Great interview. Dimmu introduce me to extreme metal when I was still trying to find something that clicked. Right away it was clear the band wasn't typical of their scene but that it made them unique, a style that transcended genres. Even their earlier material had a balance of harshness and beauty. Mixing symphonic elements and being open to new ideas and experimenting.
Dimmu Borgir: That one Norwegian Symphonic Black Metal Band a Small Minority of Individuals Hate because they got Popular & use Keyboards, but their first few Albums are Masterpieces.
The first three Dimmu Borgir albums are amazing and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant was the album that got me into black metal. The moment I heard the opening of Mourning Palace my life was changed.
🌹♥️🌹 Rob Halford asking for your autograph, thats how you know your doing something right🤘😁 very special band for me, I wouldn't be alive today if not for Dimmu Borgir, Sear Bliss, Children Of Bodom...
Thank you. I guess algorhitms have a big part of that. But like said, I don't do this for the fame or money. I do this because music - especially metal music - is my passion.
Great interview! Dimmu fan since 1997 (EDT) I love all their production and still dreaming a stable lineup with Mustis and Vortex. Good job and thank you 🙏 Salutations from northern Italy
Oh..sure does feel good to be one of the first 10 comments here. Great interview and damn good questions you asked. Cheers, and I'll be watching this a few times tbh, and I can't wait to hear the new Dimmu when it comes out!! 🍻🤘
Really great interview Jerry! although we all have our favourite dimmu albums, (enthrone, spiritual, for all tid) there’s something on every one of their albums I enjoy! Did you know at this point vortex and mustis would be joining them on stage or was that a surprise for you too?
As much as I appreciate this interview, in my humble opinion I think these types of interviews should be done by a fan who knows their music very well and knows what other DB fans would like to ask. BUT…. I may be wrong and an interview conducted by a metal musician would be boring as hell 😂
By default I think fan interviews can be cringe or just suck because the fans may lack critical apprcoah and focus too much on being a fan, ie worshpping the interviewee. And since I’m am a metal musician myself since 1994, you hit the spot there: my style can be boring as fuck to some. I cannot say. Anyway, Rauta’s Patreon supporters can send me questions for bands to be asked and I do my best to present them to the bands if the supporter so chooses!
Always loved their 90s stuff even the 2000s stuff, Eonian though is a pile of garbage imo sorry, sounds like ASMR lol. Anyway great Interview as always, best channel for it you know already Jerry 👏🏿🤘🏿🔥
@@Satarnoch When you put it that way, it makes sense, but what a dumb joke. He could have just said: Everything after Death cult Armageddon pretty much sucks; and I would have agreed. Side note: I had no idea Dimmu put out shitsmass music.. Gross.
Congratulations Jerry for doing an interview with this huge band.

Congratulations Jerry 🎉😎
For landing this HUGE interview!!

Thanks! A kind of Dream come true.

You call it a dream, yet you worked your ass off for this dream..
I say, it's well earned.
😎🤘🏻
@RobHellfire666 Thanks for your supporting words. 🫡
Nice achievement for your career, sir! Happy for you!
Thank you. I consider this interview very important.
Great interview. Clearly Silenoz has respect for you to do your show..they dont do many interviews!
Thank you. And I am really thankful to him and Nuclear Blast (for help), too.
The first three Dimmu Borgir albums are amazing and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant was the album that got me into black metal. The moment I heard the opening of Mourning Palace my life was changed.
EDT was a game-changer
Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia is a BAAANGER!
I love Dimmu Borgir , I love Silenoz , 💋🖤🖤🖤🤘👊🎼🎵🔥

Outstanding interview!!
Thank you sir!
Great interview. Silenoz is very interesting guy.Horns Up.
They couldn't make a better song than mourning palace
Awesome bro 😈
love this band...
I never understood why your channel doesn’t have more subscribers . You are doing the work of a real metalhead .
It's good in it's own way if it's for music not to make money
Thank you. I guess algorhitms have a big part of that. But like said, I don't do this for the fame or money. I do this because music - especially metal music - is my passion.
Dude you answered your own question! hahaha!
Favourite type of burger is Dimmu Borgir.
I don't regularly listen to sympho black, but when I do, Dimmu and Old Man's Child are my go to
"Can I have a Dimmu Burger wirh big Satyricola, please?"
Great interview Jerry. Love Dimmu Borgir.
Thank you
Who remembers the cartoon metalocalypse when Nathan was working at the fast food place called dimmu burger
I do.
Dimmu burger and a cradle of fries plz😁
With a big Satyricola?
Wow
Great interview!

Enjoyed the interview not exactly giving anything away about the new album was he which I did expect anyway
Great interview, I would like to critique Silenoz saying they don't care about being rockstars. I think that has been shown to be false.
Thank you!

Thank you! No, at this point it was a surprise for me to see this special show!
Good questions, interesting interview, but the really important thing - new music/new album remains a mystery... 😕
Thank you. And yes, now we have something new to wait for.
First three Dimmu are amazing and I will always love it until I die.

Interesting and nice Interview. Great to hear some news from Dimmu 👍
Thanks!
I cant stop glazing silenoz, man is carrying dimmu all the time😭
Hell Yeah Rauta keep it up with the awesome content
Thank you!
Great interview, well done.
Thanks!
Congrats to Dimmu Borgir for being interwieved by Rauta, and get some thought thru and interesting questions for once! Hell Rauta! 🍻🍻
Thanks!
I remember when i was young i bought their cassette dont remember the album
Silenoz is the mastermind behind dimmu borgir since 1994, Shagrath is just the face of the band😁
And the better vocalist! My opinion.
Im not sure about this ,Shagrath plays guitar and keyboards and always contributes to writing i think Dimmu is 50/50 between Shagrath and Silenoz
Galder was the game changer in this band...elite......great interview
No 😂
I do love DB but 2 albums in the last 14 years is a bit ridiculous.
Why did he put air quotes around pandemic?
Do you really need an answer? My eyes rolled over when he did it.
@@georgecostan3248 Yeah, guess I don't really need one.
You really don't get it? The quotes mean: so-called. Which is correct to describe it like that. But that's just me.
@@klausherbert3040 Yes, I know what air quotes mean.🙄 Why would he put it like THAT?
@@DarknessUnresolved what do you by like THAT?
Would it be funny if the band stopped playing and pick their phones and start filming the audience. Stand still situation.
Def!

Thank you! But gotta say, Eonian is my fav Dimmu these days.
@@RautaMetal Holy heck, even more than EDT?
Yes, even tho EDT is my 2nd fav.
"Pandemic"
So are they like atheistic Satanists? Or are they like Nergal from behemoth where he FULLBLOWN theistic ?!
I don't think this interview answered that. Sorry.
"Close the circle" very ominous...
I H8 this band (end of story) lol 😂
Why tho?
5:10 "becoming the biggest blackman" haha great interview though for real
the truth about Dimmu Borgir is that they've lost it...the last album is their worst.
IMO it’s their best.
You should have released this on April 1st, it would have made more sense 😂😂😂😂😂
Huh???
Haha. I don't do Aprils fools.
@@RobHellfire666 probably a lazy joke about being sellouts and not black metal
Why?

Gross.
Old dimmu albums is good, but after...
I kinda prefer the other way.
Jerry are you a shorter guy or is silenoz a half orc? Dude looks huge
Stormblast is the one I return to. the rest especially after enthrone darkness triumphant are pure cheese
Ironically Stormblast is too cheesy for me :D
Their message still sings tried and true though! An ex of mine once said they sounded like Disney villain music.
