      Nope, add him to the list of snubbed artists.

      @@MusicMentionsReal he's better than Taylor Swift, MGK, Eminem, those people are Garbage, pretty sad the rock and roll hall of fame recognized there future instead of there past... The reason why kids have no appreciation for music is because we jumped the history and went straight into the future... My dad left the first comment... As a 21 year old I believe there is more recognition needed for the past artist.... Today's music isn't anything like the 50s-90s and the Hall of Fame should focus on them not my generation

      @@k9burnouts544 Thanks for the comments! I agree about jumping history. Unfortunately artists like Edmunds get slowly buried in the dust of time and artist that really have no business being in the RnR Hall get in instead. I'm really happy to hear that you appreciate the music from the past! Gives me hope for the future 🙂

    My list of 54 acts not in the RARHOF could go down by three: Ambrosia, America, The B-52’s, Bad Company, Badfinger, Bjork, Blood Sweat & Tears, Blue Oyster Cult, Boston, Bread, The Charlatans UK, Devo, Dick Dale, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Brian Eno, Foreigner (nominated), Free, Grand Funk Railroad, The Grass Roots, The Guess Who, Humble Pie, Ian Hunter, INXS, Tommy James & The Shondells, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Kool & The Gang (nominated), Love, Don McLean, Mott The Hoople, Harry Nilsson, Oasis (nominated), The Ohio Players, Peter Paul & Mary, Procol Harum, Paul Rodgers, Simple Minds, Sparks, Steppenwolf, Supertramp, Sweet, 10cc, Tears For Fears, Television, Thin Lizzy, Three Dog Night, Tower Of Power, Vangelis, War, Edgar Winter, X, Weird Al Yankovic, and Warren Zevon. Will any of the other 51 even get nominated, let alone inducted?

      Great list of snubs! I think you and I are about on the same page. The Hall simply doesn't have credibility with the fans (AND lots of critics) with so may influential and impactful artists that have been shoved aside for artists that aren't even within the rock genre. It's a real travesty. Thanks for sharing!

    I don't see why Dave Matthews Band shouldn't be inducted after over 20 years of selling out stadiums and being pretty non-commercial in their musical approach as opposed to most on the list. Baffles me how Ozzy isn't already in!

    • @MusicMentionsReal
      @MusicMentionsReal  11 месяцев назад

      There could be an argument for DMB being in the Hall. I wouldn't cry if they got in but I also think there are more deserving artists from the nominations this year.

    Definitely gotta go with Oasis and Ozzy Osbourne. But they probably won’t, they’ll go for Mariah Carey. Hey she’s a great vocalist but that’s all
    Might as well have gone for Jim Carrey instead eh haha

    • @MusicMentionsReal
      @MusicMentionsReal  9 месяцев назад

      Ted, you're absolutely right, they won't let Oasis in. This Hall is American based and Americans have never really understood Oasis. Ozzy might have a shot though since he had a successful TV show in the US. Seems a successful TV series does more for your popularity than anything else in America. Mariah Carey is likely to get in.

    Your list (of what you've shown us) sadly contains only one partial Candian band. As of 2024, only one fully Canadian band has entered this Hall. I need not say their name. Yes, I'm sore about this! BTO, Guess Who, Trooper, Brian Adams, etc....What gives?

    • @MusicMentionsReal
      @MusicMentionsReal  11 месяцев назад

      Hey, Free! Yeah, not many Canadian bands unfortunately. In addition to the Guess Who, I would say BTO, Tragically Hip, and (maybe?) April Wine have an argument to be in the Hall.

    can you explain why you think Mariah Carey is so awful? i genuinely don’t understand your hatred towards her. She writes and produces all her music since day one, has one of the most recognizable voices, has most hits than any other solo artist

      Not "Rock-n-Roll" in my opinion, by a long shot. Soul? Pop? Not rock. Not my bag either. Can't stand her really. Talented? Of course. The fact that she, and others are lumped into this hall says it's all about money and popularity, not to the celebration of "ROCK-n-ROLL".

      @@MusicMentionsRealyou keep saying she is awful in the video, why? If an artist music and vocal style doesn’t really connect with you does that mean they’re awful? She is one of the most successful and prolific singer, songwriter, and record producer.

      @@airbanks5754 Sorry, but represents a lot of what is awful about a lot of popular music. I'm sure she's a wonderful person and gives generously to the needy during the holidays, but I don't like her music and I don't like her singing. It's my honest take and your mileage may vary.

