That generation F-150 is THE best looking F-150 in my opinion. Looking at a 2018 2.7. Always wanted a truck, this looks like the perfect one. Thanks for the video!

Mine came with the key pad to unlock the doors on the driverside pillar. It was a mistake from the factory. 2.7 is an incredible engine. In my opinion it doesn't get the recognition it deserves unless you've driven one.I had one in 2015 was an excellent engine. My current F150 is a 3.5 because I couldnt get the options I wanted with the 2.7. I do love 3.5 though!! My next one will be 2.7 if I can ,mostly because of its fuel efficiency. Great engine more than enough for most of us
I in a couple years the 2.7 will need to be replaced weather I like it or not. It'll have close to 200K. From people I know the build quality from Ford sadly isn't the same. Take care. Thanks for watching.
I'm looking at a 2020 f150 xl sport with the 2.7 with the 10 speed with 136k 1 owner appears to be in great condition and serviced good for 20k with 2 year warranty. Any comments on this purchase?
If it's been serviced I would say you have a good chance of having a reliable truck. I'd take it for a good test ride and maybe pick up a cheap scan tool.
I bought a 2016 F150 2.7 new and now it has 105k miles. I have not had any problem with intake valves. The only problem I had with the engine was a $20 temp went bad @ 69k miles. My front rotors went bad @ 2,000 miles because the pads were defective. I had to replace a right front caliper @ 68k miles. Ford went to port injection to help emission. This give the fuel more time to mix with air.
My coolant temp sensor/ 2wire plug in loose combined, at 124 K miles. My f-150 is a 2016, oil pan was upgraded to newer type and gasket by Ford. Runs great though
Anyone experiencing transmission issues? Just bought a 21 2.7 stx. Great truck so far 27k miles on the od. But heard these 10r80s has had some issues!?
I have 144,000 on mine now. I get the transmission serviced per the owners manual. I have seen the reports on issues which makes the servicing all that much more important. Since you just bought it probably wouldn't hurt to get it serviced. A regular transmission service is cheap compared to replacement or repair.
I have a 2017, it ha been a great daily driver. 80k miles and still going like new. Great power and throttle response. Greta gas mileage. Just before this truck I had 2007 F150 and it wasn’t a great rig. I was hinting of jumping brands after owning ford trucks since the 90s. But I gave it one more chance, and I am glad I did. Ours has the 6 speed transmission and it is solid. Great motor, very impressed with its capability and quality.
Thanks Glen for watching. I switched to Ford after a horrible experience with Chevy. My family was a 3 generation GM only. I have 143K on it now. Still going strong.
Have a ext. Cab STX 21 2.7EB 4 by 4. Glad that you’re getting good life out of it. Did you change the drive line fluids? Only 45k Km on mine. BTW.. the auto dimming feature is great
@otmuppet I didn't change the fluid myself. I had the dealership do it. From what I understand they have to do a "relearn" on the TB10 transmissions after service. My VW Alltrack was like that which eneded in towing it to VW.
My 2018 STX 2.7L Super Crew 4x4 has just under 95,000 miles on it. Its towed, gotten me into and out of my deer hunting spot, and been a daily driver. I got it used in January of 2021 with 52,000 miles on it. Its been a trooper. I have to have the Oxygen sensors replaced this week, but other than that, its been a great truck. I'm looking to get least another 150,00 miles out of it.
I had a 2013 F150 with 3.7 V6, I didn’t want anything to do with ecoboost as they had bad reputation at the time. I still avoid turbo engines though I guess they are hard to avoid these days. It was a good truck and sometimes wish I never sold it. Just wish it wasn’t so big. Would like to get a maverick but those are always sold out.
I'm used to turbos since my 3/4 tons are deisels. The tech has come a long way. An extended warranty helps too. New truck in general are crazy money and tbe lower line models that I buy are harder to come by. The dealerships have gone full mugger mode.

