    Into the Void is Tony’s finest moment and one of the greatest riffs ever written. To me, this is the heavy metal standard. Master of Reality was metal’s finest moment of the 1970’s. By 1972, Sabbath had created the blueprint for which all heavy metal since has tried to imitate. Long Live Sabbath 🤘🏻

    Saw Sabbath a couple of years ago on their farewell tour and I’ll tell ya, when they played Into The Void, through modern amps and PA mind you, it was the most crushing, heavy thing I had ever experienced. I’ve been to more than 100 metal shows but nothing comes close to that intro riff…it was power, it was doom, it was sludge, it was groove, it was metal, it was the truth.

    The reason this song sounds so dark and "devilish" is partly due to the contrast generated by the clean and sharp voice of Ozzy compared to the heavy, dirty and thick backing sound. This album was the peak of heavy sound in its era, nobody sounded heavier than Sabbath in this year.

      I could honestly see one or both of them not liking it as much, with as slow and plodding as the song starts. But it's absolutely a classic and MUST listen. 2 of the most classic riffs ever played.

    This is my all time favorite Sabbath song. And that is saying a lot! I got into hard rock very young.. like 7 or 8. I'm 53 now. And I remember the feeling my 1st time I heard this song. It was like "something wicked, this way comes" & I couldn't turn away! The darkness, the tone, the groove... all of it.. and yall's reaction just hit home to me... Thank you guys for doing these videos & being open minded to music that may be out of your normal realm. You guys are awesome!

    Children of the Grave with Ozzy

    Headless Cross with Tony Martin

      Definitely Headless Cross. It’s probably their most underrated song. It gets so little attention since it isn’t Ozzy or Dio singing.

    • @rob2297
      @rob2297 4 года назад

    I've just discovered you two guys but I love you already. Seeing your reactions. Imagine how it sounded to us, then, as 13/14-year-olds first hearing it in the early '70s when it was truly revolutionary.
