Got a project bike was gonna do the bare minimum and sell it but after watching a few videos I’m going over every little detail. Your videos are so informative. A dog could watch this video and properly assemble a transmission after
Thanks Steve 🤘. Just picked up a z400 project that was torn apart. I could see inside & do a general inspection before buying. Was nice to see good engine parts n decent overall trans inspection.. the specifics I hadn’t got to yet. This is super helpful. Had shifting to 4th issues.
Good video, I am having problems shifting into neutral on my 2007 Suzuki RMZ250. I was wanting to know without tearing into the mother that far what might be the problem. Thank you, for your help.
what if the manual you have seems to be wrong (clymer). it says to put the snap rings in the wrong orientation on the mainshaft. it got it right on the countershaft. the correct way is with the sharp edge facing away from the gear it is holding in... right?
Hey I really need some help. I have a 2020 crf250r everytime I let off the throttle I get this friction skimming sound like something is spinning and rubbing against something. It goes away immediately when I pull in the clutch. And when I try to recreate the sound when i put it on a stand with no load the sound isn't really there. You kind of hear a noise but it's way more quiet and might be something else even or normal. But when I ride the noise is there. It's the only video on my channel if you want to hear the noise. I'm guessing like a countershaft bearing possibly?
Found some metal in gear oil on my 2 stroke. Bikes is chattering or knocking. Could this noise be caused by anything other than top end or crank? Also the clutch plates are eating at that metal casing they are in
Man, sounds like your going to have to teardown the engine either way. If the clutch plates are eating at the cover, either something is loose, or you have a smoked bearing. Let us know what you find!
Hello i just want to ask if somebody can tell me where i can find all newton meters for the whole engine (torque) For every screw in engine for honda crf250r 2017 I have a service manual, but it is not written in it Please help Thanks for your answer
Hi, I have a question about the transmission forks, I have two type C forks, both removed from yz250f 2005. One is marked 5NL 5 and the other 5NL 8 so I wonder if you know what the difference is? Are both original for that engine?
i'm hoping i can get a response from someone on this, i have a 1996 ktm 400 with shifting issues. the dogs on my 2nd gear look like the ones at 5:36, my shifting issue is it won't allow me into 2nd gear. it will shift into 1st fine but then hit false neutral or stay in 1st gear. when the bike is off it shifts freely through everything but when it's running it won't shift past 2nd gear. i was also suggested to shave down the worn part, is this safe or would you suggest it at all? new parts is $250 and i don't have that much.
I'd look at the shift forks first. If you can't afford the new part look on eBay see if you can buy an entire used transmission that came out of a good running and shifting bike just make sure it says that in the description or ask the seller. Please don't go crazy spending money on this old of a bike though. Parts are hard to find and expensive and you're just going to continue to have other problems. You are better off even at this point just getting a different bike something newer or even finance one if you can afford a hundred or $200 a month. Sometimes the amount of time you waste trying to fix things you could be putting towards making money for your bike payment so you spend more time riding and less downtime!
@@mxfreaks to be fair I only spent $300 on the bike with the title, its street legal and probably the fastes 400 I've had even compared to my 2005 crf450. I don't mind putting about $1000 on to it to make it a good running bike but like you said parts are hard to find. However I found an entire working motor for $350 that I can either use as parts or swap when needed. After that ill still only be around $700-$800 spent on a titled street legal bike.
@@mxfreaks also I cbecked the shift forks, 1 had slight wear so all were replaced along with the drum and shift star. I just tossed it back together and waiting to start it up now
@@joet6990 Nice good luck brother, seems like you are more than capable. Hopefully it runs and shifts good! I'm doing a YZ250 build on my channel right now check it out and subscribe if interested!
Little advise but dont go to utube for answers (im guilty of it) most of the time u can do it on ur own i took apart a jug off my dirtbike and got it back on all today u just gotta do it
What could my problem be on my yfz450 04, on every gear mostly 5th because I’m on full throttle, it bugs out and just has a rev limiter on top end but yet I know it could handle more mph but just doesn’t want to go.

@@rmatvmc great video .. I wish you could’ve took just a little bit more time explaining how to go through the gears with the drum at the end ..
What is the motor ? The transmission look better than a yz250. I know the yz250 is not best transmission on the market...
This is out of a 2015 KTM 300 XC-W

My 08 KTM 250 sxf will not go into 6th gear, what do I need to look for that would cause this type of problem? Thanks for the videos!
What could be my problem on my 2002 kx 125 second hear grinds and locks up but all the other gears work
Thanks for the video. Pretty sure I can handle this.
My dirt bike aperently just got factory re build by Honda but some some of the gears already look worn out. Is this normal? Crfr 450 2007
Depends if they felt they needed to replace the gears or not. Did they say they were going to?

Old mate KTM 360 uses that style of snap ring.

Can someone give me a link to a transmission for a Apollo rfz 125cc
my fifth gear is siezed on my drive shaft. how Do i get it off
My wr450 transmission does not operate through gears with split cases, is that normal?
I have same problem😂
Why don't you measure the shaft and I/O diameters of gears for service specs? Is it necessary?
Anyone know we’re I can get a new input shaft
Depending on what bike you need one for, you may be able to find it in our OEM parts finder here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-parts
1st great vids
👍🏾
its just like a F1 transmission
Its just a sequential gearbox. Pretty common.
Excellent 👏🏼
