  • Whether the church should completely crumble or continue to exist is a wildly hot topic right now. SO much abuse has taken place, and continues to take place, in the church. I often say that it's embarrassing at how terrible the church responds to abuse. And it's embarrassing at how many abusers are "restored" back to ministry positions. So does the church need to completely fall? Would children be safer if churches ceased to exist?

Do you know why we put our hands on our hearts? That started in 1942. The idea of saluting the flag began in the late 1800s. What was known as the Bellamy Salute was used. It was a variant of the old Roman salute. The problem occurred with the rise of the Nazis. They also used a variation of the old Roman salute. They were too close in appearance, so Congress passed a resolution suggesting hand over the heart instead. A resolution is not a law. In this case, it was just a suggestion that people got on board with it.

“Christendom has had a series of revolutions and in each one of them Christianity has died. Christianity has died many times and risen again; for it had a God who knew the way out of the grave.”

do i think we need to rebuild the church ,well not the structure or building but the way the clergy preaches the way they allow pedophiles and other criminals in the church ,we as survivors try to teach those who go to church that allowing those w a sex offender record or a criminal record in a church doesnt save them because they joined to find their next target or mark And then we survivors get bullied and called all kinds of names just because we are trying to save these women and kids .. i feel we need to educate clergy more .. sadly i know of a local baptist church that allowed a registered sex offender in the church and the deacon who is a convicted con told the church that people are placed on that website site for no reason and i stand there screaming at them saying no they have to register by law and go thru a process that involves a paper trail they totally blow me off because i am not baptist .. now for your question of what i stand for i stand for rape survivors abuse survivors i blog post or even scream to get my point across because in my mind it might save a life .. thats means alot to me ...
