The most apt comparison for this game is (outside of MH) objectively Death Stranding. This is why it's a shame a big chunk of people didn't give that title due diligence. Because I have seen many many reviewers acting as though the building and traversal of Wild Hearts is somehow novel and giving the game bonus point because of that. Meanwhile Death Stranding was this multiplied by orders of magnitude then stretched out across an entire open world. I have a literal zipline highway from one end of the map to the other, basically, in Death Stranding. This is why modern day discourse sucks and is detrimental to art and entertainment. Hyperbole eats everything whole and doesn't allow people to experience and internalize what one thing does that then gives a game like Wild Hearts the confidence to use that mechanic in their game. 1000% Death Stranding had an influence on this game, and that's what creating is all about.
I guess you're not worried anymore about how this was going to turn out, I may be mistaken but I remember you commenting on the game and having some trepidation. But this looks fantastic. Man there is just too much going on lately but it's a good thing.
The statement on no microtransactions. While this all sounds good, it's important to still have skepticism on the monetization. A studio can and has said "no microtransactions", only to add it in anyway. And besides, it's EA, and I personally haven't bought an EA published game in years. That being said, the only thing that may put others at ease is its part of the EA Originals program, and the reason I'm even keeping up to date with this game, as I otherwise wouldn't have bothered giving this title a second glance. Studios and games under the Originals program tend to have complete freedom with development and zero interference from EA. Since that is the track record so far, that's honestly the only saving grace for an EA published game. But I also know better, and wait for the day EA decides to disregard that rule in the future. But for now, I think I can say that it's ok for people to be excited for this game. And if mtx does get added, it'll actually be on the devs and not EA (surprisingly). Not to mention it would piss off players and this studio will lose any good will they garnered from their "mtx free" claim. If anything, the pricetag of $70 is what's an instant no for me. I'll miss out at first, but I'd rather wait for a sale when the price drops significantly. And also to ensure no mtx gets added in later. I'm a very cautious gamer lol. With that out of the way, the last video I watched on another channel looked bad, graphically. Idk if it was a potato pc or what lol. This looks much better. I know the game can look gorgeous on the Series X, so long as the devs don't cheap out. I worry about hit boxes. They looked better here, but I can't help but wander how they will end up in the complete product. Hit boxes are important in any game, yes. But it's especially true for monster hunting games. Getting hit when you shouldn't and getting carted is cheap and makes people not want to bother. Hope the devs get it right. It is good that Capcom has competition. I like the innovative wire bug in Rise, and enjoy the switch/silkbind skills, overall better combat, but Capcom got lazy with the title at the same time. The maps alone really took a big hit. And the cosmetic dlcs being egregious when they should've been free in the game. Competition will be good for them. Hopefully it'll straighten them up.
To be fair they were planning to keep the Rise Maps old mh Style but changed Them because of the success of world . Which is why i think that they mainly focused on Monster variety (Side information : Rise and world a Programmed in a way that makes it easy to Port Monsters from one Game to the other , and its very likley that they used the Same build for mh 6 which would save them a Lot of time given that world and Ride are pretty stacked in Terms of Monsters )
Ok so jumping off the wooden tower lets you do insane amounts of damage so why would i bother doing anything else? Whats the limiting factor with these things? I'm extremely skeptical right now.
Will the armor sets diverge from samurai and ronin attire at some point? So far from what I've seen in Rurikhan's and your videos they all seem to be slightly different samurai armors or ronin attire which feels very monotonous. I haven't seen a single armor set that I would enjoy wearing yet. Also, are female armor sets different from the male ones or are they trying to keep it simple with the same design for all characters?
EA did not make the game the just published it. Koei Tecmo made the game so it looks like they took Toukiden and ran free with it this time. And as an fan of Toukiden that is awesome to me.
I wanna know how the gameplay feels I had a real issue with the unresponsive feel of monster hunter world's combat. Is this much better? From a scale of monster hunter world to Nioh 2 in terms of pace and responsiveness of the gameplay what is it closer to?
More like nioh 2, especially with some weapons like the umbrella. You can cancel attacks into parries and dodges, and they come out instantly. Of course the slower weapons get animation locked, and some attacks on the faster weapons, but hey the maul and staff have something like ki pulses if your brain is wired to mash r2 after every attack lol
I’d say halfway between MH:W and Nioh. You might find some weapons too clumsy. You’ll love the claw blades and the other faster weapons, though, they are really nimble.
