Can one freeze this prepared bait before the time, hook and all, for later use, say the next day & just tie to main line etc when at the beach ? If not for pilchard, can it be done with fresh or salted squid, prepared as in some of your videos ?

3 questions relating to this video
1. Can this trace be used with a circle hook?
2. Can this bait be used for other species of fish as well? and what trace should be used with it as steel isn't necessary for most other species
3. At times when fishing for other species shad can be a nuisance. Is there any way to target other fish without shad finishing the bait?

1. I wouldnt use a circle hook for a shad
2. Yes, but only if there is a lot around, like a shoal
3. Switch to chokka bait or Octopus leg, slide big baits, they will still hit it but will take longer to get of so a chance of getting something else

You just rig the first half zig zag, pul it onto your trace line above the hook, then the next little section straight and let the rest hang under the hook - also see ruclips.net/video/MOK-BoAfjoU/видео.html
