      That's actually my gripe with this. His content is not necessarily "advanced" for someone who has been using Blender for a good amount of time, but considering it's called a "Tutorial," the pace at which he goes is basically like real-time for him with no concern given to the audience and for us it feels like a time lapse because like every two to three seconds you're pausing to try to recreate the thing he just did with shortcuts and super, super quick. When you have to go frame by frame to figure out what just happened, it sort of moves away from being a "tutorial" and into just an exhibition.

    • @connor5422
      @connor5422 2 года назад +3

      @@th3doorMatt he plans this out. this is the best take of multiple runs. he has to fuck around to find this kind of design and something he wants to put out as content.

    • @th3doorMatt
      @th3doorMatt 2 года назад +1

      @@connor5422 I feel like those are conflicting statements. He fucks around, but it's planned out...
      Whether or not it takes multiple runs doesn't detract from my original statement that if this is supposed to be a "tutorial" then it *should* be planned out and go at a pace which is a bit slower and more explanatory. Because yeah, this does just feel like a run through of him making something, which is cool for a showcase/exhibition video, but if you're going to call it a tutorial, then things should be dialed way, way back for those who are actually here to learn from a more beginner's perspective and not just admire as fellow intermediate/expert users of Blender.

    • @connor5422
      @connor5422 2 года назад

      @@th3doorMatt He fucks around PRIOR to making the tutorial of THIS, the final FUCK AROUND result. It's not a beginner guide, but it's definitely not just 20 minutes of on the spot thinking like the video suggests.

  • @ewanicorn8969
    @ewanicorn8969 3 года назад +40

    If your render background color is gray and the whole scene just looks grainy in render mode, follow these steps:
    - Render properties > Sampling > Denoising > Check box next to Viewport (leave it on automatic or if you have an Nvidia card, use OptiX). This should get rid of the grainy look.
    - World properties > Surface > Color: choose black. This will change the render background color to black as seen in the video.
    Great tutorial, by the way! Hope this helps anyone in need! :)

    The great thing about your tutorials is, that they use repetitive techniques. And that is a quit good thing, because once you have watched and build along some of your tutorials you already know the steps for, 4 example, setting up an ambient cube or how to play with the roughness which makes you way more aware to other things going on, such as complex shapes etc.
    I have been working with your tutorials for a while now and I must admit, they are damn good and very very helpful

      @@squash_goulash5079 hey, I'm pretty new to blender myself, so I'm not quite sure what the issue might be! Make sure your initial material is set up exactly the same and maybe you just need to take the Blend down in the Layer Weight node? I had to make mine super low at like 0.1 or 0.2. As for how dark the world is, if you go to the world setting on the right side of the screen, you can change the colour from default grey to black, i had to do that (not sure if it's just like that for newer versions of blender)

    Newby with Blender here. Not knowing why I am doing any of the steps in this tutorial makes it very impractical to use on personal projects. It is cool to just copy, but would be far more beneficial to learn why each step is being completed, and what each action accomplishes. This all went right over my head as far as learning goes. Easy is definitely the wrong adjective in my case. It would be cool if you could create a playlist of all your tutorials and listed in a way as to allow us to know which ones to watch in what order for the most educational impact.

    In case of bad pixelation: Go into the render settings and under "Denoising" turn on Viewport automatic and maybe Render NLM. Save often incase of a crash!

    hey Ducky3D, i just wanted to say thanks for doing these tutorials ❤. I just started using blender and I wanted to try this out, so far its going great. However, i just have some feedback to give on the video from a person who is just starting to learn blender. One thing that would really help is if you added all your shortcuts you do with your keyboard on the video so I know what to press. This would have really helped me out between 9:25 and 9:27 in the video, because you say "click on the cube" and then the video cuts to the cube being outlined, and I have no idea how you did that or what you pressed. After the video was cut along that time, it looks a bit different now then it did before the cut, so just a heads-up to maybe include your keyboard shortcut buttons on screen so we know exactly what to press. Thanks ❤

    Awesome tutorial! Thanks for making this. You are the king of coolness! I love how you do lighting and materials. Your tutorials are short and sweet and at the end I feel like I've learned and improved so much. I used this tutorial to create a music video on my channel. I hope you don't mind. I gave you a shout-out in the description. Let me know if any of it presents any issues. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

    Instead of a wire frame, you can also just click “hide emitter” can’t you? Or is that just in non hair particles? You can also just make a cube and make the particles “Volume” so it will take up the volume of the cube so you don’t have to subdivide and hide and displace and all that