I am really hoping this game is good! I’ve been playing world and rise recently ! Would be so good to play a decent game with monster hunter feels to it 🤞🏻
Hard to say if it has real competition. People should be happy that there's another choice and the game is doing it's own thing. Capcom might not even see it as competition and will be doing their own thing like they have always done anyway. I mean MH6 comes out next year. By the time there's a second Wild Hearts game the G-rank for MH6 will release or another game within gen 6. Hard to compete with a juggernaut like that. And then there's some crazy people out there acting like this game will kill MH completely or dethrone it if it has it's own G-rank or powered up monsters (which it does based on the achievement list). Bizarre why some think that.
I don't think either will kill each other, but a competently made hunting game with post-launch support, cross play, and no MTX, is exactly what needs to enter this space to force Capcom to be competitive. I love Monster Hunter, but lack of competition brings forth complacency. My hope if that this forces Capcom to pursue cross play at the very least because their "no crossplay staggered release timing" approach is pretty exhausting tbh
I think what mainly stops them is that 70-80€ price Tag . That combined with WH beeing a new IP with a EA sign on it. Also doesnt Help that sunbreak (which is a total Beast when it Comes to the Monster Roster) will be released soon for PS and Xbox
@@FightinCowboy Yeah but MH6 is out next year and they're aware of cross-play and save. Rurikhan mentioned in a video he knows people at Capcom and they're very aware of it and I think the new Capcom ID will tie into that. MH already has post-launch support and has for years. The MTX stuff is an issue but it started with MHW/Iceborne. Unfortunately I don't see it being shut off and one of my fears is that it gets worse.

i really was looking forward to this but even the combat is meh there only like half the combos from monster hunter and there's no bloody block button ,the only way to beat the monsters is by constantly using traps to jump off and the monsters crush them so then you have to constantly rebuild and frankly its just no fun, the second monster i fought literally picked me up threw me against a wall and then while i was glitched in the terrain spewed fire at me while i tryed to glitch myself out .
@@robdonkey1335 no I like Monster Hunter and this game is okay at best to me
This game work whit mouse & keyboard? If so, how does it feel?
No clue but game looks great for me.
Specifically they said "no plans at this time" which can mean they will add them later.
Btw i try the trial
. Im curios about hunters arm skill.. What is that?
oh wow I like the weapon crafting idea
very good review bro
As a massive MH fun this looks so much fun.
Will the armor sets diverge from samurai and ronin attire at some point? So far from what I've seen in Rurikhan's and your videos they all seem to be slightly different samurai armors or ronin attire which feels very monotonous. I haven't seen a single armor set that I would enjoy wearing yet.
Also, are female armor sets different from the male ones or are they trying to keep it simple with the same design for all characters?
is there also HR/MR Level up like in monster hunter?
Big fan of Rise, and I'm so excited for this
EA did not make the game the just published it.
Looks great. Can’t wait. Have it pre ordered. Need something current gen only and new!
Not enough spears. Where is the spear
I am really hoping this game is good! I’ve been playing world and rise recently ! Would be so good to play a decent game with monster hunter feels to it 🤞🏻
Is there a story progression or is it just, hunting the next monster after hunting the next and no real story
It looks fire
What is that small thing falling you around???
Is there an FOV slider or the ability to zoom in and out with the camera?
... That maul is enormous
I’m so happy this is looking good
Think I may grab it thanks to you
Hard to say if it has real competition.
@@nuke2099 Played the trail of wild hearts and all I can say is that they nailed the combat and movement. Feels really nice to play and the building mechanic is unique. You can do combos of it after building a wall. Like the fact that now I have to great hunting games to play. I might enjoy wild hearts alone from the combat. I've played monster hunter for years, so the combat felt similar for a while. Glad I got something fresh to play now
Ah ! Wild Hearts and Wo Long are too close on early year schedule. We will have to make a choice 😉
Wo long day 1 gamepass
How is the combat? Is it exactly same as monster hunter? Cause I was not a big fan of that especially because one you start an attack animation, you couldn't change direction of attack. So I was whiffing most of the time.
Idk if it was just me but I swear as he was talking about his rig it dropped frames
No, zero drops
I'm so ready.
Is it open world? Or is the hub area disconnected by loading screens?
