Plant some lavender. Not only does it smell really nice but fleas do not like it when lavender is planted. A natural flea repellent.
Also rosemary. It also helps & tastes great on tri tip.

I thought this was a miracle product. Then my dog developed a neuro condition the day after I put the collar on him. Vet wasn’t sure if he’d make it or not but after 2 weeks without the collar and a big vet bill, he recovered. Never again!

@finnz7786 he ran several tests and then determined it to be chemically induced neuro toxicity (I could have the words in the wrong order). He said the only thing we could do was treat with steroids (2 weeks) and provide a lot of rest and TLC. He was showing improvement after the first week then almost completely recovered after 2. NO MORE FLEA COLLARS FOR ANY OF MY DOGS. EVER.

Hey y'all! I'm not on a farm but in the burbs and my dogs Seresto collars been working for 11.5 months so far... I bought it at Walmart and yes I paid $86 but I must say it's been worth it... we have a huge flea and tick problem here in NC with our woodsy areas and sand-rich soil and my poor dog was INFESTED. I had used drops on her neck and all sorts of home hacks to get them away to no avail and yes she got the house infested too... I even threw out the kids mattresses because she slept with them and it was a nightmare even with no carpets in the entire place! I've seen some bad health videos where the family claims Seresto landed their sweet dog in dire straits and it broke my heart but seriously without Seresto our dog would be dead from blood loss/anemia and infections from biting.... to us Seresto has been a true Godsend and thanks for letting us know it's cheaper on the budget thru Amazon!

EXACTLY, thank you. Like many "medicines", chemicals, pesticides, etc; there IS a risk of reactions up to and including death. This particular product has proven over TIME to be fatal to a significantly higher than "average" number of both dogs and cats. Please be aware the time, money and/or convenience this product might save you could also cost you your pets LIFE. Don't take the chance that your family member may be the one that is sensitive to whatever they use to make this collar so effective. Don't take my word for it. I have read and researched this from testimony of certified veterinarians.

@@needmoreramsay They all have side effects and risk of serious problems. One reason i DID NOT use the frontline treatments I bought for my dog was from reading all the negative reviews. Then people have to read what a 3rd part like you has to say. I don't know you, nor do I know if you really did any research on this so I'm certainly not going to take your word for it (Given that you have not cited your sources). My vet recommends frontline, but I still wont use it because of reading about bad side effects, as I have already had my dogs using Seresto for a couple years without issue I will just stick with this. There is also the risk of death/sickness from not getting any treatment. I guess my point is there is risk regardless of what you do. One of my dogs got a tick infection during a spell i used no collar (forgot the name) But I ended up rushing him to vet because we didn't know what was wrong with him, so there are risks in doing something or doing nothing regarding any of these treatments and I sure hell am not going to trust a vets take on medication that works or doesn't because they know as much as we do about the making, chemicals, quality control ect related to any of these collars or drops used to control ticks. In the philippines where i live many dogs die all the time from tick problems so its a requirement to use something. I have nothing but positive experience with Seresto flea collars and will continue to use these until i have reason not to.

Obviously go with what your vet says, however myself and my neighbor have had two labs both unrelated to one another except for being the same breed. They both had seizures later in life without use of any medication that is supposed to cause them or make them worse. I just thought it should be known that Labs are prone to them and all dogs as they age have higher risks of them due to age related organ issues. Just saying it might not have been the collar but if you and your vet are handling it then do what you think is best and what is working. I’m just some guy but I thought my experience was something I could share.

Why would you still use this product on your other dog if it did so much damage to your older dog? Common sense would dictate this chemical is not good for dogs. It's not a "reaction", it's prolonged use of chemicals affecting your dog. For the sake of your dogs, please stop using all commercial "tick repellent", there's a reason it's used as poison on insects. ruclips.net/video/0Np4qeZ_Q_s/видео.html

I'm a ex diesel mechanic so using a tie is just experience for me. I'm glad you included this step in the video. My only suggestion is to use a little bigger tie. Lowe's or any big chain building store sells them cheaply in bulk. And they are just handy to have for other things as well.

