Pokemon Stadium videos seem like they would be faster to make instead of all the grind of a red/blue run. Don’t be afraid to make them if you are feeling burnt out. We will still enjoy them
The grind in a red/blue run usually isn’t bad if it’s solo because all of the exp goes to one mon. I think what is probably more of a potential problem for Jrose is the monotony of doing the same game over and over again. And also he tries to do it as fast as possible, which can be more stressful. At least with Stadium it’s just battles and nothing else.
Oh thanks God you are all right, since the last post about the concussion and the absence of videos I got really worried. Best notification I could ever wanted! And by the way, I love pokemon stadium, videos will be very welcome
Also fun fact: The last fight in Round 2 of Pika Cup is genuinely considered one of the, if not THE hardest fight in all of Pokemon. The last fight (if only using Rentals) has by word of Werster (the WR holder of the full-game speedrun) is considered to be a 6% chance of winning and that is with the opponent picking a SPECIFIC set of Pokemon (If Fisher picks Alakazam, its instaloss)
Bring on the Stadium Solo attempts! I honestly would never have thought of this, even with transfers since the later Cups and Gym Leader Castle can get rough even in Round 1.
Also not true. Pika cup is called “Yellow Cup” in Pokémon Stafium 2 because the Pokémon shin a be caught and used are all obtainable in Pokémon Yellow’s Japanese version. Including a level 15 machamp, golem, kangaskhan, and the other impossible types.
Surprised you didn’t use the Gen 2 technique. To teach Abra the elemental punches. Happy to see you covering and doing well. I remember when I got a concussion man. Welcome back.
I found your solo run videos by accident a long while back and kept watching for the fun, nostalgia, and completionist aspect. Stadium was my nemesis as a kid so seeing you defeat it would fuel my soul!!
Great to see you go back to your roots with a stadium video. I never got to play it as a kid, so seeing how it all works is really enjoyable. I'd love to see you continue this.
I look forward to seeing more Stadium content if you do decide to do so! Quick aside, people may know Stadium 2 to be the first one to have randomized trainers in Challenge Cup, but both "Stadium Zero" and the Japanese version of this game (not "Stadium Zero", our Stadium 1 and their "Stadium 1" (re: Stadium 2) are actually different as well!) has this too! For the former, the Level 50-55 bracket has you face 8 out of 15 random opponents that were based off of the finalists of Nintendo Cup '97, down to their exact PP on moves and stat EXP. For this Japanese version of this game, Round 2's Nintendo Cup '98 has a more stripped back version of this. The first trainer is always the same, but then you face the remaining seven opponents in a random order. These opponents' teams just like in Stadium Zero, were the finalists' teams used in the actual Nintendo Cup '98.
First off welcome back jrose! I would literally love to see you do more pokemon stadium videos, i have been hoping to see one pop up and I just about freaked out when I saw this one pop at the top of my feed. I used to loveeeee these games as a kid, fun fact, I still to this day have not beaten the elite 4 and the champions in stadium 2. Maybe you can show us the way!
This was a nice video and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more Stadium content from you. I know you've mentioned it quite a bit on the channel, so seeing that side of Pokemon come to the channel would be cool.
I miss this game. I remember the trainer school lessons, specifically the one where the enemy spammed hyper beam and you had to figure out how to win (endure, protect, detect). It was what started me on my actual competitive journey, which I still try to do when I have time
To spice up Pokemon Stadium for me I did a random challenge (at the Gym Leader Castle) where I'd have to challenge a Gym and its leader using random Pokemon through RNG. That means whatever six Pokemon numbers came up I'd have to use, and I'd have to try to beat every Trainer and Gym Leader. If I won, that group would go into my Hall of Fame and get saved. If not, they were deleted and I'd start fresh with a new random batch. It sounds easy and simple but it really isn't since you have to pick only three out of that batch to battle and the other three the NPC picks is completely random, so you have no way of knowing if you have an ideal team or are about to get steamrolled. It was honestly a LOT of fun. You should try it!
This is a challenge I've actually done, though I'd hesitate to call it a challenge. Lv 20 starmie spanks pika cup, and Mewtwo destroys prime cup and gym leader castle. Because of them I found poke cup to be the hardest mode by far.
I think the goal is to do it all with one Pokémon. So presumably the pokemon in question, or at least a form of it, so it’s limited by pokemon that have a form allowed in the petit cup
Honestly, I LOVED this game back then, but my lack of gen 1 game boy game and also my lack of English knowledge back then ended up making it a bit rough for me to understand if I truly was winning or stuck to lose. The Hall of Fame music from Stadium is so giddy it still feels great to listen to it after defeating the Master rounds of poke/prime cup or the petit/pika cups especially since whoever voiced the commentator gives the most heartfelt congratulations before giving the Earth Badge, leading to Hall of Fame
I'd LOVE to see more Pokemon Stadium videos! I've always been too chicken to actually play Pokemon Stadium all the way through (plus never had an N64, therefore I was stuck emulating and getting the rentals), but I'd love to see it in action!
Pokemon stadium 1 & 2 are the only gap in my childhood pokemon experience because I didn't know they existed until well into the Wii's lifecycle. Would love to see more of this game!
Dude I’ve been wondering about you doing Stadium solo runs! Dude the amount of RNG nonsense you just signed up for is amazing!! I swear that NPC cheats
"Can you beat Pokemon Stadium with just one Pokemon?" By the definition of "winning one cup", then yes. Surprisingly easily. I remember unintentionally sweeping a cup or two with the rental Machine as a kid.
Holy shit, a Pokemon Stadium video! Let's fucking go!!! I had both Pokemon Stadiums on N64, this video is my childhood :) If you can, you could show everyone the OG method getting a Surfing Pikachu, biggest achivement of my young gaming life
"as this is a game from the 90s there is no procedural generation or anything like that." release date of Rogue, the game the roguelike genre gets its name from, known for its use of procedural generation: 1980
How funny that the final attempt on Pika Cup with that Abra with pretty much Psychic only, and that final battle man o man, the AI really did went bogus with the change and getting RNG screwed for a change... not once, but TWICE... oh yeah, also the AI blew itself in Petit Cup twice. XD
I saw the playthrough of MDB back in the day. And i guarantee its not a joke! But for sure i love the personality that the mons get in Pokemon stadium! It was ahead of its time imo! The sprites are so good Animation that they get is like a cherry on the ice! I love your solo runs in R/B/Y, but do this too please!
love to see pokemon stadium runs^^ last year i started to use your aolo run challenges as a reference to build my own pokemon stadium teams so thanks for all the work😁👍
Seeing the naming conventions of the opposing Pokémon in English is really weird. In the German version, they shuffle part of the name around. So, for example (and I unfortunately don't remember these 100%), Kleinstein (Geodude) is Steinklein. Edit: oh, looks like at least one fight in the petit cup does the same, at the very least!
i had this game and thought it was going to be amazing to put my pokemon from my gameboy into my n64, but i was too young and stupid to actually get into this game too well. the level cap for the battles made it tough to bring in thefavorite pokemon you've caught with them being all different levels, and with me being like 10 or 11 years old i wasnt taking the time to catch and level certain pokemon specifically for battles. it was cool but i was never good enough to have fun with it

