Welcome to my channel. Using this as a platform for me to share the progress of playing bass and to see how far I can go. I'm looking forward to the long road and I appreciate everyone for checking out the progression.
Killswitch Engage - My Curse (Bass Cover)
The song that opened up the floodgates for me. Not just for heavy music but all music in general. If it wasn't for this song I probably wouldn't be as open to listening to all different types of music because you just never know what you're going to end up liking, loving or disliking.
This is probably my absolute limit as far as faster songs go currently. Learning this one was special just because playing this on a plastic guitar 16 years ago and realizing that I actually like the rhythm and bass part more of songs in general kinda changed how I listened to music in general. Now here we are 16 years later where I felt confident I could learn this on a real instrument.

I think for 2, maybe 3 years in a row this song was on my top 5 most played on Spotify. I don't really listen to pop punk all too much but I do like Belmont and how their songs sound. I thought Aftermath was pretty good but this is my favorite song by them. I heard the intro of this just one time and I was sold instantly. Thanks for watching!

Realized about halfway through learning this one that I'm probably going through something lol. This was the first time I caught myself learning something subconsciously because of an emotion rather than trying to get better at a specific technique or aspect of playing. But my ear is slowly getting better and I'm not having to rely on tabs as much. Regardless of why I learned it, I do like this...

This was hard! I couldn't avoid scales forever and this was very satisfying to learn. The second part of the mini bass solo was so hard to get clean and why I have been drilling getting my picking skills down. I feel like I leveled up a bit and I'm getting closer to playing more intricate bass lines with and without using a pick. Thanks for watching!

Yo did you get that tab from rocksmith? i remember learning that one. i chose the songsterr version because i think its more accurate to the rocording but this rocksmith version has some cool uniqueness.
It’s a little bit of rocksmith just to see how it’d play. But most of it is from an old guitar pro tab and how it’d sound good to my ear.
there is a MUCH easier way to play this in drop c#, you don’t need to move around the fretboard that much

Thank you! Yeah I did. It didn’t sound too different from Sweater Weather so I used that as a reference point and it was slow enough to pick out what notes were what. Still getting the hang of it but figured it wouldn’t be too bad to try to learn by ear.