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about these collars, lots of claims that their pets have had seizures after using them due to some of the chemicals used. Ive been using flea collars by a company named "brerie" for a few months now and they seem to be working really well. There have been about 3% of pets who use the Seresto that have had problems, and the toxicology seems to point to knockoff cheap Seresto collars people are buying online from scam companies. These collars have been sold for several decades and only recently started getting complaints. I have personally seen other companies selling super cheap "Seresto" collars that are most likely fakes made with dangerous ingredients. Also, 3% could simply be a case of allergic reactions. Turns out that 3% of humans are allergic to bee stings. I watched a Vet talking about these reports and she pointed to the toxicology reports from the complaints and then pointed to the fact that everyone needs to be always watching their dog or cat when using flea treatment and reading the back of the package for instructions on how it should be used. Some people have also complained about having a reaction to them, but I wonder having read the back of the container if they had not and were repurposing the container.
That said, be very careful with "natural" products, because they are not regulated and tested as well or at all for that matter. Dogs can also have allergic reactions to them. Natural doesn't mean anything and can be just as toxic as anything chemical. Lavender and Peppermint might be safe for your pet, but you don't know what else is added to the collars to make them work. If they are working and your animals are fine then don't worry about it too much, but always keep an eye on your animals when it comes to this kind of stuff chemical or "natural" there is no legal definition of what that is and can be anything including arsenic.

“Peppermint and lavender essential oils are toxic to dogs, so do not use them. As for lavender, while it isn't toxic, dogs can have negative or allergic reactions to it, so use only small amounts initially. If you have a cat, do not use any essential oils as many are highly toxic to cats.” It took 2 seconds to prove the other guy right and you wrong.

Last summer Revolution quit working, and I had to find another flea preventive for my cat. I researched and asked questions at several pet shops. I tried a natural spray product called WonderCide. It did nothing for fleas, but my cat's coat condition improved after I used it on him.
A friend told me about the Seresto collar. I was reluctant to try it because my cat had never worn collars and he tends to get fussy about anything new. He's an indoor cat. I was at the checkout counter getting ready to buy Frontline, and when I asked the clerk about it she told me she uses the Seresto collar with great results. So I decided to try it, having been assured that I could return it for any reason.
I watched a brief video on how to unpack and put on the Seresto collar. I put my cat on the bed, fitted the collar properly, and he was on his way in less than two minutes. Within 2 days, all fleas on my cat were gone and have never returned. No fleas in the house either. The collar never fazed my cat. He adjusted to it immediately. Seresto works, and is far less expensive than topicals when compared on a monthly basis. It lasts for 8 months, but I plan to change it every 6 months just to be sure.

Work great for all our cats. One thing to consider is construction of collar is made to come apart under pulling stress so if your dog or cat catches collar on something: tree limb, pipe sticking out ground, etc it will come apart and not choke animal to death.
Zip ties might keep that from happening

You are a day late. :( Got the summer supply of Frontline in from Amazon yesterday so all the dogs and cats got thier first treatment last night. So far, Frontline works better than anything else I've tried - ticks being the biggest issue. I've yet to find a collar my biggest boy can't loose, but if Frontline stops working will give your Seresto collar a try.

I just started using the Seresto collar this year. I've never seen a flea but the ticks still get all over my dog and they bite but after they bitten they die and fall off. That's the part I don't care for is that they have to bite him before they die which does not help with Lyme disease at all. That is my only complaint

Hey Daniel, I too used the Soresto Flea and Tick collars on both of my Golden Retrievers as we live in a heavily wooded area, and being goldens; they love to go romp around in the woods. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after putting the flea and tick collar on one of my dogs, he began having horrific seizures, to the point where I thought I was going to lose him one night of a heart attack from the full blown seizures. After doing quite a bit of research on the product, one of the ingredients is a byproduct of nicotine, and is absorbed through the dogs skin. After removing the collar, and giving him a thorough Dawn dish soap bath to neutralize the oils from the collar, the seizures stopped, and have not occurred again for going on 3 months. I am very wary of this product, and after finding out that the company (Bayer) did not disclose the presence of seizures that occurred during testing as a by product, I immediately stopped use of it. Just something to keep in mind if your pup starts having issues and you're trying to figure out what my be the culprit. Big fan of your channel Daniel, keep doing what you do!

