  • In this 8 April excursion to Pettis County, MO, a nice lake was explored for several purposes. First was to see if the bass have moved onto the banks. No, the spring frenzy/bite hasn't turned on yet but it is currently in progress. A Z-Man Finesse WormZ in PB&J and a Z-Man "Sling Blade" spinnerbait brought a dozen bass to hand.
Secondly, my friend Sparky brought his Pond Prowler for its maiden voyage. It performed well for the first time out and a lot of lessons were learned. Unfortunately, the milder, forecasted 11 mph winds turned into a very breezy afternoon with sustained winds of 25-30....not good for small watercraft.
All in all it was still an enjoyable day and the next time out will be even better.
Rudie Tootie has a nice cameo for his fans hahaha.
    Enjoy the show!

Thanks, Grumpy, for stopping by and glad you enjoyed the show. The eclipse wasn't very obvious at the longitude where we were but there was some dimming of the light. Hope all's well on your end, Don

Thanks so much, Virgillio, and I'm glad you liked the show. We have a dry and windy spring so far, but that's how it goes. There is still a lot of fishing adventures coming up! Best wishes, Don

Hi to Barry aka Sparky! Great fun for you guys until the wind kicked up. Thanks for taking us along for your maiden voyage!❤

Thanks, Sis! As you know, we have had a really dry and windy spring so far (in this area anyway) and so rolled the dice on the weather forecast on this adventure. Barry and I were both excited for his first pond prowler outing and It showed that those small craft have a lot of fishing potential...with more manageable winds. Have a great week; one of these days we will be dragging them in on TK2! Don

That wind is no fun on the open water. Looks like it didn’t slow down the bite much. Thanks for taking us alone Don!

Thanks for stopping by, Daniel. Wind has been a real issue this spring. Finding short windows in the wind calender has been infrequent but along with warm days, there's indications that fishing will pick up a lot real soon. Have a wonderful week, Don

Okay here is a good question you can only pick 2 zman micro plastics which are the most effective 2 for all around fishing in your opinion?

Thanks for stopping by, Kristen. Of the micro finesse family (and this isn't an easy choice) I'd have to take Tiny TicklerZ and Shad FryZ if I could only take 2. The TTz would work as a Ned rig for when fish want a slow moving bait that relates to the bottom. The Shad FryZ would catch fish wanting something moving/swimming through the water. Best wishes. Don

Hey buddy. Good to see you are still smashing them. I wanted to do an Eclipse video but work was calling.

Thanks for stopping by my friend! Hope you are having good fishing on your side of the state. Winds have been an obstacle quite a bit this spring and we sure need rain hereabouts. I think you have all the cool high tech stuff now so your great fisheries should be great fun. Have a great week, Don
