I've been following you since June and I can tell you that your videos are appreciated. I enjoy them. It's not the quantity, but the quality. I tried Davinci Resolve a couple of times, the free version, I deleted it twice! How each of us do this RUclips is a very individual thing. I’ve been doing this even longer than you have, I have far fewer subscribers than you do, and lately I’ve been working a TON of hours. I believe at some point I’ll want to get more out of it, but until I have more time, the video quality, and the editing will most likely not change. I’m ok with the very slow growth right now because my goals are being met at this time. I get the regular viewers, and the regular commenters, and that makes me very happy every time I release a video. All that is to say, maybe not think about what you want to happen, but enjoy what is happening….. release the videos when you can, do the best you can, and let that be enough. I really enjoy hearing from you when you pop a video out, if there’s a lot of time in between, then that just tells me you’re living life! All of us who do this crazy thing called being RUclips creators have to find our own paths through our journey. What works for one night now work for another. I know it would take a lot for me to just hang up the motovlogging helmet and not ever put out anything else. But there are times when it does get frustrating. And I gotta be honest, even in those frustrating moments I’m still trying to figure out some new ideas for videos or looking at equipment that I could use. That winter depression is a real thing. Weather is getting cold and been a bit wet lately. It's hard when you focus on motovlogs. We all feel this way from time to time. I enjoy your content and try to catch as much as I can. Just tell your story and don't look back. :)

One reason I can't imagine doing this "full time". I created my channel in 2010 so I've been tinkering for awhile. Do what you can, when you can. Life it too short to be wrapped up in one thing.
While I wouldn’t mind doing this full time, I can only imagine it’s gotta be tough. You can’t just take weeks off cause you ain’t feeling it. I totally agree, life is too short, try to do what makes ya happy!!! Thanks for watching and stay safe!!

I can TOTALLY relate to this video. Sometimes life gets very much in the way of RUclips, and even riding. All I can say is that I enjoy your videos and I hope you keep churning them out. I love riding with you, and I hope we can do more of that when the weather warms up again.

FWIW, editing software doesn't have to cost you a penny - plenty of good free ones - I'm a huge proponent of the free version of Davinci Resolve, and can help you out getting started in it.

This hobby of ours can definitely get to be an expensive one. I do wonder sometimes if all that money spent is actually worth it, but there are lot more expensive hobbies out there!!! It is a hobby really for most of us. Life comes and goes with how busy it is. Make stuff when you feel you will enjoy making it, that's all that matters.

It gets slow at times but we just keep rolling them out.......and I used FCP and have gone to Davinchi Resolve and after some learning issues will be sticking with it.........................................JB..

I'm going to be getting a different laptop so I can do some videos on the road ..IF I want to..I do some videos with my phone and I can do them, but it's not easy with the tiny screen lol. Now that Rusty sounds like a better one to know than the one I do😂😂😂. I used to do all my editing on my phone when I first started doing this. I will eventually figure out which direction I’m gonna be going with editing software. I’m not giving up my channel yet!!!! While it’s frustrating, I still enjoy doing it, when I can. I'm glad to hear things are well and you're just busy - busy isn't always a bad thing.
My RUclips motivation goes in waves. Sometimes I'm excited and ready to record and other times I can't be bothered to turn the cameras on and figure out what to say.
I also haven't banked anything for the winter - at this moment my plan is to freeze my ass off recording podcasts in the shed 🥶🤣
Before you make a decision on the Final Cut License, you should give Davinci Resolve a shot. The free version is what I use and it is a lot more polished than you would expect from free software.

Yes sir, everything is good. Just between everything that was going on…something had to suffer and RUclips is the most logical choice. This past season I rode more without the cameras than I did with. I like just enjoying the ride and not having to worry about content.
As for the editing software, man I’m not sure exactly which way I’m gonna go with it yet. Eventually I’ll figure it all out.

I’ve heard that about thumbnails. I suck at thumbnails!!! They are always an afterthought for me and I just throw something together real quick. Thanks for the tip. I have been a user of iMovie for as long as I’ve been doing this. youtube is a wild ride. It's got it's ups and downs. Honestly I don't or at least try to put a ton of money into this. But having a good editing software does help. Put out as many videos as you want too. Once a week, once a month. As long as it's consistent.