I use the natural flea and tick spot on. Works great, and smells great too. I try my hardest not to use chemicals on my animals my boys will be messing around with. We take our dog up in the mountains, to the lake, and here on our land. I don't have a problem with fleas, and ticks on him. They even have it for cats which is great too. I had so many problems with regular flea and tick stuff. It usually doesn't work, but this natural one does. It smells like cloves, and lemongrass.

Nicely done and nicely filmed. I like how it went over and covered the opening and application of the product. I have a very important question I was hoping you could answer. Would you say that these collars offer full-body protection from ticks and fleas? I have had flea collars in the past that only seem to protect the top portion of the body which leaves the dogs still biting near their tail and lower back area. Do you have problems like that with the Seresto collars?

It worked for about 3 weeks. Bought it in early December after all the baths and sprays failed to get rid of the fleas and my brother recommended it. Within 2 or 3 days I couldn't find a flea anywhere on my dog. Now 2nd week of January and she's covered in fleas again. Still has the collar, it's not doing a damned bit of good, just like all the others. My only option is one of the flea pills from the vet.

No you cannot use a large one on 2 small dogs. Too dangerous with the amount of product....I am a veterinary technician. Never do that or never use on cats. Some ways to know the difference
    1. Price. You should pay between $60-$70 for a REAL one for little dogs (not sure about big dogs)
    2. The REAL ones have color underneath the top lid (either red or green from what I've seen)
    3. Theres actual writing on the plastic in which the collar is packaged (FAKE ones have no writing)
    4. Some of the FAKES don't have the ingredient information on the front of the can, the REAL ones do. (I've seen the fakes with ingredients on the front as well)
    5. The tin cans of the FAKES are smaller
    6. The "edge" or sides of the REAL has writing and a Seresto collar printed around the can, as well as a barcode. FAKES are plain on the sides...just grey tin
    7. The REAL tin cans come sealed while the FAKES do not
    8. The REAL has a packaged collar with reflectors & little paper info, the FAKES have the collar package (on the inside) wrapped in bubble wrap with "instructions"
    9. Most of the REALS have the info printed onto the back (bottom) of the can while the FAKES have a sticker label
    10. The REALS have a little white security censor on the back (bottom)
    11. The REALS are a darker grey than the FAKES

I also used Bravecto until there was a TV program on Dutch TV about Bravecto and dogs that had died. Your dog may have been allergic to it after a few times and then get a kind of attack and die. After this program I stopped, I dare not give my dogs anymore. The working was perfect.

last fall I bought some netting and stuff to build my son a batting cage in our backyard. Before he was even able to really use it one morning I went out and found a neighbor's cat had gotten tangled in the netting and died from choking I presume. I told the neighbor and decided that weekend u would tear the batting cage down if it was gonna put the pets in danger. Well before I had time to we found yet another cat the exact same way. The one thing in common is they both had seresto collars on that would not break away. I can't believe their collar won't break away. So warning the collar may work very well but u are putting a choking device on your pet you need to know that.

We have been using them for several years.
Prior to them we used the drops and the dogs and cats still had fleas.
One of our cats developed a bad rash from the collar so he doesn't get one but the other 3 animals are good.
Expensive but worth the price to keep the fleas off the animals and us.

We use stuff from our vet i think its the same name but its a pill once a month. But we skip a month in between our cats we use one a month. We used to use collars but we always end up they got caught somwere and lost thier collar.
Walking through the woods i would find collars hanging in puker brush.
Also (even tho its not legal here) only time my dogs have anything on thier neck is when we go off the property then they get there collars with tags on them. Otherwise they are in their birthday suits.
