It has been years since we have uploaded a video on the infamous Tortoise. The tank has its good moments but they are sure slow to develop. I hope you enjoy this video and thank you so much to Zuit and Stickboy24 for joining me on these adventures.

What is your favorite vehicles in game that are no longer viable due to power creep or battle rating changes over the years? For me I used to adore playing the KV-2 and it is just not the same these days.
The 75 Jumbo… I know it used to be an absolute god but due to the Tigers being uptiered it only finds 6.7 games… Poor Jumbo 🙁

Im glad im not the only one thats had it happen ive lost my 292 several times to that crap and the worst part is it was that same map in the same exact area just a closer to the dam bridge and no wall or anything else in the way

Welcome to an episode of "Bo's CASventure"
Britain was absolutely known for good tank engines. The engine in the A39 Tortoise was the Rolls-Royce Meteor mated to a Merrit-Brown transmission, both of which were excellent. The Meteor was effectively an unsupercharged Merlin.
They stuck the engine in a Crusader to test it, and it propelled the tank so fast they didn't get a speed reading because all the officers were too shocked to take an accurate reading!
Not "effectively".. It *is* an un-supercharged Merlin (derived from the Merlin III), with reversed crank rotation, cast instead of forged pistons and tuned to run on less than the high octane "avgas" fuel needed for aircraft.
They got up to 600 HP out of it initially, the original aero Merlin with supercharger achieved around 750hp, and the Merlin III the Meteor was spawned from made around 1130HP... so it was a decent effort for a lot less complexity, and lower quality fuel.
It was a good idea, as there were masses of usable spares, knowledge, tooling and manufacturing ability available.
When the supercharger, reduction gears and other items that were only needed for aircraft were removed, it became a reasonably light and compact power plant for it's output. Far better than the Leyland Diesel (only 350 HP) and earlier "liberty" V12 engine that was meant to be fitted to the Cromwells', or the Ford 400-500 HP V8 that ended up in later Shermans and Pershings and at the time of it's introduction (just prior to Normandy Landings) was having quite a few "teething" problems.

To join the Dark Side pain leads to suffering and it seems after watching that montage you guys were well on your way to becoming apart of the Dark Side and apparently Bo is able to use the Force after watching that shell virtually pause in mid-air! Very impressive! Almost as impressive as this video!

Tortoise is a coin flip each game. Sometimes it seems absolutely invincible and no one can kill you.
Other times it seems like a Locust can run you for your foams.
The theme of this video can easily be summed up as, "Speak of the bomb, and the bomb it shall appear."

That montage at the beginning is Ground RB in a nutshell. SP for planes need to be tripled and/or payload SPs increased

This reminds me of playing any heavy British tank. You have to hope your team doesn't stomp the other guys and the planes don't notice you if you want to accomplish anything.

Watching Bo trying to drive the Tortoise by just brute forcing it and then panicing will never not be funny.
Also, the thing has so much horizontal traverse you can absolutely angle it, which makes its armour more effective. Especially in combination with its good gun-depression.

While definitely infuriating, the CAS nightmare is unironically the biggest problem with the concept of a Super-Heavy tank.

Rolls royce meteor was pretty decent actually (for a ww2 era tank engine)
Brits had problems with very low power and bulky and unreliable engines in the early part of the war, some of those monstrosities used bus engines stitched together...
Then they got the idea of using a cut down detuned rolls royce merlin engine to make that, and they already understood that engine pretty well, it had power etc... so it makes sense they standardized on it for a while. You would probably had wanted to run 2 of them for a tortoise tho...
Then they got back to leyland stuff and it was a disaster once again.
Yea they probably should have done something a bit more sofisticated on atleast post war things like the conquerer and centurion.

I literally only just realized that Sweet Tea in the Us is a direct slap in the face to the British from the tea party days. We literally dumped a bunch of their tea, stopped being taxed by them for sugar, then we made a drink that is ruined tea overloaded with tax free sugar lmfao.

You have my condolences
This just seems like the mighty t95, without the ability to survive bombs to the front for some reason (honestly have no clue the exact armor thickness of the tortoise to the t95, just that it's worse), no machine gun evelvation to fight off planes, no character unlike the t95, hatch is bigger and shaped in a way that makes it much less likely to ricochet anything, and i know war thunder is different but. The tortoise's ammo rack feels so much weaker in world of tanks compared to the t95

You know normally Cas is ridiculous as is Due to the ridiculously low requirements to get a good bomber. But it's ridiculous how much more you get it in such a slow vehicle

I wasn't expecting to be in a Bo vid again. That testing ground map was horrible for my team, but I at least got a kill with the Obj. 268
At a point in time where things just needed to happen the mass production of the same engine and ultimately being used in almost every vehicle isn't that much of a surprise. It was probably a good engine just couldn't hold the power required for the levels of amour and weight it was trying to move.
