    I met this woman in 1998 at Universal Distributers, she was autographing promotional items for her label and my sister and I were there because my sister struck a deal with UD to distribute our 1st CD (even though we were not signed to any company), and I of course was smitten (in a nice way), I was doing all the lines such as "Who runs Bartter Town? ..... :You know who!"

      this is a true story, I know it sounds like 🐂💩.
      It was before the smart phone, but we did take a picture together, me, my sister, Tina and I guess a manager or personal assistant.
      Because he made us sign a release that the picture was not for print, publication of any kind or to be sold.
      As I was walking out the door I said. "WHO RUNS BARTTER TOWN?"
      I was hoping for "YOU KNOW WHO", but instead I got. "you should listen to your younger sister once in a while"

    • @stevengreen9536
      @stevengreen9536 3 года назад +6

      @@vortexart5587 Sequel and Barter Town but i agree. Idk if Auntie would have bothered risking an expedition to find the oasis. Remember in the post apocalypse manpower is a scarce resource. If the men did not make it back it would be awhile before she could replace them. If any of them had certain skills it might be a long time before they find anyone with those same skills if ever. But with the latest film they decided to start over for some reason so that wont happen outside of fan fiction. Auntie could potentially find the notes but "IF" any of her minions were literate enough to read them. ( mainly anyone born before the collapse) I doubt they would have the know how to keep it working properly. So Barter Town would still be subject to unintentional blackouts. Which could potentially split the city into warring factions that not only threaten the peace but Auntie's authority as well.

    • @stevengreen9536
      @stevengreen9536 3 года назад +4

      @@vortexart5587 I have no doubt Auntie would make every effort to rebuild. But it would be a challenge. Especially since Barter Town would lack many of the tools and equipment we take for granted these days. As for the wheel well.....here is the thing. That would be the result of metallurgy. That is a skill humanity has had and refined since the Bronze Age. You only require a simple forge,tools,metals,and training. We had it before the collapse and so long as ppl with the skill and know how exist. Take on apprentices and pass on all they know it will continue to exist. So YES they could make the repairs to the pipes as needed so long as they have the metal to do so. Possibly make new ones as time goes on. Master's notes will help most certainly. Although it will be trial and error for his replacement. But it will be a struggle at first. Angry townsfolk who had grown accustomed to having electricity combined with ambitious guardsmen who would be king will become a real test for Aunty,her subordinates, and any individuals or factions who remain loyal to her.

      1: The fruit is from the town being a trading hub. People coming and going, trade seeds for clean water, sex, ammo, whatever they need. The pig shit is the needed element for the soil to give the needed nutrients for the seeds to grow. The fruit on the table are all indigenous to Australia.
      2: Never ask questions you really don't want answers to... Pigs eat anything... Notice how the town does now have a "boot hill" or a hospital? Where do you think the dead, dying or the sick get tossed? Where do you think the criminals get tossed? Where do you think the loser of the Thunderdome gets tossed? Hell, this place would recycle pig organs and feed it back to the pigs. Yes, there is a scene where there is a "grain" feed system, but it's not grain. It's dried human pellets. yum yum yum

    Mad max is great but can't compare to George Miller's seminal classic, Happy Feet 2.

    Turner's elocution in dialogue is really clear. Very clean voice, great enunciation. It really helps highlight that she's in charge.

    Its weird...and also amazing that Tina Turner would be in Mad Max. I imagine if she was really in this universe..this is how she would exactly act

    I like how this whole plan hinges on the idea that no one knows Max is working with Auntie. But in order to get to Auntie's platform lair Max is clearly seen with her henchmen taking the lift up to meet her.