The whole motivation thing is what I have a problem with in terms of RUclips’s expectations and anyone else’s.
We all start a channel and sweat about making content, but as I said in our mental health video it’s basically an endless pursuit.
I see so many creators worrying about releasing content to satisfy an algorithm and yet at the end of the day we’re really just doing it for fun.
The algorithm tends to force us all to work against the odds, and for no real meaningful gain… of course meeting people through RUclips is the one shining light.
Be well man, don’t sweat it. ✌️
I totally agree with you on this. This is just supposed to be a hobby and to be fun and enjoyable. But sometimes it feels like it turns into a second job.
Like you said, most of us don’t get anything out of it except for the awesome people we find out about and meet. That’s gotta be the best thing about my RUclips journey by far.

You gotta do what is right for you. $300 is a nice chuck of change. Like you I often struggle where to drawn that line. I really do not have a plan when I do videos or keep things in the bank. I just kind of do my own thing. I enjoy your content and personally I do not feel taking a break is bad. Life happens. Ride safe and stay warm.
Staying warm right now is kinda hard to do…man I hate this weather. I always tell myself at the beginning of the season that I’m gonna bank videos, but then I wind up riding much more without the cameras than I do with. I always try to justify spending the 💰💰 on the channel but sometimes I just can’t. Thanks for watching and stay safe
RUclips can be very frustrating but at the end of the day you have to make the content for yourself and let the rest fall into place. It's easy to get discouraged and stressed out about it. Don't let it get you down too bad. At the end of the day if you're not enjoying it it's not worth it. I don't mean any of that in a negative way I'm just speaking from personal experiences that I've gone through too.
I didn’t take that in a negative way at all. It’s really easy to get discouraged doing this. I used to get stressed about putting videos out on a regular schedule but I’m not stressing about it. If I get content out, I get it out. Being a RUclips creator, while I enjoy doing it, is not my main priority. Thanks for the words of encouragement and for watching!! Stay safe!!
It took me two years to get to 1K. It is definitely a grind and to be honest I'm kinda burnt out on it. I've had several rides where I didn't film anything and I needed that. It's good to take breaks because we tend to have a lot going on in our lives. I do have some videos I've banked but they won't get me through the winter. I've put a lot of money into my channel and trying to pay for it all now with monetization. I use filmora for editing and it doesn't cost that much. With Black Friday sales going on maybe you can get a deal on some software. At the end of the day do what makes you happy brother. Take care ✌🤘
I have probably had more rides this year without running cameras than I did with. It’s really nice to just ride and not have to worry about recording. This definitely is an expensive hobby and I know I’ll never make the money back that I have invested into the channel. Glad to hear that you are starting to get some of your investments back. I think we all go through down times. If you use a Mac use DeVinci Resolve it’s FREE and just as good as final cut. Try doing some videos about your bike and mods for that brand of bike. You have a nitch people will want. Ride Safe

Hey there- keep the content coming- How late in the season do you ride?
While I don’t commute back and forth to work during the winter(too dangerous with all the deer in my area) I never winterized my bike. I always believe in having it ready to go for those few days a month that I am able to get out and ride, even if only for an hour. So if the roads are clear and it’s warm enough, season never ends. I can see it’d be a bit discouraging if your channel is not where you’re hoping it to be and this time of year can be a bit depressing, I just parked my bike for the winter 😢. This time of year is definitely a depressing time. It seems like it’s dark all the time, grass is brown, trees are bare. @@GoofyBastard If you’ve ever watch Highway Through Hell episodes, that’s the highway I drive often, highway 5 “The Coquihalla” in BC. I’m off right now because I injured my knee this year, just had surgery Monday. I’ll see how it heals up but I’m considering making a change to a fuel delivery driving job in January, it’s all local so I won’t have to do the winter mountain driving….also, too many new drivers these days who have no idea what they’re doing causing mayhem in the mountains lol. Winter suckssss ! I haven’t been on the bike in about a month myself . I have footage I could use , but I’m not really a “voice over “ kinda guy …
I’ll make videos when I can , and if I add anything to the bike I’ll record that . Just have fun with it man - don’t put any pressure on yourself. I make videos so that someday maybe my grandkids will find them and realize Grampa ain’t really a putz after all 😂😂
Well let’s not get crazy…our grandkids are still gonna think we’re putzs but with motorcycles and RUclips channels 😂😂😂. I have videos that I have shot, just didn’t have the desire to edit and post. FCP is basically just the big brother version on iMovie. The cool part is if you buy it, it's 1 and done, you can move that license forward as you get new computers and what not. If you want some help getting to know what it can do so you can decide, hit me up and I'll take you through my process, I tend to keep it simple
I’ll probably wait til after the holidays to really worry about it. I have been getting used to the workflow of it. Once I figured out a few things it sure as shit made it a lot easier. But it offers way move than iMovie does. Just the amount of transitions and the fact you can tweak the audio. But hell man, she should’ve at least given a deal on Black Friday!!