Oh heck yes! I’ve been waiting for JRose11 to cover this game! Honestly I wish the coliseum series would return
As someone who likes Japanese fashion Zen Market is a god send. Now all I have to do is save lol.
Pokemon Stadium videos seem like they would be faster to make instead of all the grind of a red/blue run. Don’t be afraid to make them if you are feeling burnt out. We will still enjoy them
Heck yeah! Pokemon content is good content!

At least with Stadium it’s just battles and nothing else.
Given that he only does a single run, the solo runs are likely significantly shorter than doing more Stadium.
Oh thanks God you are all right, since the last post about the concussion and the absence of videos I got really worried. Best notification I could ever wanted!
And by the way, I love pokemon stadium, videos will be very welcome
You never had a concussion??
@@notacat7127 Jrose had one, and stopped the month of Jrose because of it.
@@waterierStone I know but that doesn’t answer the original question I had asked the dude. Thank you for letting me of something I knew though
@@notacat7127 That was rude.
@@toumabyakuya how??? I simply asked if he ever had a concussion. Man made that comment like he was about to have open heart surgery
It's wonderful to see a JRose thumbnail in my feed, hope you're feeling better!
Hope you're feeling better! Great to have you back.

Bae wake up Jrose is torturing himself again
Our guy recovered from the concussion and went straight into the kitchen. Good to have you back.
Bring on the Stadium Solo attempts! I honestly would never have thought of this, even with transfers since the later Cups and Gym Leader Castle can get rough even in Round 1.
so glad to see you're ok! This was a fun vid, would be nice to see more of stadium since I never played it myself
I would love more Pokemon Stadium content! I played the hell out of these games when I was a kid. Seeing content on them is a dose of nostalgia lol
I love both the animations and the strategic (or to be honest, gimmicky) battles in Stadium. Way ahead of its time in comparison to the mainlines
The og goat ❤ hope your feeling better after the concussion. Thank you for the video
Dude! Glad you are ok! Last we heard you said you were not feeling too good. Got worried bout you for a moment there. :)
Good to have you back.
YESS so happy to see you do a Stadium run. Wish there was more attention to Stadium and Stadium 2 in the challenge community!
Clefable: nukes with Hyper Beam
Abra: "And I took that personally"
Surprised you didn’t use the Gen 2 technique. To teach Abra the elemental punches. Happy to see you covering and doing well. I remember when I got a concussion man. Welcome back.
He addressed that, actually.
That would be illegal because Abra doesn't learn elemental punches in Gen 1.
@@insectdueltime capsule
@@insectduelNot illegal, as stadium would accept the moveset. Besides, stadium cheats against the player anyway.
@@renatoramos8834At least this way, it would be a good way to cheat against the ai since they do it to you
Oh heck yeh. Been waiting on this one since I've popped in and saw you running it on stream
"Honey wake up! It's February 1st and a new JRose just dropped!"

I miss this game. I remember the trainer school lessons, specifically the one where the enemy spammed hyper beam and you had to figure out how to win (endure, protect, detect). It was what started me on my actual competitive journey, which I still try to do when I have time
The Return of the King
You’re truly patient to do these challenges I remember how hard this game is lol a challenge run on this game has my vote!
Jrose doing the cup where you can legally use a lvl 20 Alakazam with an lvl 20 Abra instead really shows his commitment to the bit

The "fainted" animations are really cool!
I never really looked into stadium, but I'll watch anything Jrose does. From what I've heard, this should be brutal!
Oh my god! Yesterday i was just thinking "it would be cool if Jrose tried his challenges with Pokemon Stadium" AND IT HAPPENED LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!

finally. I was running out of oxigen man
Pokemon Stadium is 'just a series of battles'? This man has no respect for the GOATed minigames, smh
Yes please make more Pokémon Stadium runs!
I was worried about you! I was so happy when I saw this video pop up to know you're doing ok!
Thank you for the fun video. Would love to see more content like this.
