I’ve been completing all regions before I move on with the story and I reached the end of chapter 4 in around 22 hours. I’m having a blast so far so I’ll keep doing this and hopefully it will stay engaging till the end.

This is how i always play rpg's i am at 10 hours and just finished the grasslands. People now don't get how to really appreceate games. It took me 116 hours to finish infinite wealth i never rush.
This game has definitely fixed some of the problems that I had with the first game. Side quests are no longer worthless. You actually want to explore the world. And at least for now (chapter 4) the worthless and annoying side characters have been kept to a minimum
To "fix" performance mode's blurry vaseline image if you are on a 4k tv, change your PS5's resolution setting to 1440p. This will make the game significantly less blurry because the game runs performance mode at like 1152p which is upscaled via bilinear upscaling to 4k by default. Resulting in a blurry image. Setting your resolution to 1440p results in the 1152p image being upscaled to 1440p instead, which introduces much less blurry vaseline like textures. Also, maybe increase the sharpness of your tv a bit until the image looks good to you.
It makes it less awful but it still looks distractingly bad. Square Enix needs to fix this. They're charging a premium price of $70 for this game yet the performance mode looks like one of those "impossible ports" on the Switch!

It started with having to register for online services and forced update requirements, and now they have PC settings. At this point just buy a desktop or get a steam deck fr
Feels good to finally have that possible after so long for a FF game. Whatever happens it’s already an achievement to have a metacritic score of 92 after the disappointing FF16 (not a bad game, but a significant step in the wrong direction my view). We still have some great games coming out. I’ll be interested to see how DD2 does at the end of this month.

People forget, the old interviews of Kitase, wanted to do so much more with ff7, the limitations they had to scrap a lot of ideas and story elements because they couldn't do it within the development time. So everything new is very cool!

Boy wasnt expecting this open world to be so big, is almost overwhelming compare to REMAKE. im like 15 hours to the game and it doesnt seem i havent even scratch the surface. Graphics are increadible MUCH better than remake when u see the open world are. I was able to fix the 60 fps blurry next using the 1440p ps5 hack then sharpen to 15 in my LG C1. having a blast so far
Once I finally step out into the open field, I started collecting resources left and right, and tried to complete as many side quests before I got to the main quest. It really reminded me of the good parts of Skyrim in its first year of release
I still don't understand how a new game, exclusively utilizing the ps5 hardware, can look worse than a 4 year old ps4 game. I think it is ludicrous that I would have to even consider upgrading to a PS5 PRO just to clean up graphics on a game running on unreal engine 4.

I feel like the remake being episodic has made game development significantly easier, rather than just releasing the base game, then expanding it with dlc, which is what seems to happen a lot nowadays.
I for one am totally delighted to pay 79.99 for Disc 2 of Final Fantasy VII. I understand how hard it is to be game developer and admire the ala cart approach as a smart business tactic. This shows I'm both "in the know" on the inner workings of OUR industry and sympathetic toward the plight to the DEVS.
The 6/7 years wait has/will be hard but honestly now that we have two thirds out ... i wouldn't have it any other way and i hope they have all zones available (with new content) in part 3 even Midgard i just reached Gold Saucer today and i Honestly haven't been able to blink for 4 hours straight i was enjoying myself before and i gave had my fill of a more Modern Gold Saucer version compared to OG7 in FFXVI but this ... this is just as impactfull (if not more) as those two were in their time and what's more impressive is that it can still have this increasing effect on my since this is my third time down that road lol
@@bigduke5902 I think the PS1 games were much faster than that but yeah it's crazy that it takes so much longer but just with the actual open worlds we get nowadays not to mention the character model differences the time it takes feels justified don't you think? plus everyone else in the industry is taking forever too so its not just a Square thing haha

You should NOT be able to play that many games in a single FRANCHISE through your formative years of middle through high school! I'm at 22 hours and not actually done Chapter 4 (although I think I stopped just before the end). I've done everything I think though, including all of the QB stuff up to this point. Game is looking like it will take be 100 hours or more at the pace I'm going.
I’ve been watching Spawnwave for a while now and I’ve noticed he rushes through games. I’m pretty sure he beat Elden Ring in like 5 days. I get he has to keep on top of all the new games that come out but damn. He skips so much content in these big games

Many people dislike Windows but for me PC is the best device to play game and my other consoles collect dust, because getting office work done, relaxing on RUclips or reading walkthroughs and guides in between game is very important for me personally. I will never understand console war.
They didn't pad things like dungeons and now I know why, they added a mini game for everything! Srsly ending of 4, 5, and 6 have just been mini games made into chapters.
I’m sorry but I just don’t get it, I’ve played final fantasy 15,16 and the first 7 remake and I just can’t do it and I don’t get it, why are these games so beloved? The combat is by far the worst part for me and the story sometimes seems okay but then gets convoluted. Idk I guess it’s just me
15, 16 and 7R have COMPLETELY different combat systems so you might need to walk me through what you don't like about them. I wasn't a fan of 15's combat and it's story didn't pull me in, but 16 and 7R were some of my favorite games I've played on my PS5.
IMHO, this is the video game equivalent to a spoon full of sugar or hiding the dog pill in a piece of meat Hate RPGs but love DMC or Bayonetta? We got you covered.

