Dance Gavin Dance - The Ghost of Billy Royalton (Bass Cover)

This was the March challenge song and a culmination of all that I've learned in 4 months and it was definitely worthy of a monthly challenge.
I wanted to up the tempo and increase the difficulty slightly by playing faster songs and doing something that is more difficult but doable. I'm trying to transition to getting more comfortable using a pick since that's something I've been struggling since the beginning and if I wanted to learn my favorite songs from some of my favorite bands, I was going to have to suck it up eventually and focus on it.
Personally this was a big milestone because I love DGD and they are all incredibly talented. I didn't want even think about learning until I got more comfortable with playing because everything is so intricate. This was really fun to learn and I didn't get frustrated once!
I have some more I'd like to learn in the short term that are probably a little bit easier but the reason why I picked this one to learn first was for better pick control, string switching, muting so strings don't ring out on the faster parts going up and down, and really one of my long term goals is to be able to play "proggy" stuff proficiently. (Also this is just a REALLY good song and a heartwarming tribute). I still feel like I have a long way to go before I can do more songs like this consistently but learning this was a good reminder of where I started to where I'm at now.