I have a 2019 F150 Crew Cab 2.7 4x4, currently have 65k miles on it. I’ve had absolutely no issues. I live in South Jersey and my 2002 F150 and 2001 Expedition both have a lot of rust underneath, so in 2020 I started using fluid film on the undercoat. So far I have absolutely no rust, and they salt these roads pretty heavily in the winter. It’s about $320 a year, but so far seems worth it. I average 20.4mpg on “Normal” driving and I’ve gotten up to 25.9 on the highway doing 75mph and below. My only gripe is that cheap splash shield, I refuse to buy a new one, I just have zip ties holding it up on my $45k vehicle 🙄. I love the remote start, I really like being able to use the app to start it, schedule starts, etc. it rides as smooth as any car I’ve ever had, it’s my favorite car I’ve ever had to be honest. I still love the 2002 F150 body style, how that drove, it has 235,600 miles and still going strong, my oldest son drives it every day. I’m about to pay off this one in June, so hopefully I can get as many miles as I have on the 2002 F150 and 2001 Expedition (still have that also, I drive it several times a week just because). Anyway, thanks for the review. I was really leery about this 2.7 back in 2019, but I got the local dealer 8 years 100,000 mile warranty, which I haven’t had to use, but it gave me the piece of mind to go ahead and get it. So far I absolutely love this thing.
Thanks for watching and the comment. I have 132,000 now still going strong. I have heard about the spray treatment for winter. Sounds like a great idea. I have a metel splash guard from Amazon it also keeps the catelytic convert safe from thrives.
(As others have said below)The 2018-2020 looks BAD ASS. Especially the 20" STX Wheels. Ford changed over 300 body components so nobody could grab simple parts from the junkyard, absolutely disgusting. I bought my 2018 STX 2.7L brand new in 2018, and this February in 2024, with only 29,000 miles, it was totaled due to water leakage through the windshield. Now in 2024 thanks to Bidenomics i have to pay almost $15,000 more for the same exact truck. Breaks my heart. That truck had a sport tune put on at 7500 miles (after my first oil change). Pushed an extra 7 pounds of boost (23-24 versus the factory 17 psi, netted an extra 50 HP and over 60 ft lbs of torque) and i pushed it hard. Never had a single problem other than a fluke oil pressure sensor failing at 14k miles. No leaks, never let me down in emergencies. TurboSmart Blow off valve, S&B intake, Catch can, Pedal Commander, all installed in the first 10,000 miles. Let us all say a prayer for my beloved.😢. Such is life, i just hope they didn't change too much with the 2024 models to mess up the reliability the 2018s had. But of course all manufactures do, as it's bad for business to make something too reliable. Side note : ALL 2015-2020 model owners, if you ever change your windshield, be sure to check for CRACKS that form in the frame, on the top right and left of the windshield right above the A Pillars. Stress fractures can happen at anytime or could already be there, make sure to check and tell the windshield guy to dump a ton of silicone/sealant into said areas/cracks even if they aren't showing yet. Also underneath the front cowl, below where the wiper blades sit, another fracture point is right above the firewall on that shelf. (Wet passenger side carpet) Granted i didn't have either of these and the water came in through a poor sealing job at the top directly in the middle (Tech was too lazy to lean over a few more inches clearly). After doing much research before i found the actual cause of leak, thought I'd share. This will flood your BCM and ruin your truck. Anyway hope your still enjoying your truck and its still going strong!
I got caught in a bad down poor this summer with my 2019 F150, a few days later I was cleaning out my truck and had to pull the floor mats. The carpet was wet, now I’m a bit concerned. I do however have a warranty.
I liked the smoothness torque and economy of my 2017 STX, I bought a 23 STX, this time super cab, front bench, rubber floor 6.5 bed FX4 with 3:73 rear and in econ mode I’m getting around 21.5 mpg in town and bumping 24 on the highway.

You have the 3.5 engine though....correct? Haven't heard of cam phaser issues in the 2.7 ....and mainly was an issue in 2017-2020 3.5's only... years before and after those are suppose to be very reliable for the most part...