The game is much bigger than Remake but bigger isn't always better. A lot of reviewers seem to have fallen into the trap of thinking that just because there's so much to do in the game that the game must be amazing.
It's not that they fell for a trap, but more so that Rebirth is the real FF7. The original had A LOT to do in it's pseudo open world. Remake was more of a base to make the real game so that's why so many fans are excited for Rebirth.
Waiting on the PS5 Pro is a terrible cop out to fix any issues in this game. Sony has conditioned yall to justify the next "Pro" consoles existence. It shouldn't need to exist, ps4 Pro should've been a learning lesson, yet, PS5 PRO will "fix" Rebirth😂😂😂😂
The game is amazing, my wife's been watching me play it and it got her interested in playing FF Remake. By the time she finishes that, she'll be able to play Rebirth after I finish it lol.
I'm about 10 hours in, doing all the open world stuff and starting to question where is the story? It doesn't seem right for a Final Fantasy 7 game. And I'm shocked to see there is still slow walking sections and squeezing through cracks, forced slow walking....
I'm only on chapter 4 mostly because I was focusing on beating prince of persia (insanely good game highly recommended) while playing a bit of ff7. From what I've played it's an awesome game. The graphics dude are definitely a step up from remake on the ps4 which is how I played that
The post processing they're using to give anti aliasing in performance mode is what causing it to be blurry, i don't know why they didn't use FSR 2.1 or gave us the ability to turn off the anti aliasing or whatever TAA or samplimg technique.
I’ve been playing performance mode and really haven’t noticed any of the graphical issues people are complaining about. It looks better than remake, especially the facial animations.
I feel like a proper jump button for overworld movement could fix almost all of the jank as It definitely feels like some of 7 remakes movement is still present in the open areas with invisible walls at certain terrain and finicky elevations. Game’s absolutely phenomenal though I do think it could take a page out of xenoblade or at least ff16 to make the overworld movement flow better
Well, I can't wait until PlayStation 5 Pro releases later this year, because Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Final Fantasy VII Remake will be the first two games I buy for the PS5 Pro....haha....
FF7 Rebirth is a masterpiece. Got off work yesterday, picked up my copy of the deluxe edition and played all night until about 3 in the morning. I’m only on chapter 3 and I feel like I’ve done a lot already in this game. But I’m the type that loves to do every little thing in open world games. Rebirth might very well be my fav FF game of all time after I get done with it. 10/10 for me!
I think it would be dimension, a timeline is the time that can be measured inside the dimension. So each dimension has their own timeline with similar events and people.
It's not often a game lives up to the hype you have in your own head. Even rarer for it to exceed your expectations. And all of that as a sequel. I'm loving it so far!
I just bought a ps5 slim and a disc drive just to play rebirth. Last month I finished the original final fantasy 7 and before I start rebirth I need to finish remake.
The big thing to remember is that this is a different story line based on FF7 rather than just a retelling. I think the production value and the overall experience of Remake justified it for me (Also because I didn't grow up with original FF7)

