The Saturday of the Miami Grand Prix descended into utter chaos, sparking a dispute between multiple drivers and the FIA due to contentious decisions made during the sprint race. It all began when Fernando Alonso voiced his belief that nationality plays a significant role in F1 investigation outcomes, intending to raise these concerns with FIA president Mohammed Ben-Sulayem. However, questionable decisions continued throughout the weekend, with Lewis Hamilton frequently involved. Alonso, who had previously lamented penalties incurred during the Australian Grand Prix and the Chinese Grand Prix sprint, felt particularly aggrieved when Hamilton escaped punishment for an opening-lap collision during the Miami sprint. Hamilton made a risky maneuver at Turn 1, resulting in Alonso colliding with teammate Lance Stroll, who was approaching from the outside. This triggered a chain reaction, leading to retirements for Stroll and McLaren's Lando Norris, while Alonso and Hamilton's Mercedes teammate George Russell found themselves at the back of the pack. When asked about potential FIA punishment, Alonso remarked that he doubted any action would be taken due to Hamilton's nationality, expressing frustration that the incident adversely affected several drivers, notably Norris, who had a competitive car and was caught up in the collision.
Alonso explained that during the race, he found himself behind Ocon and considered the possibility of attempting an overtaking maneuver. However, he decided against it, reasoning that taking such a risk could result in penalties. Instead, he focused on completing the 19 laps and returning to the team to discuss potential adjustments. He described the sprint race as a valuable opportunity for him and the team to gather data on tyre degradation, which would be beneficial for the upcoming major Grand Prix. Alonso emphasized that their primary objective was not to compete in the sprint race but rather to assess degradation and other factors for the following day's race, a goal they successfully achieved. He likened the sprint race to a free practice session rather than a competitive race. Additionally, Alonso noted Aston Martin's ongoing concerns about how certain FIA race steward rulings have been impacting its drivers in recent races.

@mrs-NWA Lulu has always been an @rse with a vastly oversized ego. He's a very easy person to dislike even if you're totally blind, so don't just jump on the skin colour bandwagon as it's getting old.
Alonso only blamed Lulu in this case because he doesn't want to criticise the special needs son of his very wealthy employer.
