Veterinarians have already done all this research lol. That's why they have special flea/tick meds for dogs that are safe/effective.

Get some nexgard plus. Kills ticks the second they bite your dog. My dog has only had maybe 8 fleas her entire life. She's 8 years old.

We just bought Frontline because the natural collars for our animals did not work and neither did essential oil recipes the we made for them. They came in with ticks all the time!! Now they are tick free, but I hate the chemicals! Definitely appreciate this video . Maybe some of this stuff would work!
It's certainly worth a try. Hope it works
Buy Wondercide yard spray. Hook it up to your hose and treat the yard. I also use diatomaceous earth along the edges of the yard and I bought tick tubes to put under the shed and in the wood pile. It targets the ticks on mice which are the largest reservoir for ticks.
I use frontline and cat dog and house myself are still flea ridden
Nexgard plus. Frontline is messy and gross.
Nexgard. It's a chew,available from your vet! Simple, easy,no mess,no oils,no concoction mixing.

Also, free ranging chickens. We once bought a fixer upper that had an extreme tick problem in the yard...until we set some chickies loose!🐓
Diatomaceous earth is only effective when it's dry.

Do any of these alternatives actually kill fleas or is it just a repellent, because it only takes one flea to start up some trouble.
If I remember correctly I think some do both. If you read the product description it should tell you.
What about heart worms? Will these products prevent pups from getting heart warms altogether?
I think they're more geared towards flea and ticks, not sure about heart worms