A theory I heard and liked and actually agreed with is After Sephorith is defeated in og 7, he went back in time when he was sent back into the ether where everyone goes after they die. Except he’s able to control, as he did in Advent Children which this Rebirth and remake are a sequel to as was confirmed. Therefore this Sephorith is that version trying to rewrite history. Made sense to me as someone who beat and loved Crisis Core reunion and putting two and two together throughout Remake into Rebirth. Infact the beginning of Rebirth I’m playing (the part in the demo) had me thinking about some things I don’t wanna say/spoil here. The Whispers are the ones trying to set things back into motion and fix things. It’s pretty interesting.
I've never played a final fantasy game. Is this a good starting point to get into the franchise or do I need to play final fantasy 7 remake first to understand the story?
The original ff7 on playstation 1, had 3 discs remake and rebirth covers disc 1, while the 3rd game will cover disc 2 & 3 (btw disc 3 was just the final dungeon which they couldn't fit on disk 2) the final game should cover wutai, return to Midgar and the giant weapons and the final battle there should more stuff but cannot remember
The amount of mini games is stupid and I hated the majority of them. Especially those that interfered with the pacing and the story. The moogle ones are a particularly shitty highlight
You ended your play session at the same chapter as me, Chapter 4. Cons[] *Wish MAI's voice could be muted in the volume settings, her talking about scientific monster facts while I'm in the middle of a monster fight just annoys me. *Also wish there was less rubbish around for my party to run into, I don't mind some of it but less assets around would be appreciated. I ran with my party and I heard a noise, looked back and Tifa and Barret were kicking boxes it's just odd behavior, kinda took me out of the game. Pros [] Love the new musical tracks I've heard. I'm very invested in the story so far. I also like if you talk with your party you may be given multi choice decision and your timed because in real life folks would want a fast reply too, it's a small detail but I admire it.
I’ve just picked up Final Fantasy 7 remake for PS4 which I will play (upgrade) to PS5 version when I put it in my PS5. When I have completed the Remake do I follow on from that with Final Fantasy Rebirth as part 2 of 3 does it pick up from the end of FF7 Remake
The graphics is why I wish they would just release on PC at the same time and instead of after some arbitrary date after May.. Folks like me aren't gona buy a console for one game and will try our best to avoid spoilers until the release... seems to me they trying to double dip which is scummy af
Where to start: Goodness are the first few chapters boring and slow. I feel spoiled having played Persona 3 Reload and even some Persona 5 Royal because those games just know how to A.) Respect your time and B.) create a narrative that does NOT get it the way of my game play. FF7 Rebirth has some of the most frustrating level mechanics I have experienced in a game. Navigation may even be worse than Jedi Survivor. One thing a game should NEVER do is throw a side quest in your way when you are trying to reach a destination unless it is INTEGRAL to the main narrative. Could care less about a sibling squabble when I am trying to reach freaking Junon! On top of that, there are areas where you can climb and traverse terrain which is absolutely hit or miss. Simple ledges seem like an actual ADVENTURE just to climb or jump over. Trying to drop down one level? You have to go ALL the way around an area which is absolutely an annoyance. Square Enix seriously needs to take a page out of Atlus as far as HOW to explain things without excessive tutorial info dump. Characters outside of the main crew sound like they are reading their lines. Some of the WORST voice acting. Honestly feel spoiled by Atlus. Overall, my experience with FF7 Rebirth has been somewhat frustrating. They need to tighten up basic quality of life issues with level navigation. It’s leaps and bounds beyond FF7 Remake which doesn’t even feel like the same team has worked on the new game.
This game absolutely has blown me away. I didn't even leave the grasslands until I completed every square inch of it. And I never once felt anything but Discovery and reward for doing everything. This is going to be an amazing journey. The team behind this remake series is world class.
At first I thought it looked really boring with the open world outside and riding a chocobo. Climbing also looked very lame. It seemed to look better later in the review. How much of the game is spent running around outdoors like that? It looked very bland and uneventful.
The trajectory is only upward with this Trilogy. I am (almost) certain the conclusion of Final Fantasy VII Re-Trilogy would garner perfect scores or near perfect scores across the board because of the outpouring efforts of the developers recreating a classic.

You too huh... I'm 12 hours in at the beginning of chapter 4 because I have a obsessive need to clear the entire map before doing any main missions

The mini games are kinda grating on me.
All sidequest are rendered worthless just by the fact that we now know you can't carry over levels, items or equipment between parts.

Remake was better. In Rebirth I feel like all I am doing is chase icons on a map riding a clunky chocobo.
The game is much bigger than Remake but bigger isn't always better. A lot of reviewers seem to have fallen into the trap of thinking that just because there's so much to do in the game that the game must be amazing.
It's not that they fell for a trap, but more so that Rebirth is the real FF7. The original had A LOT to do in it's pseudo open world.
Remake was more of a base to make the real game so that's why so many fans are excited for Rebirth.
The game is great there is no trap falling.

The game is amazing, my wife's been watching me play it and it got her interested in playing FF Remake. By the time she finishes that, she'll be able to play Rebirth after I finish it lol.
i just wished Rebirth had an 'organic jump' rather than a 'context sensitive jump'. Wud've made traversal alot less clunky.

I'm about 10 hours in, doing all the open world stuff and starting to question where is the story? It doesn't seem right for a Final Fantasy 7 game. And I'm shocked to see there is still slow walking sections and squeezing through cracks, forced slow walking....
I'm only on chapter 4 mostly because I was focusing on beating prince of persia (insanely good game highly recommended) while playing a bit of ff7. From what I've played it's an awesome game. The graphics dude are definitely a step up from remake on the ps4 which is how I played that

The post processing they're using to give anti aliasing in performance mode is what causing it to be blurry, i don't know why they didn't use FSR 2.1 or gave us the ability to turn off the anti aliasing or whatever TAA or samplimg technique.

I’ve been playing performance mode and really haven’t noticed any of the graphical issues people are complaining about. It looks better than remake, especially the facial animations.

