Of course, at the time of emotion we don't notice and think everything was perfect, but when we watch the show on the internet, we notice the mistakes.
I never had Ace as my guitar hero, but nowadays I understand how important he is in the history of rock and guitar playing and I respect that ! That´s why so many guitar heroes started play seeing Ace on Kiss, like Dimebag, Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, Dave Mustaine, Chris Caffery and Bumblefoot. He rocked the 70´s !! But the sands of time always keep going, and I can tell you that it´s more difficult to play with 72 than 25 or 35 years old. Only who plays knows ... the ears are not the same, the eyes are not the same and even the fingers do not move as before. I think it´s difficult for him to stop playing, and as he said, he miss the audience. But so many people still go to see him. Let Ace make his rock´n´roll !! Sure its not the same as in the 70´s but it´s still Ace without backing tracks !
I looked at a few of these vids from this night. If you watch real close, he keeps pointing at the monitor. If you cant hear yourself, it can screw you up big time. Our singer always ran our sound. I kept telling him to go over and turn me up in the my monitor. He didnt. I ended up playing Home Sweet Home in a completely different key. I was so pissed when i realised it. A friend that was in the crowd told not to get on myself over it. Everybody does it and the crowd was too drunk to notice.
OMG this is terrible! I adore Ace since the age of 16, when I experienced KISS, immediately fell in love with Ace in a way and had an Ace tattoo which I never regret to this day. He's my hero for being himself all the time through the ups and downs of being a rock star. My tattoo was even "Tattoo of the month" on his website (it's the icon of his KISS make up). This performance however is the much worst I've ever seen of him, although I've seen a lot of drunken performances of him. Ace, you will never read this of course but please let me not keep you in memory in such a way. I don't want to cover up your tattoo because it's so embarassing.
he's the reason I play guitar and play a Les Paul but unfortunately his go hard lifestyle has caught up to him, proud how long he's been sober but the damage was done long ago :(
You keep saying, my tattoo was meaning you don't have it any longer. You are contradicting yourself. Was is past tense. You gave it away that you don't have any longer, and had it removed or covered up lmao
Ive seen too many shows with him enebriated while claiming hes been so many years sober, hes been playing sloppy and doesnt care anymore its really sad hes the reason i picked up the guitar
Very good performance. Nice to hear Ace still making the songs more interesting with different jazz arrangements. Gives it tension and edge. Ace rules!
I hate to admit it...but Ace looks so much more energetic when he plays WITH Kiss...watching him play without him, he looks...I dunno...just kind of going through the motions, though I love Ace and think Kiss has never been the same without him.
I was at this show! It was so AWFUL seems like they were playing slow and ACE phoned it in! Im done seeing ACE. Kore Rozzik the opening band was freakin awesome!
Ace play that part a half step higher by mistake. The main solo was in key. He autopilot was off that night and probably didn’t even realize it because he’s deaf.
Yup, agreed, Ace suddenly ups it a half step for that riff/groove part of the song, so what you get is this clash of notes where the bass is a half step below Ace and the second guitar harmony ends up being a flat 5 in unison..an utterly scary sound 😅
I love Ace to death but it's really sad to see this. He must have played this song more times than any other human being, there was no way he could get it wrong, yet here he failed miserably.
there is a brazilian youtuber spreading hate against you Ace, calling you a drunk is his channel, and asking people to come hate in your videos! dude is called Regis Tadeu, well know anti-metal hate spreading in Brazil.
This is one of the worst renditions of DRC I have ever heard. He is a step behind in his speech and his playing. Bum notes everywhere. The only thing that is saving him is a good backing band. I hope he’s not back on the bottle or substances, especially at his age. But if not that, I’m very concerned for him as there might be something else going on from a health perspective. I hope not but this doesn’t add up. He’s going from bad to worse as the tour progresses.

yeah it would. Anybody knows the band is great. It's Ace that is falling apart. He is one of the biggest name sin rock n roll having that on your resume goes a long way
No bro. It won't hurt them at all. Anyone whose followed this band over the last few years knows the band (besides Ace) is solid. People in the business understand what it is. It's a gig. It's a paycheck. It's a chance for guys to make a living at a time when it's VERY difficult for older (or even younger) rock musicians to make ends meet without a day job. Having gigged with Ace will actually help them get work down the line. Pros will appreciate that they kept their composure and played their best despite being fronted by an old hack who is clearly under the influence.
Sounds like some type of harmonizer effect was activated at the board or something. It's not Ace and the band; please don't try and insinuate that they don't know how to play their instruments. That's ridiculous and insulting.
LOL seriously? It is Ace, He is playing a step higher than the rest. You can even see Jeremy change positions to try to match him but they were still off from the bass so it didn't work
OK Lighten up People! Remember ACE is in his early 70's and playing with people half his age on stage for about 1 1/2 Hours. Lets SEE YOU do this, and remember all the note of each song EXACTLY!! Les Paul's are heavy and the dexterity to play a 8 to 10 Lb Guitar can be onerous at times. Also he may be suffering from all types of medical problems that WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT! Some medications(s) can alter perception but not make you stoned, just medicated. Yeah, it sounds like crap, but still it's ACE FREELY on stage. When He's gone, lets hope all of you haters will remember the better times, when he played brilliantly. For me, I saw all of the Show(s) here in London Ontario, from about 1975 to 1979 ish. I saw the first time (and Photo's to PROVE IT) when ACE used the smoke bomb Les Paul in action. I have lots of vivid memories of KISS, as they inspired my Rock Photography career from 1979 to 1992.
Guess he forgot the solo was in the same key as the rest of the song😳
And people want KISS to bring this garbage back on stage for the final show lmao

I think it's partly to do with the fact that he's playing Paul's rhythm parts and not the the way he's always known.
Ace put out another album and touring cause he owes the I.R.S !!
