I love the black dress! Your thrift flips are really great. So often you see people 'upcycling' clothing but then just cutting up something that was very unique into something flimsy and generic, but you really just make cool pieces into other cool or just better fitting pieces. No downcycling here!

Right?? Some people really think whipping out a pair of scissors then not hemming anything is an improvement.

I love how the changes felt small (most of them) but they made such a big difference.
I’m not a big fan of seeing all of the afters at the end, I’d rather see them right away after each item is being done because my impatient ass can’t wait that long haha😅

It's more altering/tailoring than what I think of as upcycling

Oh, and you asked for ideas for the leopard fabric scraps: You could make little bows or similar elements to attach to the top of the pearl earrings. This should look cute on its own and killer together with one of the leopard tops.

      Or just hair bows!

    • @abigailw4599
      @abigailw4599 Год назад

Yes or a scrunchie! I prefer hair bows but I've seen a lot of people make matching scrunchies. If it were me I'd use a square or triangle piece of the fabric as a hair scarf!

Love it ! for that black dress, since you were talking about versatile clothing, you could just add two safety fin to the sides of the waistband, tread a ruban through them to cinch it in and then nod it at the back ! I've seen a couple of those diys on TikTok, they're really easy and reversible

You could use the remaining fabric from the leopard dress to make it into a belt or something. I think it would look really good to wear any of the two tops with a cute pair of jeans and then the matching belt.

Hamtaro is the winner 😂🧡 and should def stay!!! Loved seeing these flips. I think I prefer the tank of the leopard print, but that’s me projecting my anxiety about strapless tops haha. This isn’t a flip, but I was super proud of myself for finally taking my fave jeans into the tailor to get a new zipper (something I’d put off for over a year) and I love having them in my wardrobe again.

These turned out super! I really like the faux fur collar to the coat! Of course i like the black dress on you. Just more waist emphasis, is my preference. I actually wore baby doll dresses in the 90s, & someone thought i was pregnant, when i was NOT. I want the skirt! Nice leopard print tops & earrings. I wore a bubble prom dress in the late 80s, so nope on that for me. It looks grand on you!

I make jewelry and I love the earrings! So simple but it would be a great way to show off the beads and they're such an elegant shape!
Small fabric scraps would be great for making scrunchies (big or small) or a headband. Or you can make tiny bags like for storing jewelry or other small items

  • @mels3725

  • @anonymousme8294

These are so cute! If you would want the black dress to fit your waist somehow, I think that it would be a good idea to add like an inch wide of fabric ( idk what it is called ) but like a long fabric attached to the sides of the waist, the you can tie it to have a fitted look

I recently started made a small handbag / belt bag with leftover fabric from a dress to skirt thriftflip. Its not done yet, but I think having a bag that fits the skirt (or top) would be really cool. Alternatively, you could make a scrunchy or other hair accessoire, or even a belt that fits with your top. Depending on how much fabric you have left over.

I love what you've done, you make it look so easy! On the black dress, as I was watching your before and after I was thinking "I would take the waist in a little" just before you said it on the video. And although I can't wear tube tops myself because I cannot go without a bra and have never found a strapless that actually holds my girls up, I love the two tops you made out of the dress!

I love that you just go for it and don’t overcomplicate the process with any of these- very brave and inspiring!! ❤😊
I highly recommend jewelry pliers that have a “smooth jaw”- couldn’t see if yours had teeth (ridges on the inside of the metal that grip), but a lot of “toolbox” pliers have them, and they leave unwanted dents in the metal jewelry components. You can get jewelry pliers with teeth, but for these reasons, a pair with a smooth jaw is the way to go imo 👌😊

I also have a huge pile of clothing to be altered and this was very inspirational - I’m happy I found your channel!! I love the black dress and would vote for bringing the waist in! Also I like leopard print top B, but I think A would look even cuter if you maybe tapered the edges a little bit so it’s more fitted and the bottom hem doesn’t flare out. I would’ve change the neckline on that blue dress and tame the Puffy sleeves down a bit to cute dress but I don’t like the neckline I think it’s too high the one that you compared it with that had a better neckline straight across would look way better and you could even make that into a two piece instead of keeping it a one piece