I feel like a proper jump button for overworld movement could fix almost all of the jank as It definitely feels like some of 7 remakes movement is still present in the open areas with invisible walls at certain terrain and finicky elevations. Game’s absolutely phenomenal though I do think it could take a page out of xenoblade or at least ff16 to make the overworld movement flow better

FF7 Rebirth is a masterpiece. Got off work yesterday, picked up my copy of the deluxe edition and played all night until about 3 in the morning. I’m only on chapter 3 and I feel like I’ve done a lot already in this game. But I’m the type that loves to do every little thing in open world games. Rebirth might very well be my fav FF game of all time after I get done with it. 10/10 for me!

I think it would be dimension, a timeline is the time that can be measured inside the dimension. So each dimension has their own timeline with similar events and people.

It's not often a game lives up to the hype you have in your own head. Even rarer for it to exceed your expectations. And all of that as a sequel. I'm loving it so far!
I just bought a ps5 slim and a disc drive just to play rebirth. Last month I finished the original final fantasy 7 and before I start rebirth I need to finish remake.
The big thing to remember is that this is a different story line based on FF7 rather than just a retelling. I think the production value and the overall experience of Remake justified it for me (Also because I didn't grow up with original FF7)

A theory I heard and liked and actually agreed with is After Sephorith is defeated in og 7, he went back in time when he was sent back into the ether where everyone goes after they die. Except he’s able to control, as he did in Advent Children which this Rebirth and remake are a sequel to as was confirmed. Therefore this Sephorith is that version trying to rewrite history. Made sense to me as someone who beat and loved Crisis Core reunion and putting two and two together throughout Remake into Rebirth. Infact the beginning of Rebirth I’m playing (the part in the demo) had me thinking about some things I don’t wanna say/spoil here. The Whispers are the ones trying to set things back into motion and fix things. It’s pretty interesting.

The original ff7 on playstation 1, had 3 discs remake and rebirth covers disc 1, while the 3rd game will cover disc 2 & 3 (btw disc 3 was just the final dungeon which they couldn't fit on disk 2) the final game should cover wutai, return to Midgar and the giant weapons and the final battle there should more stuff but cannot remember

*Also wish there was less rubbish around for my party to run into, I don't mind some of it but less assets around would be appreciated. I ran with my party and I heard a noise, looked back and Tifa and Barret were kicking boxes it's just odd behavior, kinda took me out of the game.
Pros [] Love the new musical tracks I've heard. I'm very invested in the story so far. I also like if you talk with your party you may be given multi choice decision and your timed because in real life folks would want a fast reply too, it's a small detail but I admire it.
If I had a PS5 I'd be able to play it but Intergrade first.
In terms of those technical issues I'm sure it'll be patched.
I’ve just picked up Final Fantasy 7 remake for PS4 which I will play (upgrade) to PS5 version when I put it in my PS5. When I have completed the Remake do I follow on from that with Final Fantasy Rebirth as part 2 of 3 does it pick up from the end of FF7 Remake

I actually enjoyed XV a lot. The open world is bigger I feel too with more enemies from the start.

Where to start: Goodness are the first few chapters boring and slow. I feel spoiled having played Persona 3 Reload and even some Persona 5 Royal because those games just know how to A.) Respect your time and B.) create a narrative that does NOT get it the way of my game play.
FF7 Rebirth has some of the most frustrating level mechanics I have experienced in a game. Navigation may even be worse than Jedi Survivor. One thing a game should NEVER do is throw a side quest in your way when you are trying to reach a destination unless it is INTEGRAL to the main narrative. Could care less about a sibling squabble when I am trying to reach freaking Junon! On top of that, there are areas where you can climb and traverse terrain which is absolutely hit or miss. Simple ledges seem like an actual ADVENTURE just to climb or jump over. Trying to drop down one level? You have to go ALL the way around an area which is absolutely an annoyance.
Square Enix seriously needs to take a page out of Atlus as far as HOW to explain things without excessive tutorial info dump.
Characters outside of the main crew sound like they are reading their lines. Some of the WORST voice acting.
Honestly feel spoiled by Atlus.
Overall, my experience with FF7 Rebirth has been somewhat frustrating. They need to tighten up basic quality of life issues with level navigation. It’s leaps and bounds beyond FF7 Remake which doesn’t even feel like the same team has worked on the new game.

This game absolutely has blown me away. I didn't even leave the grasslands until I completed every square inch of it. And I never once felt anything but Discovery and reward for doing everything. This is going to be an amazing journey. The team behind this remake series is world class.
At first I thought it looked really boring with the open world outside and riding a chocobo. Climbing also looked very lame. It seemed to look better later in the review. How much of the game is spent running around outdoors like that? It looked very bland and uneventful.

The trajectory is only upward with this Trilogy. I am (almost) certain the conclusion of Final Fantasy VII Re-Trilogy would garner perfect scores or near perfect scores across the board because of the outpouring efforts of the developers recreating a classic.
