Also epoprostenol is a prostacyclin so causes vasodilatation and inhibition of platelet aggregation. It’s why it’s used in inhaled form for pulmonary hypertension and in renal replacement therapy as an anticoagulant when heparin is contraindicated

Good video, thank you. Only correction: dinoprostone/carboprost blocking prostaglandin E2 makes it sound like these drugs cause uterine relaxation.
Dinoprostone (propess) is prostaglandin E2 and Carpoprost (hemabate) is a synthetic prostaglandin - both bind to the prostaglandin E2 receptor causing uterine contraction.

I'm here from rabbit trailing around for what gives me occasional high prostaglandin? painful periods that make me vomit and have hot flashes. With general aches and inflammation.
1. Ibuprofen inhibits excess prostaglandins from doing me in.
2. Prostaglandins are from arachidonic acid.
Shown here.
3. It's an inflammatory omega 6 found in lots of foods.
4. Certain prepackaged foods give me horrible periods.
5. Comparing arachidonic acid content in foods seems to confirm how I do better on a homemade beef diet than a high chicken, prepackaged, fast food one. Sodium probably has something to do with that too. 🤔 Interesting stuff.
