CHOKKA & SARDINE BAIT DEMO

The Chokka & Sardine bait.
A great bait to get a lot of scent out very quickly, while still having the chokka left to slowly disperse its scent.
This is a very well-known bait for anglers targeting kob along our coastline, especially in murky, discoloured water. This bait can also be used to target other species such as Poensie (Black Musselcracker), red Steenbras (Coppers), Yellowtail, Yellowbelly Rockcod & Catface rockcod to name just a few of the edible species. Several smaller non-eds will eat this bait as well, such as Smooth Hound Sharks, Spotted Gully (Sweety). We have in the past caught Blue Rays, Eagle Rays and even Duckbills on this bait while targeting Kob here in False Bay.
My go to hook is the BKK Heavy Circle on a home made dangle, the size of the hook and dangle will be dependent on the size of the bait. Don't be shy of a big bait as all the species mentioned above will eat a bigger bait.
The hooks are available in a wide size range, ranging from size 6 all the way up to 10/O in the normal packaging and from size 1 to 10/O in the bulk packaging. I might be biased towards these hooks but they truly have been a game changer for me.
