I was exposed to this when I was 5, was the first bit of the 80s I was shown, this was no doubt the best thing I ever saw, years later I listened back to the theme and man, I can't help but feel like that meme of moe from the Simpsons dancing
Happy Halloween! 🎃👻👽👾💀👿🤡👹😱 If you like this, then check out the theme for Count Duckuka, especially the end thene. It's from the same era & is also awesome.
Somewhere in the dark and nasty regions, where nobody goes, stands an ancient castle. Deep within this dank and uninviting place, lives Berk. Overworked servant to the thing upstairs. But that's nothing, compared to the horrors that lurk beneath the trapdoor. For there is always something down there. In the dark. *WAITING TO COME OUT!*
"Don't you open that Trap Door!" Oh, i remember this animated series. I saw it on The Children's Channel back in the 1980's and 1990's. Also, i played the computer game on the Commodore 64. And i went the stop motion animation class last year's january in Tikkurila, Vantaa. Right now, I'm practicing for drawing the comic books and other arts. This soundtrack still rocks! 😺👍
Whaaaat?! 😕 How could it be!? It was still 1995 as the series was on German TV, every Halloween time for a couple of years, but not longer. 🦇🎃💀🕷️🐸 25 years later... now I know more about this 😘🎉👻👍
I literally just said to my friend "I wish there was a full version of "The Trapdoor"s theme.. never had the idea to search it up.. until now. How could I miss out for so long 😂🙈
I still remember seeing this show for the first time back in the early to mid 1980s. It was on CITV - Childrens Television ITV. It has a certain sarcastic dark humour which is brilliant! also having it voiced by Willie Rushton was brilliant.
This is also slightly pitched up, there's a version uploaded by a user called Duck which sounds much closer to the version used in the show. Also, if some of the intonations seem different it's because when they do a theme song, they take the most memorable version of the hook and use that one, the full length version generally has differing parts :)
Even though I never had the chance to see this in my childhood, at least I can still watch the series at anytime. Thanks for posting this after all those years, this show is quite the trip!
I was always taken with the theme tune as a 11 year old. And you're right - it's basically thriller or perhaps a forerunner to the likes of 'The Wizard' by Paul Hardcastle.
This full version of the theme tune featured in the 1st series, episode called "Don't Open That Trap Door" but did not include the whole song. This version on RUclips, however, is the full uncut version.
Nigel Davies - "theme of the Trap D00R" (Here comes my childhood again) I had recorded it on my music tape since I was 14. Too bad that I had no music CD from this series. 📻🎶🤟🎧🎶
It would be really great if this show was re-made with modern techniques, leaving everything just as it was in terms of story and everything else, just improved visuals.
I didn't grow up with this show, and I've actually never even seen it, but wow this song slaps.
You missed out on a golden period of shows, then!
Do give the show a watch, it's very easy to find the whole thing right here on RUclips in its forty episode glory.
You missed tf out

This song is so underrated. It should be on every Halloween playlist ever.
I’ve said that but can’t download it anywhere
This theme song had absolutely no business going this hard like wow

It's from the episode "Don't Open That Trap Door", which is basically an episode-length music video.
Perfect for Halloween!

Is the song cheesy and ridiculously 80s? Yeah
Does it absolutely slap even today? Absolutely
Strong Rockwell vibes with this one. Excellent!
Agreed +1
Alice Cooper needs to do a cover of this
I'd learn how to make a reboot of the show just for that very purpose
Overworked servant my ass. No way he's that friggin happy if he's overworked XD
Best comment
This just randomly popped into my head
Omg same

I was born in 85 and trapdoor is the most epic one to remember
this randomly popped into my head, used to watch this at my grandparents all the time
What it also makes it interesting is that Berk looks exactly like Cookie Monster. But in much shorter appearance.
😅 Cookies!!! 👍🍪
I love that cute little sound at the beginning, like a little creature answered his greeting at 0:05
I've seen trap door so much that I can notice this is faster than the original recording.
I've see it so much I can tell some of the intintions are different. At least to the full length one in the show
-cowed tha ikon- in the credits it was little faster as well
This is also slightly pitched up, there's a version uploaded by a user called Duck which sounds much closer to the version used in the show. Fairly sure this version did appear in the show one time, in an episode where berk finds an old radio in one of his cupboards. This is sped up though.
Change it to 0.75% speed it's far closer
I miss the trap door
Was an awesome show! We had some banging tv shows in the 80s/90s
One of the best kids shows of the 80's
Cracking tune! Loved this as a kid!
Got the entire series on Christmas 2013 when I was 9 and goddamn did I watch the shit out of this show, still one of the best shows out there today
This song is almost as long as an episode of the show is! Grateful for it though, I love this genre of music.
There's a whole episode where the characters just dance along to this
This was in the episode "Don't You Open That Trap Door" but with Bony singing along to part of it
🐸That was the first episode of the TRAP D00R 👍

My favourite TV Show. Needs to come back so badly.
As a matter of fact, we all wanted to come back.
