Other tests were: Ammunition comparability tests, as well as non-destructive testing to determine what, if any faults were developing during the testing. The participants were: Glock, H-K, Sig Sauer, Beretta, and Smith & Wesson. During the first Ergonomic Tests we were instructed not to test the two Glock entries since both the Glock 22 and Glock 23 catastrophically failed between 6,000 - 8,000 rounds of the reliability / durability tests! I could go on with the results, but it would be old news. The reason I described the different tests was to provide a background for how Glock modified all Glock models after the tests. They added a steel locking block reinforcement pin which solved their problems. Sadly they never re-entered their two models the two subsequent years of testing at Aberdeen. If you have read this far you probably are wondering what this has to do with this video. Well, the answer is that, for whatever reason, Glock deleted the locking block reinforcing pins from all Generation Five models!
Certainly plausible that the engineers over at Glock figured out how to fix the problem without that pin. That'd be my guess, but I'm sure somebody will run it through its paces to see for sure.

I have a GLOCK 30SF gen3. I've had it for 13 years. It has NEVER FAILED me. FMJ'S, HP'S BRASS, STEEL, ALUMINUM. And at 7 yrds and in. I can keep it on a 2 inch CIRCLE. NUFF said and OLD DEVIL DOG 😊
Gen 3 29 SF qualifying every 6 months for years I used every magazine configuration and my results were always the same 240 out of 250 iceqt on a good day. Yes I do miss or don't even bother taking the third shot of 3 in3 seconds drill. Fully stock except for three Dot trigon's. Everyone else 19/17/34
go for it i got a Gen 4 G30 sheesh snappy but best decision actually might upgrade that guide rod see if it’ll help and i got the same 13rd clip might need the x grip make it feel full thicker 🫶🏼
Always great to see your videos. The Glock model numbers of course have no basis in the real world… no tie to actual calibers or dimensions of the handgun. Even for fans, it makes it difficult to even have a conversation about purchasing new guns or parts for making them better. That hasn’t stopped me from supporting the brand and your team there. Picked up my G29 Gen5 last week and it’s been alright but not exemplary, kinda feels redundant when compared to the prior generation. No MOS is a major disappointment for me and it already has me feeling some buyer’s remorse as someone who will be using this as an all-purpose hiking/woods weapon.
Sticking with g30 gen 4. my EDC! Don't like the gen 5 front serrations, more aggressive grip texture, lack of finger groves, removal of locking block reinforcement pin, basically all the "Improvements".
I think he got it wrong at 0:40. These are definitely subcompact models, NOT compact. I don't know why Glock refuses to give us a true compact like the G19 in 10mm and .45ACP. Also, Glock, if you're reading this, please give us a Gen 5 G32 already.

I've got a Gen 5 G29 inbound to try out. I have a Gen 4 G29 and have added the extended slide lock, Dawson sights, KKM barrel, (-) connector, and bought the X-grip so I can use G20 mags in it. Unfortunately, the X-grip is just hideous with horrible fit and feel. The contour, design, and texture doesn't match the Glock at all. It just looks cheesy. It works, barely, but I was hoping someone else would come up with a product that fits better, and looks better. Can't wait to take the new G29 to the range and see if it can match the 1" 5-shot 25yd groups that my Gen 4 does with reloads.
I just got mine, one issue I am having is the slide not wanting to go into battery. I did the Recoil Spring Test and it failed. Bought a RYG Recoil Spring Assembly rated for the gun and same issues including 5 failures to go into battery after 75 rounds and the gun got dirty. So both the OEM and RYG RSAs are apparently not up to moving that much slide mass? Going to consult Glock but I may just get a couple of heavier RSAs and see how they do.
Get a glock factory guide rod assembly for a glock 30 and it will probably start to work. Where most people have trouble with glock is aftermarket parts. Ive been through the cerified glock armorers course twice now, and they stress in that class, do not use aftermarket parts. Glocks are like the AK 47 of the pistol world, they are ugly, the triggers usually suck, but they work!
I prefer the gen 4 because i actually prefer to have the finger grooves as i do on my G 19 gen 4 and G30 gen 3 and have actually just ordered a G29 in gen 4

I can, but that means I would spend more on different mags. Unlike the 26, 27s they take g19 and g23 mags.. I know that p80 make 26/27 frames with weapon mount but I live in a commie state that hate our rights and it seem glock does since they want nothing to do with handgun roster

Probably not. The guide rod is different. The locking block may also be different. Also the Gen 5 safety plunger is a different shape. Your best bet would be to either buy a new Gen 5, or if you like the serrations on the Gen 5, mill your Gen 3. Even if you could Frankenstein something into kinda working it would be less reliable than either a Gen 3 or a Gen 5.

A Glock 30S, Gen 3 has been my EDC for years and I'm glad to see these updates, but rather surprised no MOS cut.
They do that so they can release a "new" model with mos in a year knowing people will buy it.

I shot the gen 4 G29 with the 2 finger grip and found it had less recoil than the XD M elite 3.8. With the 10 round full finger grip.

I bought the tungsten guide rod for my Glock 20. Felt exactly the same. Keep it stock, except upgrade the sights.
I know you’re a Glock store but a tungsten guide rod for the sig p365 series would be home run amazing.

Pearce grip extensions are great for the 10 round mag on the 29. You can either do +2 w extension or just the extension
And to me it’s not as “loose” with the plus 2 Pearce VS the X Grip

Still got my Gen 3 20 and 29 .29 with x grip Kramer IWB Horsehide 16 rds 10 mm The extended grip make 29 much more manageable.
Try this, use the mag spring from a Glock 30 with no other mods in a Glock 29 mag. In my mags I get 11 rounds of 10mm.

A 42X with a 10 round magazine would be a homerun for Glock, just as the 43X is. Maybe a 42XL with a longer slide.
I never had an issue with the stock slide release but the upgrade does make it better.
I purchase a G30 Gen 5 recently. Love the gun but wish Glock would have given it the G19 grip. Just that lil extra would have been perfect.

Unfortunately I live in California, so I can only get my hands on Gen 3 models. But I am happy with my G17, G21SF and my G30SF.
I love my G20. Now I would like to get the G29 and of course the G40. Soon I hope🙏🏻🤞🏻 I have 5-G’s and like each one.
Have G29. 1st version. Found with mag extension, the tiny gap between grip & mag extension nips inside of finger, very annoying.
Can't find the Gen5 magazines for the G21/5 or the G30/5 (orange followers)

My glock line up, looking to add more to it in the future. Glock 19, Glock 23, Glock 29, Glock 30. All Gen 3.
