58:55?
Suzuki carry has a lift seat turbo conversion
I'll admit, in the first vid I was wondering why you went with a primary, so much more common for failing on the Legacy's (since it's on boost so much of the time), here in NZ the wrecker prices are over $600 for any, just because supply and demand figures are so skewed. BG's and BH's aren't worth wreckers time anymore, but there's still so so many old ones on the road blowing primary turbo's all the time that the demand outstrips supply quite redily here. The secondary's though, comparitively speaking never fail, and so are a dime a dozzen. I was surprisde to hear how cheap and easy it was for you to track down primary turbo's! That said market place here you can still pick em up for cheap, but they get gobbled up pretty quick at those prices.
Marty, you really shoult fit a small flex pipe on that exhaust... the vibrating forces from the exhaust and the engine movement will be sent to your welds and break them somewhere.
And you didn't fit any BOV, did you? It's not that good for that compressor wheel, releasing the overpressure over it... altough it makes funny noises because of that...
#HeartTheFart @ 54:24 i believe marty makes a little blow off sound of his own. may i have permission to use the fart clip? thank you :D hugs love and bee safe :D keep up the awesome vids :D
Thats some nice over night parts from japan 🇯🇵👌

Lovely & smooth !
You're not a Bower bird, you're a Maggie !
A Toyota Tarago (Previa/Estima) would be a Turbo conversion under the seat...
Kinda smooth. The 25fps upload is causing judder on my 60fps tablet. Most phones and computer monitors are also 60fps. RUclipsrs should film and upload in 30 or 60fps for to avoid conversion judder on movement.