    In reality the Rock N Roll Of Fame should be renamed The Northern Hemisphere Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame because the only inductees the originally was created formed in southern hemisphere are The Bee Gees and AC/DC both have Australian heritage in their formations .
    Because the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame is so slow giving any credit to any Australian artists Aria Awards Australian Recording Industry Association Awards have their own Hall Of Fame awards .
    So what about?
    * The Easybeats ; there wouldn’t be AC/DC with Malcolm and Angus Young older brother George Young’s band The Easybeats. Friday On My Mind is a 60’s classic.
    * Olivia Newton John .; No ONJ she is apart and the main reason why Grease the movie and soundtrack was so successful.
    * John Farnham ; although as solo artist John Farnham isn’t popular in the USA , but John Farnham is one of only artists that has a number 1 single or album in every decade since the 60’s .
    John Farnham is the singers singer and at legendary status within Australia outselling his international contemporaries within Australia own market .
    John Farnham’s international hit You’re The Voice 1986 has had a major resurgence on RUclips .
    * Little River Band ; hugely successful in the USA in the late 70’s early 80s . LRB is the first Australian based band to crack American market . Even with many line up changes the line up from 1975 to 1995 needs the international credit they deserve .
    * The Angles ; Aussie hard rockers ( Australian pub rock ) was always in AC/DC shadow but highly influential in influence many other hard rock bands like Guns N Roses and Mötley Crüe .
    * Cold Chisel ; Cold Chisel didn’t break out of success outside of Australia by what they just achieved in Australia should not be ignored . Their first single Khe Sanh 1978 was the blueprint for Bruce Springsteen writing Born In The USA . Lead singer Jimmy Barnes launched successful solo career with 20 albums hitting number 1 in Australia smashing worldwide records held by the Beatles Madonna and Taylor Swift .
    * The Saints ;
    Music fans think 70’s punk movement start with bands like The Sex Pistols and The Ramones but just year before The Saints from Brisbane had that punk sound without any International influence . The Saints played their music fast because their gigs concerts was normally shut down by the Brisbane police in the late 70’s .
    I’m Stranded is actually the very first punk song from the 70’s punk movement. The saints
    * Midnight Oil ; A massive band throughout the 80s and 90s highly influential band influencing international heavyweights like U2 and REM .
    * INXS in the late 80s and early 90s INXS was the biggest band in world their concert at Wembley Stadium was legendary as equal with Queen’s concert there at that stadium as one the best .
    * Men At Work ; massive in the early 80’s
    * The Church ; alternative rockers highly influential on world stage also big influence on U2 , The Smiths and REM .
    * Paul Kelly ; Paul Kelly is Australia’s Bob Dylan . If not recognised by the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame Paul Kelly should be recognised by the Songwriters Hall Of Fame .
    Nick Cave ; Nick Cave highly influential worldwide from Nick’s many musical productions including experimental punk band The Birthday Party , the ever evolving Nick Cave & The Band Seeds and side project The Grinderman . Nick Cave like Paul Kelly is one Australia’s best respected songwriters .
    * Kylie Minogue ; Kylie’s career started in the late 80’s and has continued to develop . I Can’t Get You Out Of My Head is phenomenal hit making number in 40 countries . If Madonna is a Rock N Roll Hall Of Famer so should be Kylie .
    * Splits Enz ; originally from New Zealand but Australian based highly influential , Pearl Jam has covered Split Enz a number of times . Split Enz evolved into hits maker’s Crowded House .

      Hey Mark! Thank you for reminding everyone about the great bands that have comes out of Australia. I 100% agree with you. The Hall of Fame is completely biased to American artists. The US is terribly arrogant in most things and music is no different. The acknowledgement of great Aussie artists is nothing I'd expect from this phony institution any time soon.

    I have absolutely zero respect for the Hall of Shame.
    The Grannies and Rolling Stoned are just as bad.
    It’s a shame, it started off with good intentions.
    But as they say the road to hell is paved with
    good intentions.
    What are rap artists doing in the Hall of Shame?
    What would they say if there was a hip hop hall
    of fame and the Beatles were inducted?
    It’s ridiculous.

      than likely I wouldn’t even bother

      @@ilabelle1 The issue is that from an artist's perspective they still want the awards since it's something they can leverage for marketing. In other words, it's means more money for them (even though it's artistically worthless).

    You are right and what I have been saying all along, the way I see it it is now the popular music all of fame. Rock and Roll have been misclassified since it began. I mean they call 1950s Doo - Wop rock and roll along with teen pop music of that time. We all know that Chuck Berry, Little Richards, Buddy Holly, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis are the true early rockers. That list goes on. I wish some billionaires get together and create a true Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Are you listening Elon and Bezos, this may be sometime fun to spend some of your billions on. ha ha
