A very gutsy and honest assessment. Most of our idols don't live in the same world that we do. I'm not saying their work or accomplishments are somehow "better" than what the rest of us achieve. I'm just saying that it's wrong for us to judge their career decisions. They are human beings just like us, and they have their reasons. It's best to just leave it at that.

Back in 2004 my band at the time was booked to play some dive bar, it was billed as a Metal night and 5 bands were playing as well as us. Not only was it poorly promoted (only bands and girlfriends of bands were there) but they booked my band on some kids night bill and we were all old enough to be the other bands dad's. Not a problem, the problem was the promotor decided we were headlining the bill when we were booked to middle so those who work could get home earlier. None of the other bands were over 16 so none of them had jobs to wake up for was our reasoning for why we should keep the middle slot, but they disagreed and told us we should be happy to headline as it will be good exposure (to no audience) for us... so we asked for a free pitcher of beer to enjoy whilst waiting for our time slot, they refused. To recap, changed our set time to 2 hours or more later, it was a Sunday night so it was empty except girlfriends/parents, the promotor didn't promote at all and acted as though they're the biggest promotor in the country and we should feel fortunate to be included. Topping all of that, we didn't even get free drinks so we decided to leave. That meant we didn't even get the $20 for the gig they probably would have stiffed us for anyway. The promotor for the gig threatened us with ruining our reputation and we'd never book another gig in the entire state. That threat never followed up.

In retrospect, it was an all ages show at a bar, so they probably had some legal reason for not allowing us beer. But further in retrospect, they were still assholes and treated us with horrible disrespect.

Integrity over being mistreated any day of the year, good for you and your band. Some people in the concert industry don't deserve the positions they have.

Real musicians respect the art and the music they have created. They know when to leave their legacy alone. Eddie's description of the state of heritage rock music is relatively accurate. We all see and contribute to (buying concert tickets and alleged collectibles) of the remaining classic rock bands of our youth. Yet, these groups have few or no original members, it's more as if we are trying to satisfy our own inner nostalgia for what we once held dear in our lives as meaningful to ourselves alone. That's it, now is a time to support the younger rock bands with their great music which is just as good and relevant as the stuff we all remember.

I don't know why the hell Judas Priest are still being booked in large major arenas. Judas Priest draws about 3000 people are less, and there more empty seats than people, despite the arena being at reduced capacity.

It’s why I respect Richie Blackmore. He’s off doing what “HE” wants. If your down with his stuff then follow him now. He’s done with Rainbow/Deep Purple stuff. So good luck Richie, thanks for the good memories.

B.C Kochmit of Nonpoint left because of family. He said that he was tired of face time with his daughter and did not want to watch her grow up through a phone any longer.

I don't why anyone would want to be playing clubs past the age of 24 or 25, let alone 50.

It's sad and sick to see those with generational wealth, who's lost their talent, still fooling the public by going through the motions for cash.

I've learned Pete says a lot of odd things, he seems to speak very impulsively, changing up his responses with contrasting follow-up remarks and it does feel at times like he's "playing with people, like he's trying to create a buzz! You watch him on stage, nowadays, and it's still 100 percent passion, he's completely engaged! Pete's a trip!

Eddie, as I have recently discovered after so many years, is a "me-me-me" guy who whines a LOT.
Many people interpret his whining as being brutally honest. The more I listen, the more I notice.how he somehow will refer to himself throughout his rants. Once you notice it, it becomes laughable.
