This is great, it gives guys confidence to tackle splitting the cases. If you can do a timing belt on your car, you can build a bike engine. KTM makes splitting the cases much easier than other brands, rarely any need for heating blankets etc.
Excellent how to video and love that Rocky Mountain put the time in to make a 6th gear kit. I do have a question of why the 19-22 kit comes with a 5th gear idler for the main shaft when the idler gear your replacing is the same part number as the one you’re replacing it with?
Thanks! It's actually not the same part number. One of the gears is one tooth different, so both of the 5th gears are cut differently than the stock gears on those bikes. -Charles
Thanks for your reply . I’m trying to figure out exactly what ratio changes will be made primarily to 5th gear. My understanding is that the XC/SX 2018-2022 all use a 5th gear 24:24 ratio. Also the 2018 450 XC/SX counter shaft part number is 79433010100 which is the same counter shaft used to add 6th gear. If the sliding 5th gear from a 2018 KTM 450 XC/SC part number 79433015200 was used it would fit the new counter shaft and still maintain the original 24:24 5th gear ratio also eliminating the need to purchase a idler 5th gear. Is your kit changing the 5th gear ratio to the 23:24 wide ratio transmission of the EXC?@@rmatvmc
I have a 2015 FC450 I might be looking to do this on but when selecting 2015 only KTM is an option. Is the 15 sxf motor/ transmission different than an FC?

Why do you guys call this a “wide ratio” swap when it’s just a short ratio with 6th added? I’d love to figure out if swapping to the fe transmission ratio is possible. Do you have any info on that?

Just what I needed! Great video as always, really appreciate the time and effort gone into making these 👍
It's a shame the xc-f didn't come with the 6 speed as standard like the 350's.
I have a 2018 4-speed euro version 450 sxf. Would this kit work to add 5th and 6th gear?
i really want to know that as well

Yes do you carry a upgrade for 125cc 4 speed ?
Have a kit for the 23+ motor yet?

Would this fit a 2014 450sxf Factory edition? looking at the parts diagram the 2015 factory edition has the same parts as the 2014?
When will the kit be in stock? Not available on website

Would this work for the ktm 525sx ?
Anybody know what the top speed would roughly be?
Is there kit available for the 2012 450 sx-f. Thanks
Sorry, we do not have a kit that fits the 2012 model and are not aware of one that would work.

I'm trying to find the same thing shame it's so hard to find any info
will there be a kit for 250sxf
We don't have plans for one as of now. -Charles

Why wideratio is not good
Does this for sure work on a 2015 SX-F 450 non factory edition?
This does not fit the 2015 450 SX-F non factory edition bikes.
